There have been a LOT of prayers. Hopefully it pussies out entirely.

Well the best case scenario is it veers east (unlikely at this point but let's hope) and the eye wall stays off land. If it makes landfall in south carolina it'd be as a cat 3 which still is major but not as bad by definition.

I clicked the topic and one of the recent posts was "it shifted West again", and I was just saying I wished it shifted more West.

I have great home insurance that covers more than the value of my home, plus my house has a storm shelter built into it.

If a hurricane is going to hit anywhere, I'd be ok with it hitting here.

Home insurance always covers more than the value of your home. The question is does it cover enough to rebuild your home and replace all your valuables lost?

It's already going to hit others that have nothing to do with me.

In fact, my area is less populous than Southern Florida up through Atlanta and Charleston on its current path, so it'd affect less people if it swung more into the Gulf and hit here.

So I am going to be fine (I am going to be in the path of the storm, but I will be more inland so the deadly storm surge won't be a problem) but my house is literally 1.1 miles from the gulf of mexico.

You do realize the right of the eye is the strongest part of the storm and not the eye right?

I wanted it to get far enough out where the entire eye wall was in the gulf. Instead it just looks like a direct impact on Sarasota or as you say just west of it which is very bad.
