The demo was neat

Maybe in the future but not yet. I dont want to pay full price for a game these days. I usually wait for them to show up on sale. Maybe Ill try the demo. Oh wait, its only on PS5? Lol I wont be playing it then

Havent truly loved an FF since 9. Although I did play FF13 for the first time about a year ago and really enjoyed it, particularly the battle system.

Just haven't cared for the series in forever, so no. Not my jam.

Yes but not on day 1, simply won't have time to play. Will a few days later though.

I don't have a PS5 so can't. Sadly can't justify buying a PS5 after moving murdered my savings this year.

Maybe when it releases on PC, and is on sale for a price I would consider worth getting it at.

15 was complete ass so I'll wait to see what folks are saying about it

No, because I haven't been getting the latest consoles for a few years. I don't get a new console or system unless there are at least 3 games on it that I want to play.

Actually, the long answer is that FFXII pretty much killed my interest in the series forever. I loathed FFVIII, but FFXII bored me to the point where any last shreds of loyalty or nostalgia I had for the series died. XIII offered nothing that interested me and a lot that didn't, while XV didn't appeal because I don't really feel like playing a game about BTS going on a roadtrip.

Once upon a time Final Fantasy was my favorite series. But now I'm probably never going to buy another game in the franchise again.

Maybe if/when I get a PS5

Would wait if I was buying it for myself, but my bf wants it and it's his birthday soon. So I'll be experiencing it on release regardless, will likely play it myself if it looks fun.

That is the modern model for big budget games.

7R only get's away with not doing it, because the trilogy is kinda viewed as a single game, so there is no complaint about the later parts being in development instead of DLC for the first.

FF7R did have DLC though

I liked XV a lot so probably.

I don't have a PS5 and don't particularly want one, my PC likely won't be able to handle it when it stops being a timed exclusive, and Final Fantasy just isn't a series I'm overly interested in (not that an interest in FF as a series means much for being interested in XVI, given the radically different gameplay). That's gonna be a nope.

It means they're happy with the state of the game as it's launching and expect it to sell well enough to not need to double down on monetizing it. It also most likely means that they're actually listening to the developers, since shoehorning DLC into everything is very much a publisher-level thing and not something developers that value their games generally plan for.

Of course, the more likely outcome is that Squenix will shoehorn microtransactions and DLC in after it's already been out for a week or two so reviews don't mention them and they don't affect pre-order rates, since that's just how Squenix do these days.

I liked XV too even though they really dropped the ball on the plot outside of the roadtrip with your bros aspect. It took too many updates, dlc, outside lore to get a basic understanding of what the hell was going on and reading some of the changes from versus XIII to find out why some characters were so weird and felt out of place. Its a shame because it feels like somethings there that could have been great but it really needs an ultimate directors cut with like a different director or something.

It seems like the XVI project is less of a mess than that so hopefully the focus is better and XV was just growing pains with the new style they are going with. I was never one to get day 1 releases anyway and thats definitely not happening in this era and state of the industry.

Yeah XIV looks awesome but I know i wouldn't have enough time to put into what would be needed to enjoy that game

I still haven't finished 15...

The opening sequence bored me to tears. I've heard it gets better after the prologue and I intend to return to it eventually, but that introduction in 15 is a slog.

Don't plan on buying 16 until I finish 15. So, not for quite a while.

Haven't finished 12 yet. Just can't get through it. The series isn't for me anymore.
