This is going to be a light season for me because Necromancy is dropping in Runescape next month (and I never technically finished a few shows from last season).

KanoKari S3: Watched the first episode. It's as good as ever but the OP is no Centimeter / Secret Romance.
GnY: Already been out for a few weeks. It might get people into Love Live, the premise (the coming of age of Yoshiko's fictional chuni-persona) is is decent.
Horimiya - Piece: This is supposed to be side stories for Horimiya as afaik, they told the entire story in a single season (and it wrapped up fine). Always felt like they were skipping stuff, and apparently I was right.
Atelier Ryza: I have not played Ryza's games (I've only played Dusk) but I have to watch it for her thighs.

No, after Invention they said that Elite skills are too alienating to new and returning players (the main demographic they've been trying to reach for the past year or so). Necromancy will have 0 requirements but have some "suggested" requirements (mainly some quests / skills if you want to self craft stuff):

thank god, i've technically been playing since classic but i just do whatever when I play so i'm missing a ton of stuff. didn't get access to prif until a year or two ago lol

Lots of new anime started up and I got my first (and likely only) real pleasant surprise this season in zom 100. It was a lot better than I expected and an all around fantastic first episode. Of course, I'll have to see how the normal episodes play out now that the intro is done and it could very well be less good like say, to your eternity.

Also watched classroom for heroes which is pretty weak generic technically not isekai fantasy. The characters came off as very inconsistently written in the first episode but at least it's ecchi.

Saw tenpuru which is one of the other ecchi anime. Aside from the main guy sounding like he's 30 years older than he actually is (it's really bizarre), it had an old school ecchi feel. It was kinda funny in parts so I'll keep watching.

Liar Liar is yet another ecchi anime and only mediocre. It's premise is full holes and feels like a knock off classroom of the elite. I'll keep watching for now but I'm gonna have to really turn my brain off to not get annoyed.

Then we get unique skill at level 1 which is slightly better than I expected. Was interesting to see that their status functions very similar to rance where people have different max levels and our poor protag has a max of 1 except he's not a poor protag because his drop rate is so high that enemies constantly drop stat up items every time. Fairly basic setup so that they can have the classic "heh, your just a level 1 weakling" into him being way too strong. It was kind of fun to watch him game the system though even if it's simple. Oh yeah, pathetic protag broke down and cried when a cute girl cooked him some soup and hugged him. A new low? Probably not, but still stood out to me.

And of course, the GOAT is back with mushoku tensei season 2 actually starting this time. Big surprise, it's still a masterpiece. I'm continually impressed by the writers ability to write fundamentally different characters and yet they feel real and accurate. The way Sara is similar to Eris is able to actually stand out because every other character is so well realized.

Can't remember if I mentioned but I watched the jujutsu kaisen movie since this current arc ties into it.

Oh wtf Link Click is currently getting a second season now too. I hadn't seen it mentioned anywhere since Korean/Chinese stuff's often ignored, but Link Click was a gem I accidentally stumbled upon. It's about a guy that can relive/travel to the past through photographs in order to learn information while simultaneously trying not to actually change the past with his actions

Yo wtf did I just watch? This might be the worst directed episode of all time. Unique skill makes me OP at level 1 (which honestly sounds borderline auto generated) had an ok first episode. Just standard isekai trash really. Episode 2 starts by recapping the fight with the giant ape...which didn't happen yet, and then goes to show us a flashback of main guy and girl picking up carrots in the dungeon...which also didn't happen yet. For the first few minutes I really thought they just aired episode 3 by mistake but no, we actually get to see both of those events happen later in the episode. Maybe the recap was supposed to be for episode 3 instead? Truly bizarre.

Just wrapped up working at another convention. It may be because I just went to one two weeks ago, but I wasn't really feeling it this time around. It didn't help that there weren't many panels I wanted to check out in the first place, and almost all of the ones I did were during my shifts.

I spent a little more than I planned to, but I saw a few things I just had to have. I got this shirt:

I've been watching a lot but I just added undead murder farce to the list. One of the worst names IMO but the show is actually quite good. It's a mystery show with good attention to detail and logic so far. A pleasant rarity. Theres also a solid wit to the dialogue. I'm genuinely unsure of who the killer is, but I do have a guess.

The most basic answer would be the blonde son. That is where the show is trying to point us and he did have his hands in his pockets as much as he could. I believe the more interesting solution would be the daughter with help from the maid. Logic would dictate one of the vampires would have had to have broken the lock as no way a human could do that, however, a vampire can't carry the stake. If the daughter broke the lock, had the maid carry the stake and holy water, then it works out.

Additionally the blonde son seems too incompetent. He was spotted by our half oni when he thought he was well hidden. Furthermore, the daughter made sure to sing loudly, covering up any sound and delaying people from checking on the mother. Additionally, the daughter twice interrupted aya's line of questioning, once by appearing in the room and once by leaving the dinner table. While the daughter appears to be a child, it is a vampire, it could very well be 100 years old and the show wants us to think she's too young and innocent for that.

I believe the brothers having only half an alibi is a red herring. It's where the viewers attention is supposed to be drawn. The answer to a good mystery however, is precisely where the author doesn't want you to look. It's very similar to slight of hand magic in that way. Well I guess slight of hand is just a type of mystery anyway.

The only other thing of note to me is that the butler was with him before he was a human ally and he tried to leave when shizuka was watching them. It's plausible that the butler would want things to go back to how they were before allying with the humans, but thats somewhat flimsy and really most of the people there do. Additionally, him having the key is a good way to throw someone off the trail if he was somehow able to break the lock. People would think he would have no need to break it with the key but thats really not the case unless he wants to incriminate himself.

So in conclusion, the weakest plausible answer is the boy, the medium quality answer is the butler, the high quality answer is the daughter and maid.

This show seems to follow a lot of the rules of mystery. I can suspect that next episode will have us going over suspects one at a time while making each one look guilty, however it's the one not shown till the end thats actually guilty. The thing is, in mystery, everyone should be hiding something. We can assume the brothers and butler were hiding something, just that it wasn't the murder.

What will upset me is if it's a plan from the "M" guy to send a hunter with the silver stake to enable the murder, trusting for basically no reason that godard would put the stake in his house instead of just disposing of it despite not having any plausible way to know anything about them. I foresee this possibility but IMO it would be bad writing.

I'm really liking great cleric. It might be the slowest I've ever seen an isekai protag progress. Well, outside of konosuba I guess. The show isn't anything special really, but it's the exact niche I want more of. I just hope we don't get a time skip and suddenly he's OP.

Also saw the latest of heretical last boss queen and it was good. I think this is the only time I've really seen a "villainess" leverage the fact that the villain of a game is generally very competent and powerful. Also the only time the villainess has been properly evil in the first life instead of just petty and rude. Original Pride did some savage shit. Although bro, just teleport stale to the captain and then teleport him back. That part was extremely frustrating to not have them do.

buncha manga/LNs explore the concept of taking advantage of the base character having naturally high specs, like villainess level 99 (without training she'd have been stronger than the last boss, so the gamer MC decides to spend her entire childhood grinding levels), i'm not the hero (MC is basically a fire emblem jeigan at the start of a game that heavily resembles romancing saga), and my recent favorite, fake saint (loser MC reincarnates as evil fake saint and decides to just his immense villain-sourced powers to continue the charade until he can pass the torch to the real one safely)

it is basically a first for anime adaptation tho which is cool. it's basically the opposite of bakarina despite the obvious early parallels

Landed on another dud with Isekai Shoukan wa Nidome desu. I tend to ignore review scores for isekai shows, since even average shows get bad scores, but this one is just not doing anything for me.

I get trying not to take review scores too seriously but I don't think I've seen a single show rated under a 6 that wasn't hot garbage. I felt like that one in question had an ok premise but then awful execution and the part where I really checked out was when the one girl resolved not to kill anything.

Yeah, that was the last ep. I finished. The show gets worse every ep.

The vampire mystery in undead murder farce ended and I was not correct. I'm trying to decide how well I like the actual solution. There's at least parts of it I don't like.

1. The injury red herring felt very cheap. If vampires can regenerate that way by cutting off affected areas, why was that even brought up in the first place? I mean, clearly to force the viewer into not making the right prediction by effectively lying about the rules.
2. During the noise part, there was a 5th reason why they might not have heard the noise. Because there was a louder noise drowning it out. AKA the singing. This wasn't even considered for some reason.
3. The convenience of finding the stake and getting it to the study feels like a bit much. If that was the only coincidence, maybe, but it's not.
4. The motive was uninteresting. I mean, it's what I suspected of the motive, but it's still kind of lame. If he wanted to be a "solitary noble creature", why is he with his family anyway? Go live on your own. His justification for not wanting to be a human ally felt very flimsy.
5. The dusty bottle. This might be the worst part. Why the hell would someone who can create this conspiracy, think to take the stake holster and freeze holy water inside it to make a perfect stake and think to bring a bottle to make it look like holy water was scattered around NOT use a bottle that had been washed out recently. In fact, why wouldn't he specifically store holy water in there so there'd be trace amounts on the inside? That seems very dumb especially when the bottle is visibly dusty.

I honestly like the idea of using frozen holy water as a stake, that part is clever, but the clue it left behind was very dumb. I did say if the boy was the killer, it would be the weakest plausible answer so I'm kind of disappointed that I still feel that way after the reveal. The show was pointing at him to make him guilty from the outset and I'm not sure I can give the show enough credit for that to be a double fake, especially not when other plausible methods for the crime weren't explored and the motive was so mundane.

So after more thought, I guess I don't like how it turned out very much. I will still keep watching though. The dialogue is witty and the world and characters at least somewhat interesting but I really hope the next mystery has a more satisfying solution.

Yay, finished that show off, so as a palate cleanser, I'm going to rewatch Kimetsu no Yaiba and watch the season that recently ended.

I'm rewatching arcs from Naruto Shippuden because I read the manga and the anime has scenes I've never seen before. Right now I'm watching the founding of the leaf. When Madara revealed he gained the sharingan hashirama should have revealed wood release so both of them gained something in the exchange.

Another Comic Con this weekend; this one is really small and pretty much the only draw is the celebrities.

Freaking Johnny Yong Bosch is gonna be there; I may have to get more than one autograph from him just because there's SO much to choose from. I was also thinking of getting one from Dante Basco (Zuko) for someone else, but then I realized I somehow missed that Austin St. John will also be there. My brother and I were huge Power Rangers fans as kids (I even met and worked with Jason David Frank a few times), so I just can't pass up the original Red Ranger. This is gonna get expensive.

there is, last year it came out, season 3. but uh, i'm looking through season 2s episode descriptions and i don't think i've seen them either? like i know them, because i read the manga, but i can't for the life of me remember if i watched it or not

Whelp, watched the latest JJK which concludes this prequel arc and now we get a nice long wait before the next episode sadly. We get TWO recap episodes followed by nothing airing on the 24th. It's not till the 31st the much hyped "shibuya arc" begins.

Blazed right through the latest arc of Kimetsu no Yaiba and pretty pumped for the next bit, though I hear it's rather short. Was a bit disappointed it was only 11 eps long, but it turns out the first and last eps of it were double length, so it's essentially 13 eps long.

As for gaming, I kicked the final bosses ass in TotK right now, so I'm not sure what I'm playing next on my switch.

I have discovered that, if I fire up almost any JRPG that was released circa 2012, the chance of JYB doing a voice for it is significant. I cracked open Trails in the Sky FC recently, and, sure enough, there he was.

i still can't figure if i've seen this season of railgun. first half of s2 was the sisters arc, which...i thought was the first season. whatever, i did definitely see that one. or did i? maybe i only saw it in index. but then i fully remembered the railgun v meltdowner fight and that wasn't in index.

but the second arc of s2 is something i thought was in the accelerator series, so what the fuck

i thought season 2 was about the girls going to a new prison thing and competing to try and break out, like i swear i saw this one animed because i remember the wind girls friends killing some robot-ass dogs with like water magic n shit

so now i went and checked episode plots of season 3, and that's that. so did i just like not watch season 2 and yet somehow watched season 3 even though i wasn't even watching anime still in 2020? like i just restarted watching anime a the end of last year. before that i had quit at the end of s2 of stray dogs. that was 2018. s2 of railgun was 2016 so it's entirely possible i did watch it. but by all measures, i should not have seen season 3.

I decided to call it early on this con, for a few reasons. There was almost nothing to do at all; there were only two panel rooms and most of the panels were just guest Q&A. Most of my time spent there was just waiting in line for an autograph, and all the events ended at 6. I had already spent too much money, and if I had stayed any longer I would have had to spring for a ride home instead of taking the bus.

What sucks is that I turned down a party to go there. There was a volunteer appreciation party today for the con I worked at three weeks ago, but it was at the same time as this con.

That's unfortunate. Oh well, maybe a weak con will make the better cons feel that much better with the lower point of comparison or something. Idk.

In anime watching news the OP at level 1 anime is so fucking weird. I already complained in episode 2 or 3 that it felt like they had the recap for the next episode instead of the current one but no, they just do that every time. The 2 or so minutes before the OP is literally just a spoiler recap of the episode thats about to happen. I can't possibly imagine why anyone would do this. It's not just a quick teaser either, it's a full minute+ showing exactly what happens. Maybe they realized the show is kinda trash and figured people might enjoy it more 1 minute at a time and just use that as an excuse to skip the episodes? I really do not know.

Last 3 weeks were such a grind at work that I skipped two whole chapters of BokuYaba. Haven't watched any anime in at least 3 weeks as well.

I finally have some spare time without much going on so it's time to catch up on a very long backlog of anime.
For one, I finished up Insomniacs After School. It is a solid Romance anime and has a good climax. I kind of wish the climax was drawn out a bit more, namely it being 1 episode instead of 2. It really feels like the main duo could have gotten a little bit more character development instead of the slideshow that we see in the final credits but overall it was an enjoyable experience.

Been watching My Home Hero. It's interesting, but I get a sense of dread watching it and it's slow going, since I'll do one ep before stopping. I'm through the first 5 eps so far.

I know Osu! has not been in the topic title for years, at this point, but I wonder if there is anybody left who still plays?

I never played much Osu to begin with but I haven't touched it in years.

Shark's topic about Bandori the other day got me thinking about hauling out my tablet and laughing at how bad I've gotten, but I haven't actually done so. It's been several years since I played now.
