Ironically I think Dark Phoenix being as bad as it was made The Last Stand look better. It's dumb but it's still very fun

Can't remember a single thing about this movie despite seeing it in theaters twice

However, being completely forgettable is slightly better than being awful!

The Last Stand could have been good if they had delayed it by a year like the filmmakers wanted. Instead we got a rushed mess with a lot of positive aspects as well. Far too short for its plot also.

However, being completely forgettable is slightly better than being awful!

It is a movie with a really good first two thirds!

Anyway, I havent seen Dark Phoenix or The New Mutants. Those seemed pointless throwaways because of the Fox acquisition, before which they had a mostly good record I think.

Out of the ones I've seen,

Good: X-Men, X2, Logan, DofP, First Class
Meh: X3, The Wolverine
Garbage Fire: Apocalypse, Dark Phoenix
Garbage Fire so bad it loops back to great: Wolverine Origins (Especially if you watch the leaked version missing special effects.)

Perhaps the most tragic thing about my father's death is the last movie he saw in theaters was X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Happened to land on Thor: Ragnarok on TNT just now.

Is it a coincidence that the best Thor movie has no Jane in it?

The Jane-focused parts of L&T were among the best parts of that movie so probably!

I enjoyed Season 1, but then I watched the Season 2 premiere and felt it was being too much and I was put off from continuing.

Preacher Season 2 was weird because it feels like they removed all the budget from it and filmed the majority of it in one of two apartments rooms.

That's kind of how I felt with Hannibal season 3. Loved the first 2 seasons and not sure I made it past 2 episodes of 3.

Also in the 'started and liked Preacher/Legion but never got around to their later seasons' boat.

i felt the same about Hannibal 3, but I did eventually come back to it and enjoy it, at least the latter eps

The Kid is not that bad - if anything, preferred it to when Netflix remade the movie as The Adam Project. The X-Men movies are uneven but definitely worth a watch.

The nostalgia is strong for the first two X-men movies. They're pretty bad by today's standards.

X1 gets points for filming Liberty Island in my hometown, a point I am always over-eager to mention

X2 is good and still stands up. Not sure about the first

I thought Apocalypse was better than it was given credit for, but wasn't anything special. Future Past and First Class were both good. First Class still feels really fun and fresh.

yeah I assumed the consensus top 3 was Logan, Days of Future Past, X2 though I'd probably put First Class above X2, yeah.

i literally don't remember anything that happened in Dark Phoenix and I know I watched it so, I don't know if that's due to movie quality or my own issues. I honestly feel like I could watch it and it'd be a brand new moviegoing experience for me, very strange...

The only good Fox-Men movies IMO are X2, DofP, and Logan. Deadpools too if you count those.

I hate First Class which I'm aware is a minority opinion but it's the perfect example of those movies being less X-Men team movies and more focused on singular people (Sniktbub in the original trilogy, Xavier and Mags in the FC trilogy) rather than the team as a whole.

And they did Darwin super dirty.

Id only call one of the Foxmen movies outright terrible, which was New Mutants and you can blame covid for that one being a mess. The rest are acceptable paint-by-numbers superhero stuff.

I could have swore Covid/Disney acquisition only affected it's release date though. As in it was already completely shot and edited before all that went down.

I think it's also because Kathryn Hahn can probably carry a TV show.

Basically lol. Plus yeah, she's Kathryn Hahn so of course she needs her own show.

At the time it was assumed that they were going to continue releasing like 5-6 shows a year, so an Agatha or Echo spin-off here and there didn't really seem like a big deal. But now that they're drip feeding us, it seems like a much dumber idea. I still think Agatha will be fun, though, so whatever.

I feel like they don't know what to do with the Agatha show, and for good reason. It probably doesn't need to exist.

It's also got Aubrey Plaza, so like, it'll be a good time.
