It was a necessary scene but it's been coming for ages so it was annoying because it's so predictable.

That was one of the better episodes since season 4. After the shitty way Episode 2 ended, this was a welcome breath of fresh air. Things moved at a good pace, there was some solid foreshadowing (I loved Tyrion's "give me ten good men and I'll impregnate the bitch" callback right before Bronn showed back up).

There were actual conversations and the episode wasn't super predictable. The siege of Casterly Rock was great... yeah, Tyrion had a deus ex machina but that's fine because it meant that we didn't waste time there and could segue into the march on Highgarden. And the Iron Fleet being there makes perfect sense if we assume that Euron didn't sail his entire fleet to King's Landing just to deliver Ellaria.

Highgarden's siege only doesn't make sense on the front that it wasn't a siege. The Tyrells are very notable for being shrewd politically and having lots of money... they are often cited for being the weakest house militarily because historically they haven't had to be. It's not surprising that they jobbed to the strongest military house (along with the Tyrell's bannermen). I'm frankly astounded at the people in this topic who wanted them to waste time on a battle where we knew the outcome easily. Also, the lack of time spent on it was better cinematography.

Ellaria made perfect sense this episode. Her key defining character trait is her love for her family. That is 98% of her character.

Jon and Tyrion don't have the same chemistry that Tyrion/Bronn had, and that's why it's so great. Both recognize that Tyrion is a talker. Jon is not, but he understands Tyrion and doesn't need a different rapport with him.

I didn't watch the trailer for the season, but the Fields of Fire thing you're mentioning has to be this next episode. Dany has no choice but to use her dragons and dothraki now.

It was propaganda to make sure you keep supporting team Dany. Sure whatever, show them confess, don't give me two minutes of her dragging it out of him, two minutes of kissing and disrobing, then the move to the bed. Hell, save that cunnilingus for the boat scene.

Euron is alright. He's just a villain though, which is pretty lame for a character in the show. The only reason Cersei hasn't completely dropped into that hole is because of Jaime and the amount of time they've invested in her. Hopefully Euron doesn't stick around as long as Ramsey though.

That infographic from the last topic point out that Sam is the most consistent character in the show. Every season, he has had plenty of scenes that usually match each other for worth based on where they are in the season.


I'm a little mad that the Grey Worm/Missandei scene was five times longer than it needed to be.

It's incredibly uncommon to have string groups without violins. If you do, it's either a cello (without other string instruments and has a distinct enough timbre by being low but clearly not a string bass) or by a bass, which is easy because nothing goes as low as it, and in those situations it would usually be in a jazz/concert band setting.

Violas are cool but see basically no use outside of full string ensemble settings.

Violins can be solo instruments, and if they are, you can tell because they're higher pitched. Otherwise, if there's a string ensemble involved, it has violins

This movie was put together real well. They were smart in making it a fresh Spidey experience, snuck in a lot of treats for Spiderfans, and I thought they did pretty well with the villain.

I'm really excited to see the character grow over the next few movies. I just hope they don't make him suddenly super-competent, but I want to see him learn to be better, and see him learn to be funnier.

It was a fresh take. The actor actually managed to play Ultimate Spidey very very well. Tobey was never a good Spiderman, just a good Peter. But an old Peter.

Like five or ten minutes? Do you want instruments involved? If so, which instruments? Is it just adults that are performing, or are kids ideally in the skit too? How many men and how many women?

Just adults, but performed for kids. Only men. Preferably not using more than 4 at the most. It's marching band, so there's drums, brass, woodwinds, colorguard.

Yeah, you just don't know the game well enough. I thought the same things until I really got more into the game and was able to understand and play around its intricacies more.

I dunno, I've played hundreds of games. I have a pretty good feel for it - and that feel is that it's a fun casual moba with neat objectives that you can just jump in for some quick games and not take too seriously.


People DO take it seriously, cuz that's what people do... but I don't think this is the game for that. It's intentionally designed not to be that game.

Maybe I'll talk about it more in depth later.

I think there's a problem with calling it a "casual" game. I think the better word to use would be "accessible". That's what Blizzard was going for in a design standpoint. They wanted people who played plenty of LoL and DotA to be able to pick up their game, figure it out, and run with it based on its differences. They also wanted people who are new to the genre to be able to pick it up without being overwhelmed.

The newbie system was designed in a bit of a hand-holdy way that is really good for new players to the genre, I feel.


My biggest gripe with them lately is hero design, but as far as the game itself... I feel it's more like soccer. Anyone can pick up and play, some more seriously than others.

It's pretty well put together. The maps are all pretty fun game modes, and a lot of heroes are pretty cool. If you are a fan of Blizzard then it can be really extra cool. Pretty easy to just start playing, though actually understanding the different maps took me awhile.

That said, it's a more spammy type game like League, and on top of that there's no personal growth in exp or items compared to other players, so every game kinda feels the same. Just run at opponents, spam spells, try to complete objectives.


It's fun to play for awhile but I really can't take it too seriously. Since there's not really a difference in experience between teams unless one side is REALLY stomping, there isn't a big difference in feeling between losing and winning. Which is good for reducing toxicity and raging I guess.... but the reason that stuff happens in other mobas is because players are just so invested in the game. I feel like HotS lost something important here

As someone who has played LoL for years in the past (even with you Ana), HotS basically is good in every way that LoL/DotA is bad. Shorter game lengths, multiple maps, much less toxicity. There's more variety, whereas variety in LoL was "did I get a bad teammate I'll have to deal with for 45 minutes" or "I got less CS this time lol".

HotS takes away creep farming, but still has exp farming. The game is heavily based on player interaction, and each map has specific objectives that force you to play the map in a different way than just staying in lane/rotating to others.


Pretty much what Shake said - HotS is an amazing game because it's way easier to pick up, especially for those of us who don't have the energy/time for long LoL/DotA games anymore.
