People are generally not independent thinkers until around age 12. Raise them typically until then. Little kids are idiots and can't be trusted to define such enormous things. The best approach is to go with the flow but still have boundaries for everything. If your son likes Barbies, he likes Barbies, and that's fine. But don't shovel some art degree thesis on "you're a girl or have no gender, etc." up his ass. Let him make that decision later when he has the introspection to understand the whole thing better. It could mean something, it could mean nothing. Nobody knows until later, even if it seems like he's different.

It was the reason Donald Trump abstained from drinking since then (and one of the only things I respect Trump for)

Biden's got a big family, they don't seem any more drug-addicted, proportionally, than other American families. Were you aware that our country has major issues with rampant drug use?
That's largely thanks to the Perdue family, whose stocks went up because the fine they got for ruining America was so minor it was irrelevant. They're not in jail.

Seriously, the $2000 thing is a hill worth dying on, so to speak. Trump literally loses nothing while looking a little better on his way out of office. It's a lot easier to sow some goodwill with a handout over anything else, and if the last thing his tenure is remembered for was fighting to give everyone more money, plus him being gone, he won't seem quite as bad to people and will have a bit of nostalgia going into 2024, if he runs. It's a 3D chess move and it's only fucking over the establishment, who can then demonize again next election for not wanting to do it.

Death penalty is a waste. Even if someone's irredeemable and/or unreleasable, they can still be put to use. Better to make them repay their debt to society as best they can than to throw their lives and whatever use that could be made of them away.
The problem is that "the usuals" will bitch that it's inhumane to make anyone do anything ever. The mayor of Berlin wanted to institute a program for people on welfare to help clean up the city and stuff and earn some money but was decried for solely wanting to force non-disabled people to actually contribute. Lots of places are having so many issues because rather than telling the morons to shut up and go away, they're being listened to because they somehow have power now. Saying "no" without a backup plan should negate the "no" outright, IMO. I'd be okay with no death penalties if those who would've received them are instead used as free labor. The problem with that is that with a system controlled by corporate interests, laws will be lobbied in such a way that it could essentially be a return to slavery. There'd need to be a lot checks/balances immune to erosion.

People always focus on the $600 check and ignore the unemployment additions that are WAY more than that.

At least this time it's "only" +$300 per week, not +$600.
But Dems are promising (ie, threatening) to push for more if they win control of the Senate. Ugh...I want them in power, but not this. Why are they so dead set on screwing over essential employees? If they think people need more money, do a larger stimulus check, don't dump so much into additional unemployment. It's a slap in the face to cashiers and such forced to work shit jobs and be exposed to COVID to earn less money than people sitting at home doing nothing.

The $75K income limit is also stupid. Way too low, in a lot of (ironically, blue) areas, cost of living is obscenely high and $75K is like barely middle class.
I agree. They really need to find a better balance. People that have to go to work are lucky to have a job, they should be getting more than anyone sitting at home. Period.

I'd agree with consistency. I went to one location and got this specialty pizza... the first one I went to loaded it up, the second place was too skimpy, and the third (second from second place) was in between. The problem was I expect it to be like the first one with all the stuff on it, so neither was adequate and I just lost my interest in that place.

This is sort of subjective, and I know they can't help it, but I find "country bumpkin" servers off-putting. Whenever I have one that's a middle-aged or older, clearly-straight-but-overtly-masculine farmer woman, it just kills the vibe for me. I have no ill will towards them, it's just who they are, but their demeanor rubs me the wrong way and it detracts from my dining experience. People sorta like Melissa McCarthy, if that description wasn't good enough.

I think you should give someone the choice of execution they want. I support the death penalty, but not as a deterrent, just as a means to remove people who are an ever-present danger if left alive. Some serial rapist or murderer isn't going to change. They can't be released. There's no point in wasting tens of thousands or even hundreds of thousands in tax dollars for someone that the world only benefits from by not having them exist at all.

The irony is that I felt like a million bucks otherwise and it was super strange because I knew I was sick but didn't feel ill. This was still when testing was more limited and they said because I had no fever and felt healthy for the most part that I should just self-isolate for 14 days from the onset of symptoms. I'd say the best place to start right now with covid and all is to maybe hop on discord voice with groups of men and women to "hang out" playing stuff and do not try to strike up relationships with anybody female. Just keep it casual and be friends with everybody. Don't be that weird guy. It'll get you outta any awkward around women issues, hopefully. Dudes that only really associate with other dudes get this sorta strange, uncontrollable desperation vibe the odd time they are around chicks. Not that they are creepy guys or bad or anything, but it's just nervousness or something and it can sorta suck the soul outta the room depending.

You can say "all cryptocurrencies" because they aren't backed by anything somewhat tangible like a country or a bunch of gold hoarded away and require certain systems to be relevant or maintain value. You can't say "all national currencies" because they are backed by various governments with different value and stability.

I get this as being the most reasonable thing to do, but I am wondering what somebody hopes to achieve breaking up with somebody several times just to end up with them again, and actually musing to others if they should break up at various points. Now, I understand this isn't my business at all. The most sensible advice in this topic is to not do anything. If people want to make a poor decision(at least, in my view), it isn't my job to do anything about it. Maybe to them it's not a poor decision at all.
Really, you do you. She's her own person and makes her own choices and it's not dependent on you to tell her what's right or wrong. I don't know all the details, but it sounds like whatever they have sucks. If they've already broken up multiple times and she has mentioned to others about breaking up, she's not there because she likes him, she's there because change is hard for some people.

Cryptocurrency is at the mercy of governments. The US dollar will have value as long as there's a US government. If places decided its too illicit or something and banned it, there's no way to salvage almost all of its value. It could exist as a black market thing to a mild extent, but it would go from gold to rubles immediately and there'd be no incentive for anyone to continue using it, really. Bartering would be more practical.

It really depends to what extent she's in a relationship. If it's a case of "just dating some guy recently" and things aren't serious, you're not really being a homewrecker. If they're living together or married or something, it's definitely a sketchy thing to do... and there is a big factor to consider: does she have fidelity problems because she's willing to just hop from him to you, or is their "relationship" a sham or a matter of convenience/laziness and you'll just be speeding up its inevitable demise?

At the end of the day, like many things, "it depends". I would definitely make it clear to the co-worker that you're not looking to be a mistress and that if she sets this up, that she has to make it clear that you're not gonna be some cuck or cuck some other dude. It's kinda lame to be the guy possibly breaking them up, but if they had a good relationship in the first place there's zero chance she'd entertain the idea of dating another person. It sounds to me like it's already over except officially.

I think the compromise is that if you don't wear a seatbelt, anything that happens to you is 100% your responsibility to pay for. So if you crash and break your leg, no healthcare coverage. You are out of pocket 100% for whatever it costs. Yeah, the injury could be unrelated to wearing a seatbelt, but that's a good deterrent to not wearing one.

I'm a total hard-ass when it comes to rules, but even I think if something isn't a crime anymore you may as well free the person who committed it. If they had other things on there, like assault, obviously they should serve out those sentences, but if they are literally in prison for a crime that can no longer even be committed, it seems dumb. Even if you don't give a fuck about the person and see it as "they broke the law at the time," fair enough, but justify it by thinking "my tax dollars aren't housing and feeding and guarding this person anymore and can be spent elsewhere."
