I say don't save a ho who doesn't want to be saved. Let WWEs grave be right next to WCWs and ECWs where it belongs. Vince and company will have their golden parachutes, and something else will take its place. AEW could presumably. There's no way Fox is happy with the ratings or USA network. Pro wrestling will be on TV in some form or fashion as has boxing since the inception of television.

I like how they say that they werent acting in the best interest for the company in the same article where Vince wouldnt show Crown Jewel live in SA without getting paid by the Saudis.

You'd think thats somewhat in the best interest in the company in getting AR paid.

I wish pro wrestling would go back to the way it was back in the 1980s where there was numerous promotions and not everyone trying to be the only promotion.

100% agree

It's that way in Japan. Japan has always had multiple, profitable wrestling companies.

The link already does

The 44-page lawsuit was filed last week on April 24 and claims that the executives took actions without the best interests of the shareholders in mind. Among the claims that are made, it alleges that the top executives made false statements and failed to disclose adverse facts known to them about the promotion.

So shareholders and middle execs are suing Vince basically for lying and/or withholding information and facts about the trip to Saudi?

Pretty much right now. The other was before this was them lying about using WWE money to help fund the XFL

I mean, USA and WWE kind of need each other. WWE needs a decent network, and the USA network has basically nothing to keep their network afloat without WWE.

The whole COVID thing might actually benefit Fox/WWE's relationship, because WWE is still reliably putting out new content at a time when nothing else really is. If Smackdown's ratings recover after everything goes back to normal Fox might be much more tolerant of the WWE ratings.

WWE continues to break it's own record having the lowest viewed Raw in history. Did the same thing last night -

Last nights edition of WWE RAW drew 1.817 million viewers, down from last weeks 1.842 million viewers and a new all-time low in viewership for a non-holiday episode in RAW history and the second lowest viewership in the history of the show including holiday episodes.

Okay, last night was second lowest, lol

But the WWE is making more money than ever thanks to their Fox and Blood Money deal, so, take that how you will.

True, but we're in very special circumstances right now, and low ratings now will not necessarily mean low rating when we return to "normal".

Its not like things are guaranteed to go back to normal for WWE's ratings, esp. since WWE's big thing is getting people to just tune in every week because of mostly habit (because the show sucks) but there's a chance that nothing changes once this is over.

I'm interested to see if WWE does another Saudi show, since they might be able to find a way out of that contract now.

Not banned, but they had to wear these awkward-looking bodysuits.

I really hope AEW pulls through the pandemic and maintains the momentum it was building throughout 2019. As someone who was huge into wrestling years ago but became disinterested in the WWE, AEW is a worthy "successor".

This is what I was responding to. You said it might benefit it because there is nothing else on right now. It's not, they're getting worst views now with no competition

I'm an AEW fan, but I want to be able to like WWE too. I don't constantly shit on them because I don't want to. I want WWE to improve and be worth watching, not keep doing the same mediocre and stagnant things they've been doing for years or (even worse for the industry as a whole) die out entirely. WWE's best era came about because WCW was breathing down their necks, so if you support WWE and want them to improve, then you should be supporting AEW too because that competition might be the kick in the ass that WWE needs.

OK I see what you meant thats my bad.

I meant more that Fox might get a bit of loyalty tho WWE for actually providing something when nothing else is, and so Fox would be a little more tolerant of the poor ratings now and in the future because WWE is at least providing something new, even if nobody seems to care (although ratings are down everywhere too). This isn't necessarily true either, but I could see it happening.

WWE also has a terrible habit of being terrible and somehow succeeding than when they're good, so I can't say for sure WWE is coming out of this worse for wear.

From my experience, the only people who really dislike the WWE are people who can't get over the fact that the Attitude Era won't come back, and edgy contrarians that think liking NJPW/AEW/Impact makes them unique.

On the same token, from my experience, the only people who blindly shit on other promotions and defend the WWE are people who have only watched the WWE and assume anything that isn't as over-produced and high budget is akin to indie promotions.

I've been a lapsed fan for years and I tried getting back into WWE once SmackDown started on FOX, and it's just not resonating with me.
