Okay, I just had the dumbest Deathmatch:

- Half the players were Junkrat, which was hilarious. I started getting fearful of the fallen chairs laying on the ground all over the place because there were Steel Traps everywhere.
- Those Junkrats kept on blowing themselves off the map, which was even more hilarious because you'd hear his scream echo every minute.
- We actually timed out. To get perspective on how bad everybody was I was in the lead for the entire match and I was terrible.

I actually really like this mode.

They just fixed the collision detection for his Rocket Punch, so you're less likely to hit stuff next to your charge. It's a buff for people who're actually good (you won't accidentally hit a Reinhardt when trying to kill the Zenyatta beside him) and a nerf for people who aren't (you won't still hit someone who dodged out of the way of you).

I like how the main purpose here was to make Roadhog take damage better for himself or the team when his damage reduction is completely negated the instant his healing is stopped by anything. This means you absolutely cannot be anywhere near McCree, Roadhog, Reinhardt, Mei, Doomfist or Sombra because they can halt your tanking with their abilities. They're the same enemies he always need to watch out for when using his heal, but now it's especially so if you plan on doing any kind of tanking.

The only real counter the other tanks have to their tanking abilities is being hacked or charged I guess. They at least have ways to protect themselves. Roadhog has absolutely nothing protecting him from characters who stop his new tanking aside from other tanks tanking for him and in that case why would you even want him as your second tank?

Feel like they need to fix the spawn spots in Deathmatch. I literally spawned right next to enemies 3 times in a row and died immediately because I was Mercy. Like I died before I could even switch to my pistol and attempt to defend myself what the hell

I don't really like Deathmatch as much as the other modes. FFA needs more than one stage and a couple characters are borderline worthless for the mode. I also don't like how the only point that matters is the killing blow. You can get all the kills in the world, but no actual points unless you delivered the final blow and that's kinda dumb. Why even have an Assist counter in the mode if they don't matter at all? The Team one is a little better, but I think they can increase the stages to full length instead of just small parts. The limited size really decreases the areas you can spawn in and I've been spawned right next to enemies and immediately killed more times than I can count.

Deathmatch is a lot of fun but Overwatch absolutely isn't balanced around it. It's easily my favorite of the arcade modes but the actual game is still the best for OW. If I wanted super legit deathmatch I'd play Quake (which I do. >_>)

Is there any point even picking Reinhardt in FFA Deathmatch? Pretty sure he's one of the worst characters you could pick for that mode. Ana has no Ultimate so that sucks. We don't have the new Mercy update so she has no ultimate for the mode too. Honestly the map and mode seems to favor extremely mobile characters and guys like Junkrat who can cause mass damage in small rooms. Of all the matches I played barely anybody picked a healer, but Zenyatta seems like he would be pretty solid in FFA. Can self heal some, discord and best of all he makes no movement noises whatsoever.

Almost all the tanks seem like they would be bad picks for FFA. Winston would be great if it wasn't full of Roadhogs, Reapers, Junkrats and Soldiers :(

The only issue is all Mercy has is her HP regen and pistol. She can't use Guardian Angel or her Ultimate. She's not bad, but not really ideal to use.

I've seen Reins and Winstons do well in FFA, but it's a rare occasion. Rein can be scary in the basement too with how much space he takes up. Genjis are common, and Winston is still a very effective hard counter. If there's just one Reaper and/or Roadhog, you can manage as the gorilla.

Haven't seen D.Va be successful, and I haven't seen Zarya at all, which is kinda surprising since she can melt multiple opponents in team games. Think I'll try her and Rein out soon!

Probably because Zarya loses half her charge potential since she can only barrier herself. I see like 4 Junkrats per round at least so being Reinhardt would just be a bad idea.

Good point about the barrier charge! Just surprised that I've seen no one try her at least once when I've seen freakin' Ana in FFA.

The times I saw Rein do well there was only one Junkrat. Lots of Genjis and McCrees and Tracers though!
