The attackers who were detained in the Bryansk region earlier this morning were "intending to cross over to Ukraine" and had "contacts on the Ukrainian side", Russia's security agency has said, according to Russian state-owned news agency Ria Novosti.

It was widely expected that Russia would attempt to link Ukraine to the attacks, and the FSB's claim cannot at this stage be independently verified.

When news of the attack broke last night, Mykhailo Podolyak - an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky - categorically denied Ukrainian involvement, saying his country had "absolutely nothing to do with these events".

Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and has been at war with its neighbour ever since.

Nobody thought that Ukraine would do it. There was speculation that, absent anyone claiming credit, that Russia would push propaganda that it was Ukraine to boost their war efforts.

Weirdly this is the best possible outcome in terms of who did it. ISIS coming right out and taking credit makes it harder/impossible for Russia to blame Ukraine, ISIS is largely uninvolved in the Israel conflict right now so it doesn't draw Russia deeper in that conflict either. It also makes Putin look ineffective, especially since he called the US embassy warning "provocative" and dismissed them on TV earlier in the week. Russia's only response will likely be to get more involved in Syria where ISIS has a strong presence which will pull them away from Ukraine.

Another series with a weird option around difficulty is Disgaea, where you can literally increase the difficulty level at any point which increases the enemy levels and abilities. It's mostly used to let the same grinding spots be effective up to level 9999, but it technically does mean if you want a challenge at any point you can just crank up the levels.

Starting to see some posts on social media saying isis has taken responsibility, but the BBC live update feed hasn't made any sort of mention yet, so be aware for any misinformation that might be out there right now.

This is probably the most likely one because Russia is apparently planning another wave of mobilizations for an assault on Kharkiv. Very convenient that just after the "election" there's a sudden terrorist attack so they can justify sending thousands more to die in what would be their biggest city battle so far in the name of revenge.

Even if it wasn't a false flag, Russia is absolutely going to blame this on Ukraine and then use it as an excuse for a dramatic uptick in atrocities.

This whole fight has been a dumpster fire. The red letter media guys did somewhat of an expose on it, and I'm sure a lot of other individuals or groups have now too, but the short version is that Adam Sandler and his crew are very good at producing passable comedies with a massive amount of sponsorship and product placement that basically lets them all go on a vacation, shoot some half-assed comedy scenes, and then walk away with like 10 million+ each. Studios don't complain because the movies always turn a profit, so technically speaking it's win-win for everybody.

Also keep in mind that since he owns Happy Madison productions, which makes all of these movies, the overhead is probably extremely low relative to how much money can go directly to the actors.

Highly selective quoting. It's not an access point from the hospital to the underground bunker, it's the bunker tapping electricity and water from the hospital. Calling this a 'connection' as a justification for a military siege on a hospital is quite the stretch.

Hamas and doctors at the hospital have previously denied accusations that the complex was used for military purposes and dismissed the evidence presented by Israeli officials.

You would think the director of the hospital would be the first person to come out and say that Hamas had in fact taken the hostages there on the day of the attack. Or are we playing this game where it's technically true when he said that the hospital hadn't been used for military purposes even though he had explicitly seen Hamas bring in injured Israeli hostages?

The tunnels were part of their justification that Hamas was using that location. When Israel found some weapons people joked because it was only a handful of weapons. Then they found the tunnels. Then they released the video footage of the hostages being taken there.

If the original argument was that Israel was attacking a hospital for the sole purpose of terrorizing the people of Gaza and that there was no evidence Hamas was there or using it, you have to at least acknowledge that Israel was correct in believing that Hamas had used that location even if you want to continue arguing that the damage done wasn't proportional to the level of threat currently present.

Many of these more recent stories also involve something like a family member dying and their children coming to clean up the house for sale only to find somebody has decided it's theirs now.

But it's much easier to pretend that every squatter is someone who would be homeless otherwise sitting in a completely unoccupied home that some landlord doesn't even use because they have 10 other properties. For some people it's important to villainize the victim first so it's easier for them to state their opinion.

You also skipped over the part where Hamas denied using the hospital before Israel released video footage showing them going into the hospital with hostages on the date of the attack.

As for the article you yourself provided, it acknowledges that there was a connection from the hospital to the tunnels but only in one surgery center. It also acknowledges the witnesses, the footage showing hostages were taken there, and that there are tunnels underneath.

Nobody is stealing anything. They would need to live there 10 years before they could think of taking possession of it. They are claiming to be tenants. In which case, if they can't produce a contract then it is considered a month to month lease (iirc) and they can be evicted within 30 days.

Again, this is an inconvenience for the homeowner but if the squatter doesn't have a place to live, this could be life and death for them. If this drags out longer then that period because the courts are notoriously slow, then that's on the courts and not on the people inhabiting the house.

TC is siding with decisions made with full consideration for the real world impact of those decisions, rather than a fantasy-based approach where consequences, justified or not, don't exist. Rather than pretending these companies wouldn't do exactly what they said (and are) doing, they should have been thinking about how to resolve those issues in the bill itself.

Instead they commissioned a study, voted prior to the results, found out their own study didn't agree with them, and are now desperately backpedaling because of the outcome of the vote. All things that could and should have been avoided if competent people were involved.

It wouldn't be nearly as big of a deal if Apple didn't charge obscene prices for storage upgrades. Charging an extra $100 or more to add 128 GB of storage is insane when I can buy a 1TB high speed microSD card for less, which on a related note is one of the key reasons why they got rid of the SD card slot.
