Pretty sure when a business or home has security cameras installed, they also are required to put a sign on the entrance stating that they are being recorded. Entering the establishment is effectively giving consent to the recording.

Sprinklers are unlocked by reaching Farming level 2. You craft them using 1 copper bar and 1 iron bar.
The default level 1 sprinkler waters 4 tiles (1 in each cardinal direction), but I honestly recommend getting a sprinkler mod. I got the "Basic Sprinkler Improved" mod (http://www.nexusmods.com/stardewvalley/mods/833/?) because it doesn't unbalance the game since it's still the same area of 4 tiles watered, but you can change which 4 tiles. So your farm isn't a complete mess and doesn't become a royal pain in the ass to harvest due to avoiding the sprinklers themselves when collecting.

You raise your friendship with other villagers by interacting with them, basically. Talking to them once a day, giving them gifts, completing quests they mail to you or post on the general store bulletin board, etc.

This. Which is understandable, really, because there is just too much in the book to fit into a standard movie runtime. The battle room was pretty sweet, though, and I wish they'd concentrated on it more like the book did.

It wasn't bad, but it definitely was lacking a lot because of that. Might have been better if they'd turned it into a 2-part series or even added the second book and made it a trilogy.

How would NPC schedules work without the 3-day cycle?

NPCs would have a standard schedule independent of your actions that repeats every 1/2/3 days or whatever the devs want. The ones who move based on quest progress would move when you progress in a quest.

You know, like basically every game that has ever had NPC schedules? This isn't rocket science.

The problem is that the time-limit gimmick was a complete waste.

The song of time literally renders the time-limit meaningless, so there was just an arbitrary layer of annoyance that had only a marginal-at-best effect on the gameplay itself. It just makes you backtrack even more in a game that was already painfully backtrack-heavy.

TopicDo you believe that money "brings happiness?"
Aristoph
09/08/17 11:39:40 PM

I don't think it's exactly as simple as "money can/can't buy happiness." I also don't think money can buy things that you need to be happy.

You can't buy a loving family. You can't buy a fulfilling job. You can't buy respect from friends. That sort of thing is earned through work and effort, regardless of your finances.

What money can do, however, is alleviate fears and stresses that otherwise would prevent happiness. You don't have to worry about that hurricane that might be about to wipe out your home, because you can rebuild easily. You don't have to worry about losing your job because of that accident that ruined your car, because you can just buy a new one or get a rental until it's fixed. You don't have to worry about hospital bills from an unexpected illness meaning you can't pay your rent for a month.

It gives you peace of mind. And peace of mind is 90% of happiness, tbh.

I didn't commit any crimes?

A Hagerstown man convicted of disorderly conduct in an incident he partially recorded on video was sentenced this week in Washington County District Court to 60 days in jail and ordered not to record or post recordings of others while on probation.

District Judge Terry A. Myers on Tuesday sentenced Dustin Cavanaugh, 29, to 60 days in jail for disorderly conduct, plus a 60-day suspended sentence for failure to obey a lawful police order, according to court records.

Myers found Cavanaugh guilty on the two charges in a March bench trial.

Someone quote this for Dustin to see.

https://www.yahoo.com/gma/woman-catches-mechanic-taking-apparent-joyride-her-limited-151035421--abc-news-topstories.html

My dad has owned a car repair and upholstery shop for decades. It's not actually a big deal, honestly. If a car gets repaired, the mechanics generally do need to take it out for a short drive to make sure everything's working as it's supposed to and the repair worked. My dad would frequently use their lunch break to do that. "I need to test this car, and someone needs to go pick up our lunch, so I'll take this car to go pick up our lunch."

Now if the car was in for cleaning or detailing instead of repair work, then yeah that's a bit ridiculous and the guy was just trying to drive around in a sweet car for a day. And that's bullshit. But if it was for repairs, then the car does need to be checked when they're done to make sure it's working again. The company's statements are probably just a bunch of bullshit to appease the customer and get ahead of the PR problems, but the guy isn't likely going to actually face much punishment if anything.

I've got Ark: Survival Evolved on PS4 already, and while I would really love to have it for PC I don't know how I feel about paying another full $60 for a game I already own (and got for less than half that while it was still in early access). :-/ Plus I'm going to be playing almost exclusively single-player, so a big part of the appeal is missing.

I also have Subnautica, which is fantastic but doesn't have much to do once you've made all the vehicles. The base-building doesn't feel as satisfying or as unique as it does in Ark.

The updates to No Man's Sky have been pretty great, too. And I've put a lot of time into it recently. But I'm kind of in the mood for something a little different and more crafting-based rather than exploration.

EDIT: I don't care for zombies.
