access to the alchemy one doesn't require the loss of your limbs. you just get it for free. but everything else is equivalent exchange.

You don't have a whole lot of ki with the dragonball one, but it's at least enough to fly and do small energy blasts.

You can create two additional clones with kage bunshin, and they last until dispelled or harmed. As with Naruto's clones, when they are dispelled, you gain their experiences. You do not have access to sexy jutsu or harem jutsu.

the death note works the same as in the series. ryuk follows you around.

Steal has a 100% activation chance, but failure means that the stolen item is the target's underwear.

The transformation pen transforms you into a pretty soldier. Despite looking the same, no one can recognize you for some reason. You gain the power of the celestial body of your choice.

I could probably do a whole lot of good with the Death Note.....but I'd also probably fuck up a lotta stuff by accident.

Whereas the real world doesn't have laws against transmuting gravel into gold.

Also why are your explanations not in the same order as the poll?

Clones would be massively helpful. You could send one out to work while you chill at home, have another do chores etc. Especially since these never disappear until you dispell them so them getting tired won't matter if they're around forever. Or, if you wanna abuse their experience transferring to you, just have one focus on hitting the gym and then dispell it and get all the gains. Have one study a new language, a new career etc. The possibilities are honestly crazy.

Shadow clones with no chakra requirement is OP

You can go to work as normal, and have the clones learn and prepare certain things

You can tag team any single task and learn how to do it 3x as fast

You can send the clones to work for you, hopefully it's not dangerous

Clones as the single best outcome. Every skill in life is just brute force practice, the clones allow you to cheat-code the entire system for any skill you desire, and because they're me they'd share the exact same interest in achieving the goals I want to achieve.

The Death Note is tempting for rather obvious reasons but lets be real here it 110% is corrupting whoever picks it up with no exceptions. It'll start with positive changes and then quickly slide into "but if I just killed this person while having them do Y thing the entire planet would be better off! Small sacrifice to pay!" territory, and then get increasingly petty as the person using it gets increasingly desensitized to the killing (which is definitely going to happen to everybody who picks the Death Note because humans are hardwired to get better at handling the mental toll of killing if they do it often enough.)

If there was an option for a mind control power that didn't kill the target I'd pick that but alas no Geass on the poll, so I'll stick with the self-improvement status buff.

The funny thing is that the anime never argues this. People like to think Death Note is a series about absolute power corrupting absolutely....but it's really just about one specific asshole. Apparently Ryuk says most people who tried it immediately got rid of it and the few that didn't just used it for personal gain a few times.

No one else who uses one goes to the same batshit extent that Light does. The show is very specifically about Light being an historically monumental monster.

No one else who uses one goes to the same batshit extent that Light does. The show is very specifically about Light being an historically monumental monster.

I was more just commenting on human nature tho. Even a good person who decides to use it will start with only the most evil people where a single targeted elimination would evoke the most immediate change, but would very quickly fall into the trap of wielding the power again and again as lesser evil people rise up and they gain knowledge of them.

Then there's the whole "you won't go to the afterlife if you use it even once" thing which is liable to lead someone to develop a God complex because they decided to sacrifice themselves for the species, every kill becoming just a sacrifice to them until they end up the sort of person who'd go on long-winded rants about how much they're giving up for the world.

That's not even getting in to how it'd likely backfire long term. Say a person picks it up and decides to start eliminating certain brackets of people at the top of society. How long is it before that group realizes something supernatural is picking them off and they simply go into hiding, running the world from the unseen shadows and completely nullifying the Death Note? And with the rise of AI the odds of at least one brutal dictator/oligarch plugging the question into an AI and the AI pointing them to Death Note (and thus a detailed rundown of your abilities) gets higher and higher as well.

The world's on a bad path but I just don't see the Death Note working out. It'll kill the "person" who chooses to wield it as surely as if they'd written their own name in it via corrupting them utterly, and long term the world will adapt in ways that leave it worse off.

Murder is a specific type of crime. You can't, for example, have committed murdered if it is ruled that you justifiably killed someone in the name of defense. Do you mean to ask if they believe it's okay to kill someone?

I ask if you believe there is never a reason to kill someone.
