Whats far more likely is a shark biting him because it thought he was food or it was curious about him. Sharks bite on things whenever theyre curious like how humans use their fingers to poke something. Problem is shark bites are so strong that one bite can be fatal to people. The lad probably either drowned or died from a shark bite. Assuming he was eaten by sharks is kind of ridiculous since sharks dont even like how humans taste. Most animals dont.
