Those changes are nice but man 30 rank difference is still pretty large. I feel like you should only be able to match with the rank bracket above and below your current rank.

Conquest sounds sick, I'd play that all the time.

Choose Your Card is awesome, way more deck flexibility.

Matchmaking changes seem ok. 30 rank difference is still big, but you have to understand there's a direct correlation between matchmake times and the range of opponents. They need a wide range to keep the 5 sec matchmake. Was MMR cheese by infinites really that big of a deal though?

from what little I gathered outside of this board, yes? but a "big" deal out of that 1% of players that reached infinite so probably not really in the grand scheme of things

I want that mutant masterpiece bundle but I don't know if I can justify spending 1800 gold just on that awesome Sentinel skin (the angel one is cool too but I never use him)

so I had a really weird sequence of events play out

I had Kraven and Vulture in the middle and played Iron Fist and Hulkbuster on the right, with the thought that since Iron Fist on reveals first, it would push the Hulkbuster before Hulkbuster latches on. But that's not what happened.

1. Iron Fist is played
2. Hulkbuster is played and latches onto Iron Fist
3. Iron Fist punches over the empty space where Hulkbuster used to be
4. Kraven gets +2 power for the empty space moving to middle

what the hell

Iron Fist normally punches whatever unit Hulk Buster latches onto, but Im guessing he cant hit himself? Cool bug

It makes sense from how the cards / location are written, I just didn't expect it.

Which actually brought up another question in one of my matches afterwards but I couldn't get the answer because people are jerks and run leech.

If I Aero on deaths domain do the cards that are pulled get destroyed? Since going off the wording and what happened with Shuri's lab they were played before being pulled so probably don't get destroyed?

You sure they hadnt played Shuri before? In my experience when you pull a card from a location before it flips with Aero, it doesnt get the when you play here location effect from either the original played spot or the spot you moved it to.

It was a zero that got doubled so if they had played a Shuri beforehand (I don't think they did but don't remember), it was an incredibly bad follow up to it.

Maybe they fucked up their sequencing and thought that they could both Shuri and Zero their Red Skull, Ive seen people try that sort of thing absentmindedly

Was the only card they played that turn which was weird in itself.

Just had someone Jubilee into Magik on bar with no name. It may have been a bot by the name / avatar. And if it was that just makes me think it knew the outcome of what card Jubilee would pull. Because if a normal person did that it was insane since they were definitely already losing one of the locations, they hadn't drawn any extra cards so their odds must have been shit and I had daredevil active that turn.

Probably time to take a break. Just had a horrendous run of luck drop 14 cubes in less than 30 minutes.

Had someone drop a Cosmo on T6 with prio to block shang chi which is obviously great play by them but I hate Cosmo so much.

Had someone pull Mbaku post game on the only location that it would win them the game on to win by 1 point.

Had a T6 double Death + double She-Hulk dropped on me which I thought could be the case after they skipped T5 (either that or double Infinaut). It was mainly annoying because I had Shang-Chi in hand but I had priority and I was winning by enough that I probably should stick it out in case they didn't have both of the cards.

Then had a T1 Galactus that ended up being a loss that was 100% my fault and should have been a win. I had played goose T2 so we were both limited in what we could play. I withheld a card on T5 which would have filled my side of the board because he had played Daredevil so I figured may as well wait to T6 to drop it. Except I had dropped storm the previous turn and completely forgot about it. So a 100% win turned into a 2 cube retreat because I was stupid.

There were other losses in there (only the Cosmo one was a 4 cuber) but was still a pretty tilting stretch. So had been at 68.5 and not back at 67.1

correct, do not use aero to pull their cards into a location like that or Luke's Bar, they wont suffer the negative effects and aero will

I was more dumbfounded that someone actually had him in their deck. And it's not like he was white border so they were trying to get boosters or something

were they running lockjaw? mbaku lockjaw is definitely a thing because you can put him back in your deck

I just lost 12 cubes in 2 games. Does this really phase you? I guess that's why you're 68 and I'm 48.

And then I lost 2 more a few mins later. There was a Raft. I drew all my 4s and 5s so he filled it. He's playing a movement deck and drops Aero and a gray Heimdall on 5. He literally got a free Heimdall while playing a movement deck.

I ended up playing more and dropped down to 65.9. I think meta has shifted somewhat and so now my deck isn't as good against what I'm running into.

I don't mind losing skids most of the time, it's when it comes in a chunk like that as you're approaching a rank wall that makes it suck. I was 15 cubes from the wall and now I'm 41 away. All my previous rank up I've bounced around between a small range before going on a run and breaking through to the next rank. That doesn't seem to be happening in the 60s.

I was caught off guard by Prof X being turned into a Symbiote on Klyntar in one of my losses. I figured he would just lockdown and not change.

I usually hang around the 9th rank for like 30-40 games before being able to break through.

That's an interesting interaction though. Prof X does block Venom and other destructions so it would make sense to block Klyntar.

Its rare to get him out this early (basically takes Project Pegasus), but Gamma Lab will turn him into a Hulk also

I've been testing Valkyrie in a Patriot deck and it seems to be going pretty well. You fill lanes so quickly with Debrii and Squirrel Girl and you pretty much always win a Valk lane because of Patriot or Blue Marvel buffs.

Also nobody expects Valk on turn 6 especially with Wasp and Misty Knight

Wouldn't you also try running Cerebro in that deck too? Or is it too unreliable? I guess you're only getting 1 lane and not everything so probably not great.

Yeah Cerebro is way too unreliable and Bishop, Mysterio, or Demon would take all of the buffs in this particular deck.

Lol. Just had someone snap against me and then their turn 6 play was to drop Zola into a lane protected by Armor where even if it wasn't protected they only had a 50/50 chance of hitting the right card.

I had someone snap before dropping a hobgoblin on their own cosmo, fist bump then retreat

Zoo decks always have really difficult math, but this one was fun to figure out. They snapped and then played Kazar, which was weird since it made them lose Bar With No Name. I definitely did not expect their Titania shenanigans on 6, that was fun.

But my Rogue on 6 won either way. Either I got their Kazar and won both left and mid, or I got Antman and won left and right.

Actually, they played Titania and Okoye on 6, and SG mid. If they played Titania and SG right, then they would've actually won this since only stealing Kazar would make me win. But again, zoo deck math is too hard, so you misplay like this.

Does Prof X stop Hulk Buster in his location from working (like if the opponent played it there same turn without priority)? Klyntar is not a destroy effect, it's a merge. AFAIK Hulk Buster is the only other thing with that effect. I also wonder whether Prof X can stop Gamma Lab, but only way I can think of for that to even happen is with certain locations. They should probably remove "etc" from his description and just list the exact things it stops either way

Well at this rate Ill be lucky to see tier 40 this season. Constantly against people with cards I dont have that are really good at fucking with your plays and half of them just seem randomly inserted in decks since theyre good enough to be (like Aero who you can basically run in anything)

I can confirm Hulk Buster still works, I had that happen literally yesterday, funny enough.

Trying a Mr Negative deck since the +5 energy location is common now. Probably not an ideal deck, but just something new to mess with. First game with it resulted in this

Was also the only game I won with it haha. Mr. Negative feels hard to play since if he doesnt come out until late or your best stuff is in hand at the start theres not much you can do with the deck? Granted Im missing some of the cards most people actually run in the deck, but still. Been using an Agatha deck today too since why not. Didnt know she hogs all the boosters though. Thats kinda neat

If youre not running Psylocke and Magik in a Mister Negative deck to get him out early and to get an extra draw out of him, its probably not worth playing. Many of the other cards are negotiable but definitely not those two. Maybe Sera as well

Man the peak is no fun for my deck as basically nothing benefits it and a lot of my cards actually suffer. But it's especially unfun when the opponent does T3 Leech into T4 Devil Dino on a flooding location.
