I know this is 4 hours ago but I don't think that having the face of the company being unstoppable is a bad thing.

But I don't think being unstoppable is the same thing as no selling offense. Really the only guys on that list of "unstoppable forces" that no sold offense regularly were Hogan and Warrior (and Bikertaker but that's not the same as the taker that was the face of the company). Like the big fish of the company should be the best but that doesn't mean he has to make everyone else look on a much lower level than him. For instance Triple H for as much as you'll say about burying guys it was more in the booking of him beating a guy 10 times than the matches themselves. Like on PPV matches or main events his matches for the most part looked competitive. Triple H would come out on top but that's why he's the best. For the most part the same is true for John Cena, Austin, or any of the other guys on that list that weren't Hogan and Warrior.

So yeah people having a problem with Sheamus kicking out at 1 isn't the same as people having a problem with Sheamus winning a lot.

Best SF game is Alpha 3. All that single player content and the ism system.

Best Star Fox 64 level is probably Venom from the top path. That final dogfight with Star Wolf team is too good. Area 6 is probably number 2 though.

I like booking that gives you the feeling that either side can win. Which superman booking kinda works against, so I'm not exactly huge on it or anything. I was just saying it's not a terrible thing.

That's not necessarily 50/50, though. That's just pairing guys against each other who have similar amounts of momentum and not repeating the same damn match too much. Like something like Funkasaurus vs the LORD is an excellent match for me though those two guys have been anything but 50/50 booked. And once the match goes down I certainly don't care if the LORD wins two or three times in a row over Funkasaurus to wrap up the feud. I might mind the opposite result but... well... that's an entirely different point

I also think even with superman booking the right momentum build can make most guys seem like viable threats. Superman always loses eventually so you just gotta make it feel like it's always that eventually, even if it's not.

I swear I just carried a game with a score of 4/12/19.

I was AP Yi and seemed like every teamfight we won was when I'd trick the enemy team into focusing me when I had meditate off cooldown and their stuns were spent.

Also the MF carry tried so hard to throw it. We had the enemy base down to like 200 and the MF is full hp way back from it and I'm like "what if you autoed it once we'd have won". Because yeah our team was kinda outgunned in general our winning was entirely dependent on how much FF I could soak.

Now I won't deny that the "exception" guys on that list were probably the best company faces there were for entertainment value in their title reigns.

I'm just saying that most of the guys on that list weren't too bad about making their competition seem crappy and that seems to be the fundamental issue here.

Yeah Squall isn't emo. Squall's got a few problems but being an emo isn't one of them.

Zidane on the other hand his disc 3 stuff is more emo than any FF character can touch. The funny part about it is it almost makes you wonder if that's the character, deep down, and he's just wearing a mask of optimism most of the time. Especially how quickly after the YNA scene he "recovers"

Man I can just imagine Zidane cutting himself (any coincidence he uses two knives) and writing poetry, then Garnet knocks on the door and Zidane is like "oh I'd better be cheery-- hey Garnet I just cut accidentally hurt myself sharpening my twin daggers can I get a cure spell?" And Garnet is like "ohh that goofy Zidane" and cures him, knowing nothing of the brooding within.

Oh okay.

Well I'm glad they're finally revealing it at least even if it's makes you go ...WHAT?

AJ Styles hired the ninja that kidnapped Samoa Joe?
AJ Styles killed Abyss?
AJ Styles is The Suicide?

The amount of stupid SWERVE style twists you can do with this storyline boggles my mind. Ridiculous or compelling are both fine with me-- if it's something mundane then we have a problem. ... god I hope it's not something stupid like AJ cheating on his wife.

Yeah, that might be. My memory of the specifics of FFIX's plot isn't great and I probably just lumped all his emo crap into the YNA scene.

How about "Zidane is the only character in FF series that comes off as emo to me (even if he's a closet emo 90% of the time)"

You're not alone is a bad scene aside from the music. I always think it's funny that people call Squall and Cloud "emo" while turning around and praising Zidane because that scene is the only time in the FF series where a character has come off as "emo" to me.

I'm not sure if that's a big part of why I'm not big on Zidane but it certainly doesn't help his case.

Vivi is the only really good character in FF9. Kuja is good and then you've got a handful that are okay.

She's still boring but her in ring work is actually decent now. Her improvement in the ring is like Trish Stratus tier unless I just never noticed and she was always okay. Well you need to beat New Game+ to even access it but... it's awesome. It's just a bonus game that starts you in the Ancient Cave town (unable to go anywhere else) that lets you bring whoever you want into the cave. Hell yeah Maxim/Dekar/Lexis/Guy party. I mean it's only awesome if you actually played the death out of the Ancient Cave I guess. Did you even play the cave at all? I guess I just have a weakness for randomly generated dungeons with loot-- hey Diablo 2.

Strange thing about that game. First time I played through it I felt real bad for Tia, and was bitter towards Selan then like... when I replayed it recently I thought Tia was kind of terrible and Selan was actually kinda cool-- though I can't really hate her because of that first memory I guess. I guess my tastes in characters have changed quite a bit since I was like 12.

Might've been me that told you to play Lufia 2. Well I know I encouraged it at least when it was doing well in NCAA or ABGC or something (I think this was the context, anyway). Great game.

Bonus Question: What is a game that you didn’t have high expectations for that you ended up really liking?

Lots. Guitar Hero is one. Didn't really think the rhythm genre would appeal to me but it's excellent. Fate/Stay Night as well-- replace "rhythm" with "visual novel" also the whole fear that the porn thing would make it impossible to take seriously (luckily there isn't much of it). Was also pretty skeptical of Phoenix Wright coming in.

Choose not to answer the Godot question just because I can't really remember any great moments he had-- silly (but good) quotes do not really a moment make.

So Impact was pretty decent tonight. Low on BS (no EY/ODB and Garrett was only in a clip IIRC) and pretty solid matches throughout. First time in a long time that all of their big draws that I can think of (Anderson, Hardy, RVD, Angle, Roode, AJ Styles, Bully Ray, Austin Aries) got TV time, with all of them but the last two getting matches. All the feuds were built a bit too. It was probably their best show since their England stuff.

Of course 40 hours is "reasonable." I just agreed with the topic based on the idea that 40 hours is undesirable, that's all. Of course someone can do it but should they want to if they have the choice? For someone who developed all these social skills working as a door to door salesman I'd say your ability to read into subtext is a bit lacking.

To expound on that a bit, "the story is nonexistent" is entirely the wrong complaint to make about the story of FFXIII. And if you make it really shows that you're just reaching into the jar of generic criticisms.

You kinda "lose all credibility" if you go that route. Not that you had much, not having played it, but the problems with FFXIII's story aren't that it doesn't seem important or relevant to the game-- that's FFXII's problem. FFXIII has a very well defined story-- it's just boring.

Eh I don't think getting jobbers over is that hard. Stick them in angles or matches with big guys and they won't tank the segment too bad yet will get some overness themselves. Repeat until they hit 20-30 over and then you can start actually making them beat guys without totally tanking the guys they're beating. Once they hit 40 over or so if their entertainment stats are good you can put them in angles and have them actually gain momentum and it's just downhill from there. Sticking them in storylines helps a lot so their momentum doesn't totally die too.

Eh I personally don't consider it lazy if your reasons are rooted in prioritizing. For a lot of people, working 40, much less 60 or 80 is not about capability or being exhausted or whatever. It's more about "does this extra money make up for losing that much of my social life and free time." I've worked 60 hour work weeks-- I'm capable of doing it. But I'd never do it unless I had to, because I'm financially well off and take jobs that pay well enough that part time is good enough to not only pay living expenses but make a lot of bank too, and just don't think that more extra money is worth that much at this point. And honestly? People who are working more than 40 hours a week and it's not simply to make ends meet? Unless they've got crazy good paying jobs, I'd probably say it's more worth your time to look into spending that extra time investing or developing more marketable skills or something even if you don't feel you need the free time.

If you say can have a healthy social life with enough personal time while working 80 hours a week-- I personally don't believe you. I think you're delusional and your definition of a "healthy" social life has been skewed by working 80 hours a week. 60 is doable with good time management, sure, but it's still sub optimal unless you have no friends and no hobbies.
