In the story I'm working on, the female lead is loosely patterned after Angela Mao Ying; widely regarded and marketed as Bruce Lee's distaff counterpart.

To this effect, I watched eight movies of hers over a two day weekend and took notes on as many actions and mannerisms as I thought might be applicable to the type of character I was trying to create. In a dream last night, I sat in a lit room and debated the pros and cons of patterning a supporting character after Chuck Norris while the fight scene from Forced Vengeance played in the background.

"Well, it would give me an excuse to have him fight a big guy like he did in that one movie. (Forced Vengeance) But should he have blond hair like Chuck did back in the day? Oh, and a lot of chest hair. *chuckling to myself* Eh, but if I patterned a character after Chuck Norris, I'd have to copy that one movie where he had the Jeff Speakman mustache."

Chuck Norris never had "Jeff Speakman mustache." That line was just a bit of in-dream weirdness. But the reflections on the pros and cons of modeling a character after Chuck Norris played out a lot like it would had I been awake. The blond hair is a reference to Breaker, Breaker. The chest hair is a reference to Way of the Dragon. And the mention of the "fight with the big guy" is a reference to Forced Vengeance.

And my waking self agrees with my asleep self. Patterning the character after Chuck Norris would be an awful idea. Right...? <_<
