when you drew decently and played skillfully, shuri decks were already relatively aero proof, or at least compared to other decks

the goal against decks that run aero was often to stack 4 cards in one lane with either cosmo or armor to protect them and drop taskmaster in another on turn 6 to win

I don't think I have ever faced a Shuri deck that piled 4 cards in a lane. Or if I have it's really rare. All the Shuri decks I've played against have laid down very few cards. Normally protection and then their big endgame plays.

Now granted I'm only in the 70s so maybe that's a lot more common at higher ranks.

I have 30 Collectors Reserves saved up.

I pulled Sauron and I was excited to make him work but then I realized all of his decks are just Shuri decks.

Did a streamer post some Sera Hazmat Luke Cage deck today or something, Ive seen it like four times in the past hour

toxic sera is a pretty known commodity, but people might be trying to use it more in a world with less leeches

At least two of those games I chose not to play Leech on 5 which would have won me the game!

I feel like my good cards deck had a tempo/power issue. I can counterplay pretty well but turn 5 and 6 keep coming short in power.

I switched out Vision for Doc Ock and Enchantress for Shang and it seems to work well. Disrupting the enemy seems stronger than giving yourself flexibility right now.

I really think I'm going to have to change up my deck. It used to work fairly well but the meta has shifted in the past week or two to decks that it just has horrible matchups with.

I also like how they specify creating 0 cost cards being an issue but discard decks being able to drop 4+ 0 cost Swarms on T6 is fine. Even with just Modok it's 2 but if they hit Swarm pre-Modok it's a nightmare and it feels like they are at least semi consistently able to do that. Like I know Quinjet is more problematic as it doesn't require extra steps but when Swarms goes off against you it just sucks.

Yeah discard is stupid right now. Dracula gives you a 4-cost Infinaut that's invincible to Shang, and Hela is way OP even without Modok.

Master Mold wouldve been a great counter to Dracula if Modok didnt exist

Speaking of discard I was playing my Agatha Discard while folding laundry and got this early retreat. Agatha died to Danger Room so I was ready to retreat but then this happened.

This was the funniest match in a long time, thanks to Elysium and I suppose Sanctum as well.

On 3 I grabbed his Hobgoblin with White Queen, so I knew what was coming down mid. I played Aero on 4 on right to block it with a full lane (had a Sunspot there), thanks to his own Widow's Bite.

He Deadpool reacts and keeps playing? Drops Beast on 5 to pull back Hobgoblin and tries again on 6. This time I block it with his own Rock.

Gambit wasted his Knull but the funny thing is if he hit Galactus he would have lost by 10 power too. Galactus into a Dracula lane bad idea.

Had Quantum Tunnel in the same game as Asteroid M

LMAO at all the clickbait videos about how they killed Aero. Oh no the best card in the game is still one of the best just not unanimous, oh no, RIP

(Shang Chi is now the best card IMO)

I know that a Green Goblin played after Lockjaw will jump to the opponents side but then go back in the deck and the card Lockjaw pulls will be back on your side. Did the new card stay at Asteroid M?

Lockjaw, and/or Beast.

Lockjaw helps you churn through the deck to make sure you get Cerebro, and Beast is great for picking up cards that are added by effects or buffed and you need to remove from the board.

It's still good for my RNG deck which is all I care about. Nerfing Thanos is good so I'll see them less.

Hurt Hood more than Quinjet. May actually replace Hood with Coulson or Maria Hill at this point.

Ive been burned far too many times by mystique coming out of lockjaw to put those two in the same deck again

Id suggest blue marvel as its generally a cerebro 2 staple

I havent had the best luck with Mystique in Cerebro, another 0 when you need all the power you can get is pushing it.

Blue Marvel on the other hand, great card for it. Buffing everyone up so it becomes impromptu Cerebro 3 is

Man the new token thing is so good. Got 400 tokens and then 500 tokens from Reserves after I got Steampunk Cerebro.

I don't get why they didn't just make the stones part of your deck. Killing Quinjet just to hurt Thanos doesn't make sense.

Only thing I can think of is if a stone got hit by Iceman, they still wanted it to be 1 with Quinjet.

Could be future proofing for interactions for cards that arent introduced yet

Probably shouldve expected it, but note to self Absoring Man after Morph will not have Absorbing Man turn into a card in the enemys hand. I got a great result with this random deck I put together and this location just made it better.

also i will be greatly looking forward to howard the duck and will probably play him in most control / combo style decks.

knowing a turn in advance if i'll draw galactus by turn 5/6 is absolutely huge for snapping / retreating

I think that unfortunately just causes everyone to not name their decks, which would simply make part of the game annoying.

i don't think they would do this because it would limit design space for locations that don't have inversions that make sense

like quantum tunnel for example, what's the inverse of that?

or maybe the raft is a better example. are you just straight up negating the effect? or the first person to "not fill this" draws a 6 cost card that costs 0?

the clarity i think starts to get really sus especially as they add more and more unique locations into the game

True, it wouldnt work for some locations. Some others it would work on could be pretty interesting though. Its a lot simpler to just ruin a location with Rhino or change it with Scarlet Witch than anything else manipulating them.

well if snowguard stays the same as the datamined version, that'll be the card for everyone who wants to do location antics

Played 7 games before my afternoon meeting. All 7 were Shuri decks or looked like Shuri decks. 2 of them didn't play her but the components they did play are all associated with that deck so I assume they didn't draw her or did it late.

Luckily I match up fairly well with Shuri decks but it's kinda predictable it's heading that way after the non changes.

I was thinking the same thing.

You'd have to make it like "location effect happens this turn" for ones like Murderworld, where the effect specifically says Turn 3.

Also, what do we think is the least-optimized card that needs a rework or significant buff?

I feel like it's gotta be Crystal, right?

Make it so she affects both players, or you draw more than 3, or something, because 4/4 for that effect is so pointless.

Crystal would be completely fine if she cost 3. Or if she was like 4/6. I think 3/3 same effect makes her pretty good.
