Obviously only applies if the main character is the same in both games.

Baldur's Gate 2 sort of does this, but you instead lose all of the equipment you gained.

I don't get into the games enough to do much in the way of breeding. This is much easier for me, a filthy casual.

I don't blame you. I bred a shiny Lilligant with own tempo and nearly perfect IVs... only for it to have a neutral nature instead of modest. I still use her, of course, but breeding is a lot of effort.
