Well yeah but it's hard to plan for exactly when they happen cause the workers/promotions/whatever you're negotiating with take variable days to respond to your requests. And you can't advance a day without completing the negotiation if it's been replied to.

I'd assume we'd have to email the save file around back and forth. Or use a google group and keep reuploading or something. How multiplayer works is you have 4 people playing on the same day, they all do the day, then the day advances based on the actions of all 4. It's really inefficient.

Jeff Jarrett is backstage with VC "Cliff" Compton. They rip into him a bit, then Jarrett says if Styles hadn't interfered last week the title problem would be fixed. AJ interrupts them and says if he hadn't interfered they would've just made the match end in a dq because they're incompetent! Jarrett: How about a match tonight... AJ: I accept! Jarrett: ... with my good friend VC. Compton is like "what" but AJ seems fine with it either way. (70)

Angelina Love, Winter, and Hamada are in the ring. Winter says that Hamada has accepted her role, and has devoted herself to the Knockouts Title. She too, will defend the title with every match, and tonight as a token of Winter's faith, Hamada will defend for her against ODB. Winter produces yet another Knockouts Title replica and puts it on Hamada. Hamada shouts some stuff in Japanese and beats her chest while the Boogie Knights argue some more about whether she can speak English (64) Hamada d. ODB-- Winter helps ODB and leads her backstage. Sting comes out... says that he knows Kurt is doing this crap to get back at him, but if he really wants to get back at him, he should face him a match. Kurt ponders a bit... and says if Sting wants a match, he has to prove he's a worthwhile opponent. If he can last even 15 minutes with Samoa Joe tonight, he'll consider it, but for now, hell freaking no. (90) Sting vs Samoa Joe. Joe gives Sting everything he can handle and is in control for most of the match, but at a little over 14 minutes Sting catches Joe in the Scorpion Death Lock for the win. Sting menacingly points with his bat at a smirking Kurt who's giving him a golf clap from the front row while the show fades out. (98!!)

If you pop an early ignite on her instead of trying to use it for the deathblow it'll gimp out both of her heals-- granted this only works if your carry is highly coordinating you unless you're a crazy support that brings ignite (sometimes this is me but I digress). Also presumably you have heal too so if they turn to fight expecting summoner heal to turn the tide it's just going to break the fight even.

I'm also not really sure what seeing it coming does except make her evacuate the bush way before you get in in which case that's still a win for you. It's not like Taric who can stun you right before you enter the bush and pulverize you while his carry smacks you a couple of times while you sit there stunned, or Leona or Ali or Lulu or Janna who can chain CC you, or Sona who can Q-> (possible E/W) -> Power Chord you for decent burst/cc or etc etc. Soraka just has no real defense to a hostile bush takeover early. Even maxed E isn't that potent. She's got a great poke with her banana toss but outside a bush she can't really use it that much cause of creep aggro and her target's mobility.

But yeah I don't think we're ever gonna see eye to eye so I'll just give up discussing this. If someone has like, something I'm overlooking from a numbers perspective or her typical build giving her some special benefit other supports don't get, by all means, but right now it just kinda boils down to "she's tough" "y" "n" "y" I think she's quite good with carries that guzzle mana with good harass abilities but overall feel her lane presence is weak against aggression and just plain weak overall with some of the carries she's often paired with. I guess in a meta that discourages aggression to some extent that makes her seem better early than she actually is, but once people figure that out better she should fall off in use a bit imhhho-- until people start using mana cost heavy carries with good abilities bot more often.

I still think Soraka is good mind you I just don't think laning is her best phase and is actually one of her weaknesses all things considered. Totally acknowledge there might be something I'm not seeing though-- I mean I don't actually use Soraka so I definitely would not know best on this.

And yeah I was only speaking up because KP said something that's like, totally the opposite of my usual case (and what seems to make sense from the numbers)-- not cause I think she's gimpy or something.

I find from experience that's just not true.

The thing with Soraka is if you don't kill her she is better equipped to heal her side than any other healer. So it is really all or nothing for the most part. She doesn't need to restore all of the HP right away, she'll just do it faster. And there is no way her side is taking equal damage per a pop because of the MR/armor bonuses she provides.

She has some bad match ups, but not many.

Her heal isn't actually that great though. Unless she's maxing it (Sytha claims she usually maxes silence first?) it's actually the least potent heal these days when you factor cooldowns in. (though ironically the best heal in burst situations despite me downplaying her burst)

I dunno. I'm just saying in my personal experience she's the least intimidating support and has been for a while now. Whether that's due to my playstyle, random luck of getting bad Sorakas in my lanes, or other, I don't know. She used to be a monster for sustain because her heal healed more and the cooldown was halved, and she could use the mana regen move on herself as well as her ally. But now? Very winnable lane that has lots of weaknesses and I'd personally put her on the lower end of supports for laning support and don't think laning is close to her best time these days.

But I mean, I definitely acknowledge I could be wrong here. I'm just saying the numbers on her abilities these days don't exactly make me doubt that my results are especially atypical, either. Perhaps you're underrating your ability to synergize correctly with Sorakas too?

He didn't say it was impossible for the lanes to do anything to each other he said the meta supports them not attempting to do anything to each other because it's just easier to try and farm your best and wait for a gank to make a move given the current meta.

Also I believe he was only talking about solo top in particular. Bot and mid aren't "farm fests"-- they can be but that doesn't mean that's necessity (or even necessarily a result of the mechanics when it does happen)

So... you can equilibrium farm in LoL just like you can in Dota if you get lucky and the creep waves happen to start in the enemy's favor. Doesn't really seem that great.

That's not really a matter of "luck" It will happen several times over the course of any given game. It's just a matter of recognizing when it's happening and acting accordingly.

In fact, similar to zoning, you could say it requires more skill to freeze a lane in League due to the lack of denying. Which is actually preferred to me, as it gives you something to do during laning that is more involved than looking at lifebars and last hitting. You take a trade off of it not being able to be done at all times cause of denies not existing, but it's a worthwhile trade to me. That's my whole problem with denying actually-- it's a kind of interesting mechanic on its own but it makes a lot of other things a lot easier to do as a result and to me makes laning a lot less interesting generally. I will admit that DotA games will be more interesting to watch generally early game because of this and especially ganks being easier, but that doesn't mean it''s less interesting to play. It's kinda like Marvel 3 vs SF4 in that regard. Only sickos watch SF4 streams cause the footsies are kinda boring, but when you're actually doing it there's totally an argument for being the more satisfying game.

Has to get in range to be able to use it before silence.

Eh I still don't see what the big deal with the silence is. If people are running after a 1.5 second silence that does 50 damage that's their problem. Me I just keep going towards her and that usually makes her run (unless my carry/support is a doofus that doesn't see fit to follow me in-- in which case I have to chicken out and eat free harass).

She's p easy to flush out of bushes if you just coordinate a dive in (especially if you have a ward in the bush). The silence is pretty soft CC compared to the stuns you could have from other supports like Ali/Taric/Leona and her burst is bad unless she's doing something weird like maxing Starcall first. If you let her stay in the bush and harass harass harass it's very obnoxious but they key is to not let that happen. I think pretty much any support is better geared for an early game brush battle to the death than Soraka is assuming both sides come in at full hp (this is the issue of course given her harass is very good-- but it's doable)

Well I wasn't saying he needs to valk in to do any damage but like, to burst as quick as he can I'd think he would. Like his gatling gun's range is pretty small and if you dive Soraka you're probably going towards the bush and he's in the middle of the lane.

I dunno though like I said my laning experience vs Corki is kinda limited and I don't think I've ever actually played against Raka + Corki so I admit I may be underestimating his contribution to the duo a bit. I just know that I beat Soraka more often than not bot. Taric support is the one that gives me problems during laning more than anything. I go at him to flush him out he stuns me and they beat the crap out of me. We stay back and we get zoned. It's like what you were saying Soraka does when you charge her except the silence does twice the damage, actually does stun you, and can be backed up with a pulverize for legit burst from Taric.

But it's probably largely styles. If I was better at extended poke matches the weakness of Taric's heal would probably be exposed I guess.

Well yeah that's why Soraka + Corki seems troublesome as I said (I haven't laned against this personally but I've had the most trouble with Soraka/Ez out of any Soraka pairing which is similar). Corki's high damage will offset Soraka's low damage and he has a good escape. Ideally you are hitting the carry there and that's why you win the lane easier early. But I also think for Corki to unload on you optimally he needs to valk in cause his range kinda sucks. And if he valks in you can hit him because that means he's not valking out. He's also one of the squishier AD carries so he is prone to bursting.

Also I would call Soraka's ult kinda mid tier as it relates to ability to mess with team fights in laning for your usual supports. Sona's and Lulu's are both more lane dominant I think.

But yeah basically against a Soraka lane if you can establish bush control you probably win the lane unless your carry is a total pansy or you get ganked a lot cause she can't really flush you out that well. I just think a lot of carries and/or supports (only takes one being intimidated for the lane to be pretty much unwinnable) are more intimidated by UNLIMITED HEALING than they should be and let it turn into a poke fest when that shouldn't happen.

Anyway yeah the key there is you don't sulk. That nancy stun can't stop you you just plow in. They either turn to face you and you CC her (or corki if he valks over for the save) when your silence is over or they run and you CC her when your silence is over. They can't burst you down in one second because they've got Soraka in their lane. And you've got a shield. And probably heal too. If you can get through the 1.5 second silence without dying you win that exchange if you bulldoze.

(This assumes they're not like, pushed to their tower obviously.)

In any case that's probably why I mentioned Viola too despite thinking they were both minor, just so you could have some frame of reference. Actually kinda doubt she'd even get on a list like this though. But maybe in one of the later spots like Sorrow did for you.

The Sorrow's pretty great just for his "boss fight" being some creepy crap. Particularly if you get hit by that death beamish thing he shoots (which you didn't mention!)

Also are you implying The Sorrow is minor or what? I don't really consider him minor. I consider like, Raikov minor (his name is Major Raikov). But a dude with a boss fight and significant plot relevance? I dunno.

Anyway depending on how minor you need to be considered minor I'd give the crown to either Zamza from Suikoden 2 (some random guy you can recruit to be in your party-- badass Arabianesque look, shinryuken special attack, and a total narcissist to the point where it's kind of hilarious-- no plot relevance whatsoever) or Viola Cadaverini from PW3 (hee hee hee...)'

They probably both qualify by your definition (and as you said have most people saying "what" when I tell them how great the characters are) but I still don't think the Sorrow is one!

You haven't actually played Suikoden 2, right? I didn't elaborate on Zamza more than I needed to right (of course not, you can never elaborate too much on Zamza either way)

Yeah I know you will lose if you get in a poke off that's why I'm saying you gotta go in for blood.

Like Janna can win that lane if she goes on Raka for the kill. Normally you'd go for the carry but lol Valkyrie. But I'd take Janna + Graves to at least be able to win that for instance as long as they aren't hugging their tower. You smash into raka with W+Q and Graves lunges in and shotgun blasts her-- if one of you have ignite she probably just rolls over from that. Other supports like say Taric can counter this attempt by stunning graves as he comes at you or whatever. I guess Soraka has silence but that's not going to outright win the fight either since their burst is still better than yours without the shotgun blast. The problem is if this doesn't work you just blew a ton of mana on nothing since Soraka will heal to full quicker than you will, but I do feel that it's generally worth the investment-- specially if the raka is with a carry that doesn't have great escapes. Perhaps given ideal play it's not as "easy" as I'm making it out to be but I'm just saying I have much more trouble with lanes backed with harder CC generally-- but it might be due to my aggressive laning style working better against more passive champs like Soraka that can't punish you as hard if a dive is mistimed.

I would agree that Corki probably is her best partner though cause he has an a+ escape out of the box and a blind so it's tough to burst him (and obviously you'd rather initiate on the carry if you're trying to flush them out) and his range disadvantage is mitigated by unlimited healing.

It's hard to lose bot with Soraka but it's also hard to win it cause she can't really help you burst things down or anything.

Like if you try gradual harass Soraka owns you but if you just brute in and go for blood you probably win the lane if you've got like Taric or Poppy or Lulu or Alistar backing you up.

At least that's what I tend to notice. I never really sweat Soraka lanes too much unless we've got a really dumb lane comp like Shen + Yi or something. (or my lanemate is passive as hell-- which doesn't happen often since I'm usually the support when I'm down there and carries will tend to follow you in if you initiate... usually)
