Beast Machines Optimus Primal was just as bad as Megatron. Both were fighting for their own selfish desires without consideration for others.

Optimus Primal basically went on vacation, discovered veganism, then went back home, discovered religion and then tried to force everyone else to convert along with him.

Megatron wanted to end war by having everyone be the same and think the same so there would be no difference of opinion but at the cost of individuality and free will.

Both Optimus Primal and Megatron were equally bad. But as a show, it was ahead of its time.

The writers of Beast Machines were not allowed to watch Beast Wars except for being told the basic character outlines. Beast Machines had to be its own thing instead of relying on Beast Wars even though it was a direct sequel. Thats why it felt so different.

Just got DoA6 in PS4 and went about doing all the quick and easy trophies first for 30% done. Im now working on the play training for an hour mode of my new game by putting it on training then turning the tv off.

When a game has no monetary value to a publisher (not currently being on sale), its as much theft as keeping a discarded piece of trash you find on the ground that you can still make use of.

So I found a pair of headphones on the bus that somebody had left behind on an empty seat. they were missing the rubber bud that goes into your ears. So I took them and replaced the missing bud with my own that happened to fit. You know they would have just been thrown away if someone else found them. They had been abandoned after all.

Its about sales and losing out on sales.

Downloading a ROM of Pokemon Sword is rightfully illegal. Its a new game. Downloading a ROM of Fire Red does not take any sales away as Nintendo isnt selling Fire Red right now.

When it is rereleased as currently on sale then it would be theft. Until then, it cannot be paid for and so is not theft.

If you download a ROM of an old game today that cannot be paid for then the game is rereleased tomorrow, it becomes theft if you play that ROM.

No, it still is, it's just one the copyright holder clearly doesn't care about.

Intellectual property is intangible if there is no money to be made from it. A game no longer on sale in any capacity can not make the owner any more money until its rereleased.

If you take a cartridge or disc without paying for it, yes. Thats theft.

If you download a ROM of a game currently on sale (including old games) on modern consoles with no intention of paying for it on those modern consoles, then that is also theft.

If it is an impossibility to pay the owner of an old game that is not available on modern consoles to buy, only second hand - then I dont think of it as theft.

The owner has to lose a sale for it to be theft. Super Mario Galaxy can be downloaded on Wii U - pirating that would be theft. Mario Kart Wii is only available second hand; pirating that would not deny Nintendo a sale so no money is lost.
