It may get into your ventilation/ceiling and eventually wander inside, get trapped and shit everywhere.

Happened with my apartment :(

Your average bat can slip through spaces/cracks about as narrow as the thickness of dime and it doesn't need to be very wide either. Their fur makes them look thicker then they are and their bodies are oily and flexible.

Kinda similar to rats or cats ability to fit through shockingly small spaces.

I'd recommend taking a close look at your home for any openings and take measures to fix any cracks and see if its possible to add some anti bat/bird covers to things chimney or vents. Building a bat house nearby may encourage them to roost their instead of on/in your home as well.

Because many bats are protected so it may be illegal to remove it without it actually entering the living areas or being aggresive/rabid. Also it eats pest bugs like Mosquitoes.

Yeah, an exterminator told me that bats and mice can enter an opening the size of a dime.

Personally, I'm not going to read too much into tomorrow's results either way.

Yes, it's (just) under a year until the presidential election, but for Democrats, Kentucky (Beshear notwithstanding), Mississippi, and Ohio are tough cards to have in your hand, especially in an off-year. And the epic shenanigans in Ohio have drawn national attention.

NY & NJ, I expect to return to more normal patterns (for them): Liberal Democrats and/or Centrist Republicans.

I just cannot get my head around how scummy and yet alarmingly simple the whole arrangement was, from the right.

1. Ban August special elections on the grounds of their having low turnout and unfairly pushing things through that would otherwise fail Fair enough.

2. Set up an August special election two months later to make it nearly impossible for voters to ammend the state constitution, yo block an abortion amendment in November. A shitty, hypocritical move.

3. Force pro-life organizations to push "vote No on issue 1" to stop your bullshit roadblock bill.

4. Hypocritical roadblock bill fails. Good.

5. Make the abortion ammendment Issue 1, so the pro-life campaigners have to hard pivot to "Vote YES on issue 1," immediately after riding their victory and with barely two months to the election.

It's such a shameless, brazen, yet brilliantly simple move to confuse voters and flagrantly throw out the will of the people.

I only hope that it confuses the simple-minded among their own voter base, as well.

Don't forget purging ~ 180,000 registered voters in the midst of all that.

The process of purging itself - originally intended for deaths or relocations - probably cost more in time and resources than if they'd just left the names alone. There is no evidence of significant or widespread voter fraud in Ohio or anywhere else, fwiw.

As someone already mentioned, it's complicated.

When I was 16, I visited my grandmother in a home when she had Alzheimer's. She had no idea who I was, but did recognize my mother. You never know who they'll recognize and I'm told that even that may vary over time.

Now, I'm dealing with my father's Alzheimer's. He still knows who I am, but seemingly nothing about my life the last 10-15 years. I try to balance my feelings with how I'd like to be treated if I were the patient.

For now, it feels good to chat about whatever we can and he seems to enjoy it too. I've decided that when the day comes that he doesn't remember who I am, then it's best for me to just see to it that he gets the best care he can, and not put myself through the pain (and shock) of a loved one not knowing who I am. Again.

Demi Moore obviously felt it was important and worthwhile for her to be there. I hope it was.

Had Mint Mobile for a year. No problems, clear and no drops. It uses the T-Mobile Network. It's prepaid though, so you have to pay everything upfront. That $15/month is for 1 year ($180 upfront). Other, shorter plans have a higher monthly rate ($20-$25 a month).

Just switched to Tello (2 weeks). No problems so far. Clear and no drops. It uses the T-Mobile Network and is very customizable. I don't use a lot of data on my smartphone, so I took a plan with unlimited talk/text with all the data (2x) I need, for $12/month and it's month to month.

Whatever you do, shop around and don't just "settle"on a phone plan. Good luck.

Already looking ahead to the public unrest his hypothetical re-election could cause, Donald Trump and his allies are reportedly circling an idea to invoke the Insurrection Act on his first day in office, deploying the military to act as domestic law enforcement.

The Washington Post reported Sunday that the drafting of such plans has largely been unofficially outsourced to a coalition of right-wing think tanks working under the title Project 2025, according to one insider and internal communications obtained by the newspaper.

In response to questions, Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, President Trump is focused on crushing his opponents in the primary election and then going on to beat Crooked Joe Biden. President Trump has always stood for law and order, and protecting the Constitution.

The Post also reported, citing people whove spoken to him, that Trump has remarked in recent private conversations that hed like to use the Justice Department to go after his enemies, including former members of his administration like Bill Barr and Gen. Mark Milley.

https://www.wthitv.com/news/illinois/federal-appeals-court-upholds-illinois-assault-weapons-ban/article_cd3a6ee8-7b2b-11ee-970b-57ddbe9efd43.html

In a 2-1 ruling Friday, a federal appeals court ruled that Illinois assault weapon ban does not violate the U.S. Constitution, setting up a likely appeal to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The Second Amendment to the Constitution recognizes an individual right to keep and bear Arms. Of that there can be no doubt, the majority opinion began, citing a string of recent Supreme Court cases. But as we know from long experience with other fundamental rights, such as the right to free speech, the right peaceably to assemble, the right to vote, and the right to free exercise of religion, even the most important personal freedoms have their limits.

The decision involved three consolidated cases that challenged the states assault weapon ban as well as local ordinances enacted in Cook County, Chicago and Naperville. Both the state law and the Naperville ordinance were passed in response to a mass shooting last year at an Independence Day parade in Highland Park that left seven people dead and dozens more injured and traumatized.

Illinois lawmakers passed the state law during a special lame duck session in January, and Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker signed it within hours of its passage out of the General Assembly.

The new law sparked immediate challenges in both state and federal courts.

The Illinois Supreme Court upheld the law in August against narrow challenges under the state constitution. But the broader legal issues were aired in federal courts, where judges in different districts reached different conclusions.

One judge in the Southern District of Illinois ruled in April that the law violated the Second Amendment of the constitution. But two judges in the Northern District came to the opposite conclusion. Those three cases were then consolidated in the appeal to the Seventh Circuit Court of Appeals.

Judge Diane Wood wrote the majority opinion, joined in concurrence by Judge Frank Easterbrook, while in a 44-page dissent nearly as long as the opinion itself Judge Michael Brennan wrote the state and municipal governments that enacted the bans failed to meet their burden to show that their bans are part of the history and tradition of firearms regulation.

He also ripped his colleagues remarkable conclusion that personal ownership of assault-style weapons and high-powered magazines is not protected by the Second Amendment. The majority wrote the firearms banned under Illinois law are much more like machine guns and military-grade weaponry than those typically used for self-defense, like handguns.

The AR-15 is a civilian, not military, weapon, Brennan wrote. No army in the world uses a service rifle that is only semiautomatic. Even so, the majority opinion uses a civilian firearms military counterpart to determine whether it is an Arm.

Gun control advocates issued immediate statements praising the decision.
This is an important victory in the fight against gun violence, and a victory for all states and municipalities that are fighting to keep their residents safe,

Douglas Letter, chief legal officer for the anti-gun violence group Brady, said in a statement. States and cities should have the right to stop these weapons of war from decimating our communities, and this ruling demonstrates that assault weapon bans are indeed constitutional.

Gov. JB Pritzker praised the courts opinion, saying in a statement the majority recognized the assault weapons ban as a commonsense law and urging Congress to pass an assault weapons ban so Illinois is not an island surrounded by states with weak protections.

Despite constant attacks by the gun lobby that puts ideology over peoples lives, here in Illinois we have stood up and said no more to weapons of war on our streets, Pritzker said. This is a victory for the members of the General Assembly who stood alongside families, students and survivors who worked so hard to make this day a reality.

Fridays opinion comes in the midst of a series of Illinois State Police hearings on the part of the assault weapons ban law that allows gun owners who already possess banned weapons and high-capacity magazines to be able to keep them so long as theyre registered with the state.
