As someone who has both first-hand experience with severe depression and suicidal thoughts and answering a call to find the person on the other end locked in their bathroom with a knife...I think I can safely say that job has got to be both the worst and the best feeling in the world.

Yes, occasionally you will be on the phone with a person as they take their own life. But by and large, most people who actually call the hotline are the ones who don't want to go through with it and just need some reassurance that there is another way.

And I find it hard to believe that there can be anything quite as satisfying as knowing that you may be saving someone's life every time you pick up the phone. I bet the good operators, the ones who stay with it for a long time, have to be good at focusing on that part instead of the rare occasion where it ends badly.

Christmas Eve for me. Mostly because my family isn't very religious, so we don't particularly care exactly which day. But my sister-in-law's family is extremely religious and they spend most of Christmas at church. So we celebrate on Christmas Eve, and then let them celebrate with the other side of the family on Christmas day.

I'm just finishing up the LEGO Hobbit we got for free like a week ago. This is perfect timing!

I know the games are easy and pretty simplistic collect-a-thons overall. But there's a weird charm about them that makes me want to unlock everything. They're my relaxation games for when I'm not in the mood to shoot stuff. And that satisfying chiming noise when you pick up and bunch or studs at once. XD

I genuinely don't understand the 25 comment.

Sure, at 16 or something you are probably too young.

But younger people recover faster and they have longer to enjoy the benefits of this surgery. I'd say it's actually smarter to get it as soon as your surgeon feels confident.

Because it's literally wasting money and adding risk for little to no benefit. You'll likely have to get another procedure in a few years because your eyes will have continued to develop and your vision will blur again.

Warframe

Hell, the community for Warframe is actually one of the biggest reasons to play it in the first place. There's just SO MANY different slightly-disjointed mechanics and things to keep track of that it's pretty easy to just hit a point where you look at everything, seeing "unlock this in order to unlock that in order to unlock this other thing" and go "so where exactly does the chain start?"

In most communities, you'd reach a point like that and just give up on the game. Maybe, if you're lucky, you'd ask in chat and someone would say "start with X." But in Warframe, you'll ask in chat and someone will not just say "start with X" but rather "You want X first. You can get it by doing Y. Lemme send you an invite, I'll take you to the right mission and help you do it. Oh, and I've got a couple of extras of this really annoying resource to get that you'll want soon. Have one!" That literally happened to me when I first started, and my mind was blown.

That is literally the reason I made this account. Not the being warned part. The wanting somewhere to talk about what happened. A friend of mine said he liked posting on the social boards on GameFAQs, and while I'd been using the site without an account for FAQs and even reading the occasional game board, I hadn't really even noticed the social boards were a thing. Decided to finally make an account, and I've been around ever since.
