I think Lopen is purposefully forgetting that Jericho also started airing Punk's dirty laundry to the entire world as well and involved his family in it too.

I explicitly said that the thing was good until they diverted from that approach to the rivalry.

Like getting pissed at airing your dirty laundry totally buy this.

"You're an alcoholic" repeatedly not so much. And you can say that Punk was all giggles but he wasn't really. Last night was the only time he got anything resembling not angry about that. And he still clubbed Jericho at the end so it's not like he was totally composed either.

Though that being said it's also different if it's someone you know, even in a non friendly context, and not someone on the street.

I'd feel pretty confident if I called some guy at my office I don't get along with an alcoholic repeatedly and he wasn't one he wouldn't get furious about it and attack me he'd just get irritated and blow me off. And the thing is I could literally be doing anything to badger him for the same effect so it really makes the basis of the insult kinda lose a lot of its impapct.

Like Jericho might as well just be doing the most annoying noise in the world at Punk repeatedly.

I just can't really feel Punk legitimately getting angry about this. When Jericho was insulting his family? Yeah, definitely. But like the whole "you're an alcoholic just admit it" thing he should be laughing it off. Like I wasn't just pulling out some random bad angle when I compared it to Piggy James, they're really similar to me in some ways at this point.

I had no idea it was a joke because I have not been subjected to American humour, and despite your knowing that, continue to do it.

Yes and no. 1. This comes naturally to me so I don't really think about it when I do it. Maybe to you that's being disrespectful of your culture, but in my culture forgetting the culture thing is an issue is a good sign you're not racist, at least the way I see it. 2. I thought what I was saying would come off as so silly that you couldn't take it seriously. Sarcasm may be something that other languages have a problem with-- and yeah I knew that because my Japanese teacher used to talk to us about it all the time, but over the top silliness definitely isn't. Cause the first post's joke was definitely more silliness than sarcasm. And personally I think if you had less of a stick up your ass about the whole racism topic you would've picked up on that silliness, too. Not presuming to know anything about you or whatever, but that's just my experience with other non-native speakers, there.

Anyway. "Turning off" my sarcastic/jokey nature isn't something I do often so you should feel anything but offended, here. The fact that I took a step back and clarified means that I do actually sympathize with the sarcasm thing at least-- I don't do this often at all, so, yeah, appreciate it. Just for you I'll try to lace any posts jabbing at you with no real malice with emoticons from now on to help you be able to pick up on these things.

But if you continue to insist I was being legit racist/inconsiderate of your culture or whatever I'll continue to use shamelessly use sarcasm and let you get as insulted as you want. I think it's fine to be a huge fan of Punk, guy deserves it. My issue is when you're so into the guy that you're completely unable to see anything he's involved with as anything less than amazing. (unless Triple H is burying him)

Like I certainly have my favorites and will appreciate most anything they do (actually Jericho's one of those people) but I can acknowledge when a storyline is written so poorly that not even Jericho, MVP, Daffney, or whoever can save it.

I haven't put any effort into this at all. the only reason I started saving again this year is because the rounds happen to go up right around the time I get out of class and it gives me something to do. then people started treating me like trash before I did anything even remotely wrong.

So you just spend dozens of posts arguing about inane drivel every other day on autopilot? Did you write a script to do it? How about the bad skits/fanfiction-- did your pet baboon with alzheimers type those out? Actually don't answer that it'd explain the quali-- ahem... my point is that you could have 0 saves total and put more effort in than probably 90-95% (basically, more than all but the people who regularly keep updates, I'd imagine) of the people who follow this. I'm just making sure you realize what you've become. Ignoring the part where he flipped out about the presumably harmless fanfiction overall I'm pretty sure you've been more spaz than vcharon in the last few weeks.

I'm just saying uh, be careful. Fine line between mockery and becoming one of those sperglords or whatever you call em.

Just saying, this stuff is becoming so common that people need to step back and realize it's a Save My contest. It's cool to stop people from ruining with cheating, but we're getting out of control here. FFD can just ban the particularly troublesome people and move on. It'll cause temporary drama, but then we'll move on. Although I know so many people here love this stuff. This contest was cooler when it was charon talking about FFV characters being bad, and the drama spawning from that. Now it's people just trying to ruin it and succeeding.

Yeah I agree with this. Saying this as someone who loved the drama aspect of past years, the drama this year has really come off as forced. Then again I felt the same way about UotY so maybe I'm just outgrowing all of this stuff I don't know. I'm just saying it's so loosely based around actual saving this year that it feels kinda cheap.

Yeah I think I agree. Punk playing defensive about the straight edge thing seems kinda whiny for whatever reason, to me. Guy can't roll well with Jericho ripping into him I don't think-- especially when Jericho's not really ripping into him very well at all. Punk's a lot better when he's ripping into people as the aggressor which he hasn't for this feud much at all. He's just reactively "getting mad" and that's about it.

Eh beating the game naked isn't really all that easy, no. Particularly if you're not a necromancer (which I wasn't I did this with an assassin-- which, to be fair, is probably the second easiest just because corpse explosion gives you viable damage against pretty much everything).

You still need fast reflexes and good use of all your CC/minion skills to not just get smoked in hell if you run into the wrong pack, though. Negative resists suck ass.

And keep in mind I did this in HC.

And I can't believe the CM Drunk segment was actually liked by some of you. It was terrible. Punk wasn't convincing, not that him being convincing would help because the only thing worse than that segment being a joke would be it being real. Also it wasn't funny.

Speaking of botches they reshowed the Brock promo and I'm pretty sure he did not in fact contradict himself-- which is what I thought last week. Course maybe they just edited it, I guess, but it sounded exactly how I remembered it so.. <_<

And yeah I agree that corpse rallying becomes a bit of a grind at some point, but that's why I play hardcore. Helps with that. You totally can die from a unique archer pack if they have nasty mods while herding their corpses, especially if your items aren't particularly good or you''re low level.

See Silvercross if that's the case that they're really doing that? Yeah, I'm on board. If elements are just for style or the crowd control stuff they bring, and the immunity system has been really toned down as an important aspect? Yeah, should be a better game and tougher.

Nothing has really suggested to me that they are actually doing that, though. Everything I've heard about the difficulty seems like d2 stuff and generic blanket "IT'S TOUGH" hype.

Not in the countess case in particular, but the general idea behind that concept of difficulty is enjoyable, yes.

For instance my lightning trap assassin has some difficulty with The Pit due to the lightning immune archers, but it's fun using crowd control skills, my shadow master, and my merc to topple one of them and then to domino them all down with death sentry. If I could just respec it'd be easy to just max out wake of fire and crush that dungeon easily, due to the fire immunes there being much less threatening fallen. It'd be easier, but less fun. At the same time yes I could do it that way and ignore the infinite respec system, but I generally don't like to feel like I'm intentionally limiting myself when I play games. It cheapens the experience for me. That's not to say I never do challenge runs but that's generally after I've beaten the game a few times.

Having to compromise from the optimal course of action is part of the fun of any difficulty d2 has. Bringing in a WW barbarian is viable too (though I don't see a ww barbarian coming along and running countess with you if you do it a lot unless you're splitting loot which makes the runs less efficient anyway) but that's fun cause you're playing with a team. It's good that teams work better than individuals in hell.

There were plenty of viable builds in D2. There will surely be more in this game, which is very good, but being able to cherry pick which build works best for each area was rubbing me the wrong way because if you had that ability in d2 hell would be very easy, as I was saying. Like uh, in diablo 2 unless I'm playing a summon necromancer there are plenty of areas any given build I'll make will have trouble with unless it's hella twinked out because of the immunity system.

Like say I'm a meteorb sorceress I'm going to have a lot of trouble doing say, the countess, cause she's fire/cold immune. But with infinite respecs I could just get to the countess, respec into pure lightning, and kill her in 2 seconds. Just a small example but they exist all over the game. Skill builds having weaknesses was a big part of the reason d2 was actually kinda difficult. Without that you don't have much difficulty left.

Now that I heard about that buff though, I can at least take solace in the fact that if I make a build that can go through most areas I'll have an edge over the scrubs who tailor pick skills for every area. Like I like the idea behind infinite respecs for fun but when they remove the need to have a versatile build/commit to a build at all (over customization makes your characters feel less unique imhhho, not more) then I have a problem.

Also I don't know what jars are. Haven't heard of them. I haven't been super into the hype for this game yet I've just looked at the skill system and characters for the most part.

You can beat Veigar with most anyone you just need to be aggressive early. He's got less burst than most mids before level 6 due to event horizon doing 0 damage, his Q not having much frills being a farming skill, and his w being avoidable so you need to bully him before that point. He can poke you with q when you do this but you should be able to hurt him worse.

If he's horizon->dark mattering you at 900 range you shouldn't even have been at that range to begin with.

Once he hits 6 he's kind of a terror though.
