Well I agree with what you were saying, anyway, motive is very important.
I'm not sure we quite agree on what is sufficient motive to be considered "evil" rather than "a hooligan" though-- not really gonna pry on this though cause I'm bored of the topic and I fear if I keep going I either might come off as more condescending than I already am to the point where it pisses everyone off and/or I can't take much of anyone in this topic's opinion on angles/storylines seriously. On a more wrestling related note just rewatched the TAKA Triple H match. So good. Need a top 10 list of "match results that look impossible on paper but made you believe" or something stuff like this and Santino in the chamber and such. That's like, juvenile delinquent ****, though. It's like, almost insulting to the concept of evil to call it that, to me.
I think stuff like trying to take over the organization or intentionally crippling your opponents makes for better "evil" even if strictly speaking it's less sinful than desecrating the dead or slaughtering animals. Like I'm not saying the Bossman stuff was bad because it was distasteful-- it was, mind you-- I'm saying it's bad because it was stupid. Well he was the best jackass in wrestling.
I'm not sure how much that really counts towards his heel quality since he didn't really have any sort of sinister plans or power or anything. He was just a dick. I guess he was good at being a dick but I mean, not really, since he didn't really win the feuds or even any matches. Also the only reason he was so good at being a jackass is because most storylines have the sense to not tread on things like grinding dogs into dog food or dragging a coffin out of a funeral with your car. -- No problem! That's only true if you assume that the zoning is equally important and equally difficult to do in each game. It's not, really. The ganks being easier means you don't need to play as aggressively early for ganks to work, and kill denying means that you can remain competitive in CS while in lane while playing more defensively.
Like to me it just feels like a focus shift rather than adding to the package. You can't really say that DotA is a less aggressive game because ganks are easier so there is more aggression somewhere, but I feel the laners that aren't ganking need to be more aggro in League. Which basically just amounts to laning is more fun in DotA as mid cause you can go have fun ganking with impunity, but less everywhere else. Also they're far from the same game beyond laning-- mostly in that there's less focus on carries, but that's a different thing entirely. -- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

I like the spinoff games more generally. My favorite is Super Star, second might be Amazing Mirror, but beyond that? Probably Star Stacker, Avalanche, Pinball Land, and Block Ball take 3-6.

I honestly feel like creep denies make laning less involved. I feel like League is more zoning heavy/aggressive in lane due to creep denies not existing, which is more satisfying and I could argue makes it more deep.
Instead of just kill stealing your own minions you actually have to work to force the guy out of the lane if you want to deny him income. That's not to say lane harass doesn't exist in DotA but I think it's a more important part of League's play. Ganks also take more effort to set up in league for various reasons which further drives home the need for proper zoning-- you could say that makes it "easier" but that's all a matter of perspective of ganker vs laner. -- No problem! almost Just barely got the 15 and had to count Super Star/Super Star Ultra as separate (and Dream Land which is included in those two). Pretty good considering I haven't played any of his Wii games though. Also for some reason I feel like most people who stick with DotA thinking that LoL is so much more simplistic or whatever is mostly because of the way the game looks. People see cartoony designs and a map where everything jumps out at you and automatically assume that it's the simpler game. Then they play a few low level games and are like "yup this game is so basic I was totally right" and well I guess they kinda were cause it was low level play.
Having played a good deal of both at a decent level (but more LoL at this point) I can't really say I think DotA is all that much more deep or anything. And I actually prefer the cartoonish look of LoL because it's easier to see what's going on on the screen... and of course on the other side of the spectrum you have HoN which just looks like a cluttered mess all the time. Never even going to try that one, honestly. DotA2 I will give a shot at some point when it's convenient for me, though.. -- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

After relooking at the classes for HYPE today, and more importantly taking their designs in, I think my new likelihood is
Monk >= Wizard > Barbarian > Demon Hunter > Witch Doctor Barbarian actually looks kinda cool now that I've absorbed better how his skills interact with the rage system (that ugly ass female barb does not exist-- though part of me can appreciate them making her look so manly as you'd expect a female barbarian to be rather than going for an aesthetically pleasing design). Demon Hunter dropping so much was mostly cause I didn't really like the design on either gender. I'm actually interested in all 5 though-- really well designed skill sets, even if I think "witch doctor" and "demon hunter" are kinda dumb generic core classes in concept. -- No problem! I used to play Street Fighter 2/Turbo sometimes with my mom
She almost always used Blanka. Mostly just mashed (she claimed this) but she definitely was not a total masher cause she knew how to do the head bite grab and would spam the hell out of it because it made her laugh. Tidus's only problem designwise is his resemblance to Meg Ryan.
Similarly my problem with Lulu is her hair (it's for the most part fine outside the "one eye covered" look but doesn't match the character/outfit well) and face. Nothing wrong with fashion disasters, though. I prefer to call them experiments or "unique." Tidus's whole outsider character definitely fits his absurd outfit too, which is part of the reason I like it. Lulu's outfit... well, it's more the clash than the beltz. The fur top doesn't really gel with it at all. Nothing wrong with the beltz in and of themselves though. -- No problem! This is a cute and pop genocide of love! |

AP Yi can go top pretty well (good sustain from a high powered meditate) though good luck getting top.
