I was expecting a bit of a better performance, kinda sad to see really. Didn't Hope get like a Top 10 run once?

Hope has one top ten, yeah, all the way back in CXV. He's only finished in the upper half twice in his last seven appearances though, and the highest of those was 39th.

hope does seem like a character where his diehards will be willing to go to bat for him

With how much I've been bashing Zidane I'm in no position to complain about it lol I know Snow isn't very popular and that's fine. I've been fortunate enough to see my #1 get a win and my #3 get runner-up... twice. Actually maybe that second one is more unfortunate!

Anyway I had too many balls in the air decided to just save Snow and Prompto once each without trading and let the chips fall where they may. The universe has decided it's Prompto's time to shine, which is kinda nice because Snow at least has made top half before

I am here once again asking to normalize hating on bad Final Fantasy characters and not worrying about the feelings of those weirdos who happen to like them

But I don't like any bad Final Fantasy characters, and there are still weirdos out there who celebrate when they happen to go down

I mostly dislike Gen characters on principle. I don't think they're that bad.

Like my favorite characters are literally these trash fodder villains that I gotta drag until they fluke into some momentum once in a while. Characters I actually like a lot that have any strength are like... Tidus Rikku Seymour Sephiroth Yuffie but I prefer Algus Genesis and X-Death to most of them, directly, no project.

But I mean Isaaru, Dona, Shuyin, they're not that bad they're just kinda like but why though. They ain't even Gen's favorite characters they're "projects" down here in the streets we ain't got the luxury of "projects"

The real bads are the Terras and Zidanes and Steiners of the world. Those are the ones we mock with no mercy.

Isaaru is a legit niche favorite of mine though. I hate what they did to him (along with half the original cast) in the sequel, but I love him in X and I'm sick of pretending like l don't! No he's not a tippy top upper echelon favorite like Yuna, Auron, or Rikku, but they were all already in at the time and I had to get something in exchange for Chris selling his soul for MOAR VOTEZ!!

Dona was less a project and more an experiment to see how well a character some people hate and others love to hate would do. Spoilers: not well. I wonder if Anabella would have more appeal in that department, but I'm too scared to find out, and I'd be devastated if she actually put up a fight because I'm in the pure "I hate that bitch" camp.

Lastly Shuyin is charon's project, not mine. I know I'm pretty much synonymous with the hubster these days, but we are in fact two different individuals with differing goals. Of the... gosh what is it, five new stats contests (?) Shuyin has appeared in now, I can count the number of times I've even given him secondary support with a single finger. Almost any time you see me save Shuyin, that's through a trade with char for Tidus, Balthier, or recently Kimahri. I only free save him if the stuff I really care about is off the board.

I mean Shuyin is okay, but personally, if it were up to me alone I wouldn't have really cared about the injustice if him being at the very bottom of the overall STATS. Then again I don't really care about STATS much in general. Like sure it would be great to see Tidus back in the top ten, but I'm not going to break my neck for +/- half a decade just to make it happen. Especially when someone can just quasi-main a turtle or a hot chick for four straight contests and take that spot right back from under my nose, completely invalidating my efforts.

Nah, I'd rather just see characters I like and/or characters I feel are underrated do well consistently or do really well once. The Braska run in whatever contest featured X-0 was something I considered one of my finest achievements, and was much more fun then backing guaranteed g's like Rikku or Sephiroth over and over again, only to be crushed when they wind up like 4th or whatever. Like if they get that far organically and I have nothing else to support at the time I'll join in sure. But to main them from the jump, sacrifice everything, including my idea of fun and not to mention my own sanity, only to stumble right before the finish line is as exhausting mentally, spiritually, and emotionally as it is physically.

You can get Tidus back into the top ten this year!
