4. reduce the amount of bad stuff you eat - read up on how your body processes pretty much everything and anything, how it responds to trends, etc

stepping on the scale every day (first thing) is good but you will likely not lose proper weight right away. you might just have variable amounts of solids/liquids in you at any given time.

does Discord speed up the issues with the board? ehh. It's just an alternative that many remaining users prefer. And we've lost a lot of users who provided content that was better handled by message boards.

I don't think discord removes a ton of content from the board. throw-away social topics "what are you doing this weekend" don't get a ton of posts these days.

Also the board seems more geared to people like me who are fine to rot away here, instead of luring new people, or promoting people like me to be more active. and maybe they just don't have the resources to give the site a makeover, really.

BrBa's final villains were less about the villains and more about Jessie and Walt imo. They broke so bad that they went outside of the law, so we're not dealing with well crafted characters that have to straddle the line of good and bad. They don't have a guy who runs a family chicken restaurant with some meth dungeon downtown. They just have a meth dungeon.

The White Walkers are a good analogy here because it doesn't really matter what their backstory is, they are just here to kill the living.

Team deathmatch so far has been my fave. I don't think I like the new map that FFA runs on and I keep getting dumped into matches with 2 minutes left.

It was interesting to look at Dany losing her strength and the Lannisters stretching themselves thin to do it. Not everything was perfect, but through episode 4, this season was intriguing. We were still dealing with the "Dany was in the last scene of the episode" complaints as being the main type of problem people seemed to have.

Having Bronn/Jamie teleport underwater, having everything fall into Cersei's lap and everyone believing her, the plan up north to capture a wight and teleporting Gendry sending a teleporting raven to teleporting Dany (which is somehow the trigger for her to go north to help?) and having the Night King/WWers not strike the prone dragon with a bunch of enemies on it so they could kill a flying dragon, and (not my complaint) having the army of the dead arrive at the wall and only seem to use the dragon, with no other obvious plan.

Basically Dany showed up, got her allies killed off and made her opponents stronger. Whatever successes she has had has also had the effect of empowering her enemies. The set pieces are cool, much of the dialog is good, but they just seemed to want to have people talking about the cool stuff the next day and who cares if Gendry ran 50 miles in the snow one fine afternoon.

ratings are going to go up. everyone watches this show now and we're headed for some big stuff and it's going to be hyped and advertised like crazy.

the real question is... will the showrunners have read enough negative press that they don't want to feel like they're messing up the show, or are they going to be too oblivious to it? this season's interviews sounded like they weren't worried about it, but, it's not like they were going to delay the shows to fix concerns.

I'm sad on your behalf. I was actually probably able to enjoy the season more because the show 'broke' for me much earlier, so I sadly came to expect garbage like that.

It was going well for me until Bronn and Jamie surfaced on the other side of the ocean from the Epic Loot Train Battle. It's like they planned backwards, and no two episodes had agreement how the over-arching story should play out. and at times, even that is too kind.

But don't feel too bad for me! Think about how hype I was for the loot train battle. And in 4 months I'll have forgotten my major gripes and say "yeah how did Gendry run so fast, whatever, I'm dying for season 8 to get here"

I haven't had large problems with the show until this season. Arya in Bravos was kinda boring. I don't know that I've ever really had a grasp on Essos. Jon Snow being brought back wasn't done very well. But I never felt like the show had major problems until now. Jamie and Bronn emerging from the water in 7-5 was just so damn jarring.

I think it's an OK basketball trade - the C's are a better playoff team now. Remember this past postseason was a real struggle. This trade solves problems for both teams.

Value-wise, the Cavs won, but, you can only deal in "value" so long before you need to try and strike (Boston)

It's weird that one episode has soured people on this season so much. I agree it was a terrible episode, but this season has been very high quality over all. Spoils Of War is still a top ten episode for the entire series.

The mission to get a white walker is a big deal. That normally would be a season long plot, as Jon Snow fails to recruit people to accompany him and then says F it and takes the north's finest. They capture a wight and send two guys south with it while they distract the White Walker army and lead them away. They then have a standoff while Dany is notified and comes north to save this guy she's got a thing for. A nice contract between Dany and Stannis.

Instead the whole thing is rushed within an episode, and any "how are they going to get out of this?" questions are answered with teleporting and arbitrary character decision making. The past two episodes have not made me feel like I'm in good hands, and I'm very forgiving of this stuff.

Bill Simmons once put a 5-year moratorium on any complaining about a team's performance after a championship. This would go double for a team like the Cubs. If you had told me in April 2016 that we would win the WS guaranteed in exchange for 10 subsequent seasons of 100 losses, I'd take it in a heartbeat.

But I'd feel really disappointed if Milwaukee or St. Louis takes the division this year. Am I spoiled?

Unless your team does a fire sale, then it's not realistic. Your team is competitive and it should be competitive. You are in the heat of the race, you should feel the way that you do. After winning the WS, you want to make the postseason.

The larger point of considering yourself fortunate for seeing a championship, yeah, for sure.
