One thing known is 4 Sentinelese were brought to the mainland back in the day. The two older ones died of disease, and the 2 children were returned to the island with "gifts". What happened to the tribe after their return is unknown but they definitely hate outsiders.

I read something about someone - maybe the wanna be missionary - who left fruit, etc. on the beach once. As he paddled away, they threw what he had left back into the sea and mooned him ("assumed defecating postures", IIRC).

You don't have to speak their language to understand that.

https://apnews.com/article/florida-man-games-social-media-st-augustine-baba548edfa25a963b823ae0023fb227

It aint the Olympics, but a group of Floridians plan to host competitions themed according to the collective antics of the beer-loving, gator-possessing, rap-sheet heavy, mullet-wearing social media phenomenon known as Florida Man.

Organizers of the Florida Man Games describe the competition as the most insane athletic showdown on Earth. The games will poke fun at Floridas reputation for producing strange news stories involving guns, drugs, booze and reptiles or some combination of the four.

Among the contests planned for next February in St. Augustine, Florida, according to organizers, are the Evading Arrest Obstacle Course in which contestants jump over fences and through yards while being chased by real police officers; the Category 5 Cash Grab in which participants try to grab as much money in a wind-blowing booth; and the self-explanatory Beer-belly Wrestling.

This isnt just a competition; its a one-of-a-kind Floridian spectacle! organizers said on the games website.

The Florida Man concept crept into the nations consciousness a decade ago with the @_FloridaMan Twitter account. The account, with the tagline Real-life stories of the worlds worst superhero, has been home to headlines such as Florida Man Fire Bombs Garage That Impounded His Car, Hits His Own Vehicle and Florida Man Tried to Pay for McDonalds With Weed.

General admission tickets to the event are going for $45. Two former stars of the 1990s television show American Gladiators have agreed to serve as referees.

A St. Augustine resident is behind the games: Pete Melfi, owner of The 904 Now, a media outlet covering St. Johns County.

We thought, How can we really play on these Florida Man headlines that we hear so much about? Someone gave me the idea to make it into an athletic competition, Melfi told the Orlando Sentinel. Its going to be a wild day of mud games and Florida-style obstacle courses. Its going to really be an opportunity to live that Florida Man life for a day.

https://www.si.com/college/washington/football/while-public-opinion-changes-weekly-penix-remains-in-thick-of-heisman-race

Luckily, 870 voters plucked from six regions will determine the next Heisman Trophy winner, or college football's best player, which seems fair enough. Yet for now, all you will get is breathless speculation based on individual whim, almost silly stuff.

USC's Caleb Williams was deemed the early favorite over the first month of the season solely because the quarterback went home clutching the 2022 award, but consecutive Trojan losses since have dropped him almost entirely from the conversation.

More college analysts than not have jumped on the bandwagon promoting Michigan's J.J. McCarthy, who quarterbacks an 8-0 team yet didn't become a trophy frontrunner until the Wolverines were roundly accused of a brazen sign-stealing operation to gain a competitive advantage.

Nothing says Heisman Trophy winner more than an alleged cheating scandal used to navigate the highly competitive Big Ten football race.

All of this means the Huskies' Penix remains firmly in the mix for this high-level prize in spite of the harder-than-expected 15-7 victory over Arizona State, the Pac-12's last-place team.

The left-hander threw a pair of interceptions while completing 27 of 42 passes for a season-low 275 yards and the UW failed to score an offensive touchdown for the first time in the Kalen DeBoer era. Penix even got roughed up a little when ASU edge rusher Clayton Smith came crashing through and hit him helmet to helmet, drew some blood and got ejected.

"It's just a busted lip, that ain't nothing," Penix said flippantly after the game.
While Penix remains very much in the running for college football's biggest individual prize, leave it to DeBoer to put everything in perspective for his high-level quarterback who's not necessarily a publicity seeker.

Where they cross over is here: Penix ranks No. 1 nationally with his 2,576 passing yards and passing yards per game of 368.00 while [Michigan's] McCarthy in those two categories stands 33rd with his 1,799 yards and 48th with 244.88 an outing.

As this Heisman Trophy race plays out, the always opionated Joel Klatt has taken it upon himself to remind everyone that it's a numbers game.

Klatt, a broadcaster, podcaster and a former Colorado Buffaloes quarterback, gives Penix the Heisman advantage should both Washington and Michigan go unbeaten to the end of the regular season, which is when the award is decided.

"Michael Penix still has the ability to go undefeated with Washington," Klatt said on his podcast this week. "If they do that, remember how they're built, his numbers are going to be through the roof. He will be impossible to catch from a numbers perspective."

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/4281059-pentagon-completes-military-base-renaming-project-confederates/

The Pentagon on Friday in a ceremony renamed the U.S. Army base in August, Ga., to honor the service of former President Eisenhower.

Fort Eisenhower, formerly known as Fort Gordon, was the last of nine military posts to receive new names as part of the Biden administrations initiative to remove names honoring Confederate soldiers.

Were proud to recognize the courage and legacy of distinguished #USArmy Soldiers like Gen. Dwight D. Eisenhower, the U.S. Army posted on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter.

The Pentagon ordered the removal of the names and items associated with Confederates at the beginning of this year. Congress appointed a Naming Commission to help rebrand the bases.

According to estimates from the commission, the renaming process will cost more than $21 million.

The Commission put forward new titles for Fort Bragg in North Carolina; Fort Benning in Georgia; Fort Lee in Virginia; Fort Pickett in Virginia; Fort A.P. Hill in Virginia; Fort Hood in Texas; Fort Polk in Louisiana; Fort Rucker in Alabama, and now Fort Gordon in Georgia.

Fort Bragg was renamed to Fort Liberty because liberty remains the greatest American value. Fort Benning is now officially Fort Moore, named after a married couples dedicated leadership during and after battle.

The three bases in Virginia were renamed to Fort Gregg-Adams (Lee), Fort Barfoot (Pickett) and Fort Walker (A.P. Hill). Gregg-Adams now honors two Black Army pioneers, Barfoot is in honor of a World War II Medal of Honor recipient and Walker honors the countrys only female Medal of Honor recipient and first female surgeon in the Civil War.

The bases in Texas, Louisiana and Alabama were renamed Fort Cavazos (Hood), Fort Johnson (Polk) and Fort Novosel (Rucker). Cavazos honors the countys first Hispanic four-star general that served in both the Korean and Vietnam wars. Johnson is in honor of Medal of Honor recipient Sgt. William Henry Johnson, who served in Word War I, and Novosel was named after a Medal of Honor recipient who rescued thousands of wounded soldiers.

Fort Gordon, which was originally named after Confederate Lt. Gen. John Brown Gordon, commemorates Eisenhower for his extensive, innovative and effective military experience and leadership, ABC News reported.

Susan Eisenhower, the former presidents granddaughter, spoke at the ceremony and spoke of her grandfathers love of the U.S. and the Augusta, Georgia community.

One college football fan evidently got a bit too much into the Halloween spirit at the Sam Houston State Bearkats game against the University of Texas at El Paso Miners game in Huntsville, Texas on Wednesday night by showing up in a giant inflatable penis costume. And let's just say the stunt didn't go over well with the university's powers that be.

The unidentified fan has since gone viral in photos and video that were taken by other spectators at the game, as the outfit temporarily seemed to get more attention than the action on the field.

However, it didn't long before the penis was ejected from the game, as one member of the security personnel could be seen gingerly leading away the fan up through the standsalbeit while seemingly barely able to contain his amusement.

https://www.tmz.com/2023/10/27/blueface-claps-back-at-kelly-stafford-over-suite-stripper-comments-karen/

Blueface is clapping back at Kelly Stafford for her criticism of his makeshift strip club at the Rams game on Sunday ... calling Matthew Stafford's wife a straight-up "Karen."

The "Thotiana" rapper went off on the Rams QB's significant other in a series of tweets on Thursday ... just a couple days after she blasted him for making it rain on nearly nude dancers in his SoFi Stadium suite over the weekend.

Blueface was adamant that what he did was fine ... tweeting that he was never kicked out for his actions -- nor was he even spoken to by stadium officials over it all.

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/user_image/8/8/2/AAcJoVAAE-0a.jpg

Interestingly enough, we reached out to both the Rams as well as SoFi Stadium multiple times about the display ... each pointed the finger at the other to take responsibility without giving any sort of response. Especially weird if even Stafford's wife had an issue with it.

As for BF, he wrote, "Matt get your wife bro before I get disrespectful," he said on his X page ... before adding, "Karen on here smh I paid for the suite if I wanted you in the suite Kelly I could have paid for that as well your nephews an daughter have seen worse on instagram if they are already on there welcome to LA."

Blueface also went after Matthew in his rant ... accusing the quarterback of being one of the reasons the Rams lost to the Steelers on the afternoon.

"I could talk about how yall lost the game an what Matt could have done better as a QB thats what his wife needs to be talking about my antics aint lose us the game," he said.

Blueface then promised to return to SoFi when the Rams play there next.
Kelly has yet to respond -- though she's made it clear she has no issues commenting on his behavior. On her "The Morning After" podcast, she railed against the MC, calling his suite antics "embarrassing" and "disappointing."

She also said she'd consider not bringing her kids to the game going forward if it wasn't dealt with.

The next game in LA isn't until Nov. 19 -- which means there's plenty of time for the two to squash their beef ... or for it all to keep stewing.
