You already know this though. Enjoy that smug little smirk on your face as you hug the body pillow in moms basement knowing you used dead people to own the libs. You're a hero.

... And Russia is trying to blame Ukraine anyway.
https://www.bbc.com/news/live/world-68642036?src_origin=BBCS_BBC
The attackers who were detained in the Bryansk region earlier this morning were "intending to cross over to Ukraine" and had "contacts on the Ukrainian side", Russia's security agency has said, according to Russian state-owned news agency Ria Novosti.

It was widely expected that Russia would attempt to link Ukraine to the attacks, and the FSB's claim cannot at this stage be independently verified.

When news of the attack broke last night, Mykhailo Podolyak - an adviser to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky - categorically denied Ukrainian involvement, saying his country had "absolutely nothing to do with these events".

Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 and has been at war with its neighbour ever since.

The lack of opposition is really a result of Putin punishing politicians for trying to take him down.

Even if there were a hundred other candidates Putin would still rake in the vast majority of votes because they would just stuff the ballot boxes and destroy non-Putin votes.

Putin claiming it was Ukraine is pretty on brand.

Isis has actually put out a second statement once again taking credit and providing a few details. I think they may actually be annoyed that Russia is trying to pin it on Ukraine when they are explicitly trying to take credit.

From the BBC live thread:
The Islamic State group has issued a follow-up statement offering more details about last nights attack on a concert hall on the outskirts of Moscow, which the group earlier said it was behind.

The new details - published via IS group accounts on messaging app Telegram - say four attackers were involved in the deadly assault, and includes a picture claiming to show the four assailants, all masked. The update comes from the group's news outlet Amaq, which was also the source of the initial claim.

Neither of the two IS Amaq statements indicated which of IS's regional branches was responsible for the attack.

In terms of motive, Amaq says "the attack comes in the context of normal ongoing war between the Islamic State and [anti-Islam] countries".

The IS mouthpiece says the attack was carried out by "fighters" who it says were armed with "machine guns, a gun, knives and incendiary bombs", and that the attack was preceded by a "concerted" reconnaissance mission.

Russia has not yet commented on the claims but the US has said it's credible that the Islamic State group could be behind the attack.

Russia isn't giving up on this. They're literally using AI deepfake evidence on their national television continuing to push the Ukraine narrative:
One of Russia's major channels, NTV, has broadcast a fake video using AI-generated audio of a top Ukrainian security official in an attempt to blame Ukraine for last night's attack.

In the video, which has also been widely shared online, Ukraine's top security official Oleksiy Danilov appears to say: "It is fun in Moscow today. I think it's a lot of fun. I would like to believe that we will arrange such fun for them more often."

However, BBC Verify has established that the video is a composite of two interviews published in the last week. The voice of Danilov was likely generated using AI technology, according to an expert.

The two interviews used to create the fake video can be accessed on YouTube, one - dated 19 March - features Danilov and the other - dated 16 March - Ukraine's military intelligence chief Kyrylo Budanov.

The presenters interviewing Budanov can be seen in the fake NTV video, wearing the exact same clothes with identical backgrounds behind them.

The quote by Danilov which appears in the NTV video cannot be heard in the original interview from 16 March, making it likely that the audio is AI-generated.

Sam Gregory, an expert on AI-generated content, has told BBC Verify that the video aired by NTV was likely a "deepfake" and Danilov's voice in it appeared to be a "voice clone deepfake".

This is russia. We shouldn't assume all the shooters got out alive, just that Russia has found four people they are planning on putting the blame on. If we're lucky, most of those will have actually been the shooters.

Given how hard they're pushing this Ukraine narrative, I wouldn't be shocked if they just dragged out a couple of POWs, tortured the hell out of them, and tried to record some sort of false confession.

The fact that isis has released a picture showing the four attackers, albeit masked, will actually go a long way towardd determining whether the people Russia caught are the same folks or not once those mugshots eventually get released.

Reminds me of that joke about MI6, CIA, and the KGB going into a forest to find a wolf.
The MI6 asks every forest critter where the wolf is, but comes out empty-handed, the CIA burns some trees and also comes with nothing, but the KGB returns with a beaten-up rabbit who confesses to being a wolf.

Russian media is saying that the captured gun men are from Tajikistan, and that one of them revealed he was paid to be part of the attack.

also, how there was an escape prepared for them to Ukraine:

Russian media broadcast videos that apparently showed the detention and interrogation of the suspects, including one who told the cameras he was approached by an unidentified assistant to an Islamic preacher via a messaging app and paid to take part in the raid.

Putin said authorities detained a total of 11 people in the attack, which also wounded more than 100. He called it a bloody, barbaric terrorist act and said Russian authorities captured the four suspects as they were trying to escape to Ukraine through a window prepared for them on the Ukrainian side of the border.

Russian news reports identified the gunmen as citizens of Tajikistan, a former Soviet republic in Central Asia that is predominantly Muslim and borders Afghanistan. Up to 1.5 million Tajiks have worked in Russia and many have Russian citizenship.

Sadly, theyre likely to do so sooner rather than later since the FSB shares a lot in common with its Cold War predecessor, and the KGB didnt exactly play around when it came to getting people to confess to things they didnt even know happened, much less be the cause of.

I can only hope the poor sods get a quick release from their little chat with the FSB afterwards, as theyre likely already begging to be put out of their misery as it stands.

I think it's more likely that Russia reinstates the death penalty and they get kept alive so they can be publicly executed.
