so did anyone else feel like the director wanted us to root for bronn and jaime there? they were clearly in the underdog position. on top of that tyrion and jaime both have that moment where they are surveying all of the destruction like 'why in the hell does this need to happen.' really made dany seem like she needed to be shot down.

maybe my own personal preferences are clouding my judgement here since I'm a huge lannister mark and targaryen hater, though.

Tyrion still likes Jaime in the show. No reason not to. I think it was just harder for him to watch his countrymen die than he expected it to be.

He always liked Jaime. I think Dany questioning his allegiance was a neat bit of foreshadowing that this is still his family, and I don't think until he saw the battle he actually understood the consequences of turning on his family and what that entailed. It struck me that until that happened he never considered the possibility of Jaime dying.

He made it pretty clear and Jaimes bond to his father was ironclad. He takes it as if he didnt release Tyrion that his father would stull be alive and thus he killed his father by releasing him.

Stark reunion was great though. Also Bran just straight up cheating now. Wasn't "Chaos is a ladder" a scene spoken inside the Red Keep? no trees there.

If you love someone enough to betray your other family members by releasing him, you don't instantly forget all of that. Maybe he does have an issue with Tyrion, maybe he even hates Tyrion, but it's still more complex than "I'll kill him immediately".

Underrated bit of directing - the closeup on Bran's face when he said that was terrific.

Daenerys hasn't gone full heel. Not yet, anyway.

Her attack on that supply chain was a half measure between her desire to go all Mad Queen on Westeros and everyone else telling her "no. don't do that." Though the fact that they could only argue her down to a half-measure is... progress?

Well I mean, she's better than Cersei. I love Cersei's character, but I 100% want her dead.

I ultimately think she's a good person, just childish and impatient (she's still very young in the show). She has a tendency towards petulance and naivety but has good ideas and would definitely care more about the people than Cersei.

I dunno, I like her character quite a bit. She's not a super goody two shoes and the more allies she loses the more she's going to go all crazy Targaryen, but that's good. Maybe the show oversells her virtues but that's starting to be tested the more she says "let me go kill everyone".

I thought he was dead for sure because he's wearing armor and will sink and drown.

Hollywood. It wouldn't make sense for him to be saved by the fire just to die right after. He could easily come to and unstrap his armor, or get fished out.

This strikes me as a way for him to possibly both survive the battle and escape capture - if he's in the lake, he could be rescued and get away. But it'd be interesting to see him captured.

I know, but... man maybe even after all this I still give the show too much credit. I thought it was supposed to be ironic or something. He's saved from the dragon only to immediately be put in a just as lethal situation where he'll die anyway.

I mean, he has one hand, obviously wasn't expecting that so it's not like he'd have taken a deep breath to maximize his time before he runs out of air, is in a surprisingly deep part of water...

Possibly stupid question, but is Bronn dead? He was the one who saved Jaime, right? Did he get hit by the dragon flame, while Jaime fell into the water? There was a reason why they did so many callbacks for Bronn and his motivations this episode, right?
