How many of these guys were you around for? How many of their decks are an actual threat?

Honestly, just Yugi. I watched maybe a couple episodes of GX and just bounced off, maybe because Jaden is the only one with a sensible hair style.

Boy you really should go back to it, Jaden has seen some shit. Honestly I recommend going through 5D's as well and just ignoring the rest of the franchise none of them had Kaz's touch and now none of them ever will again. :(

That is on my Anime To-Do List, but I'm keeping it to shorter series for the moment, and Yu-Gi-Oh is not that.

Oh right, GX has almost 200 episodes and 5D's has over 150

I honestly want to watch Sevens and Go Rush.

But for TV, I only went as far as Yugi, really. Even then only the Duelist Kingdom (Battle City and Memory World through manga).
Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon's appearance will always be a favorite of mine.
(Too bad that card is ultra shit, Konami pls)

Only was really into the original, but I've been checking out Arc-V off and on because Pendulums best deck.

As for which one has the best irl deck?

Yugi never really had a consistent deck. True to the day he was just running random goodstuff piles with an occasional tribute fodder engine. Dark Magician, Poker Knights, Egyptian Gods, and Magnet Warriors are all casual-tier. Gadgets sometimes show up in machine decks but are never the main event.

Jaden saw some relative success when the Hero Strike structure came out, and Masked/Elemental Hero mash was decent. Not meta iirc, but decent. Modern hero decks are a mash of all sorts of different sub-archetypes and are less a "Jaden" deck and more of a GX-themed warrior deck.

Yusei's stardust/synchrons can put up absolutely disgusting endboards that are hard to get over, but only if they go first, and the modern build dies if your opponent negates Junk Speeder. Stardust Dragon was an extra deck staple for a long time.

Nobody gives a fuck about Yuma's main deck, but the Utopia cards can do some nice OTKs and honestly aren't a bad package to run if your deck has the space.

Yuya's kind of an odd one. Performapals are a largely junk archetype, but back in the Pendulum era they were combined with Performages and Dracoslayers to create one of the most infamously toxic decks in the game's history (PePe). Pendulum Magicians are a consistently decent rogue archetype but they're so combo-reliant they can't run many handtraps without risking a brick hand, so they have very little interruption going second. Odd-Eyes are strictly casual, though the original pendulum dragon used to be really good generic pendulum support.

Playmaker...kinda zoned out on Links but Codetalkers can do some things. Accesscode Talker is still an extra deck staple to this day and Firewall Dragon was pure, degenerate, evil

Never paid attention to Rush duels so idk anything about them. >_>

In addition to the usual vast amounts of Hopium I'm huffing for IoC to be released, I'm hoping that with the 1st anniversary coming up soon, they add in SP Challenge 3 based off the 5D's era as part of the celebration.

No sign of any announcements regarding Master Duel's 1st anniversary next week...

Oh snap, I didn't even know Lovely had another card.

I recently had a sick duel with my old PaleoZoo deck in which I think I made one big error and basically lost, vs. Eldlich. It didn't feel good but it was such a good duel that it also felt good, if you know what I mean.

This prompted me to see what my options are to improve the deck, cuz it sure needs more oomph. I was recently fantasizing about leaning far heavily into paleos instead of only having 9 of the best one.

Then I noticed I can fit Labyrnth in there. I had most of the cards from going big into the Runick stuff. Sadly, it turns out that the Labyrnth stuff locks my Extra Deck quite a bit into the fiends or just not at all in general if I use Dogmatika Punishment, which I want to be using to send the Paleo link to the GY.

Long story short, not the best synergy. But it's not impossible either. Furnace is an easily resummonable lvl 2. I can also just forgo some of Laby's strengths to enable faster Paleo rotation, by not running Punishment

Pure Drytrons without Herald can be pretty fun as a going 2nd deck. Play Lava Golem (Kaijus won't work because Drytrons restrict you to only monsters that can't be normal summoned or set) and some board breakers, summon their in-archetype boss monsters with 4000 ATK, and either KO on turn 2 or turn the Drytron Xyz monster into Zeus to hinder the opponent's turn 3 comeback attempt. It's nowhere near diamond-worthy, but can still be fun to play in the lower ranks. When stuck going first, you can search for Vanity's Ruler with Benten and tribute summon it.

Yeah, I figured that the way to go is to make Drytron into a beatstick, but then after reading stuff I learned that Drytron needs more stuff to start than other deck for it and thus pretty susceptible.

Like how it needs two Drytron names to start.

But Drytrons look cool.

I still need to pull Diviner, lol.

I'm playing a Spirit deck because I hate myself and man.... I really wish they got more support.

I dont think Spirits were ever intended to be an archetype unto themselves. I always figured they were just another card type and you tech'd in whichever ones synergized with your deck...

Asura priest, Amano iwato, Yata all saw play at some point. They're just a few cards away from working I swear. They do have a decent amount of actual support, in aratama and nikitama, and the shino guys.

So, I started playing Runick (Invoked Runick, specifically), and... thus far, I am not impressed. Maybe it's because my hand is a magnet for the non-Runick quickplay spells in the deck (CbtG, Droplet), maybe it's because I keep drawing multiple copies of the same spell when I... ya know, need literally anything else, but I am not drawing the crazy hands that other people always seem to get when I'm facing the deck.

Ah well, I'm in the basement of Platinum, I have time to learn the deck and absorb the soul of an ancient Egyptian Pharaoh.

We can just use the usual extra deck suspect.

Including Accesscode Talker, because Cyberse is just a computer spirits. /shot

You probably shouldn't run Droplets in Runicks. You get more advantage off running extra Runick stuff. The only thing that should clog your hand on the strongest Runick build (Floodgates sadly) are the continuous trap cards, which you can always pitch for field spell

Banlist for the festival is out and it is completely incomprehensible.

It feels like someone just sat down and hit stuff at random lol. Apparently Igknight FTK is completely legal. >_>

I find it funny that MDM arranged AW Guan Yun to have a spot in the middle of all the URs lol

I love how Kozmos and Ultra Athletes somehow keep slipping under Konami's radar and dodging event banlists. They're like the ultimate "no fucks given" decks to use for events. I do have Crusadias on my main account and Beetroopers on my side account for archetypes that were actually in the solo mode and would be in the spirit of the event, but I think going in with the sportsball chads would be way funnier.

Outside of staples (and Dimension Shifter but that's banned in this event anyways) the only UR's you need for Ultra Athletes are 2-3 copies of Player Manager and maybe 1 copy of Playmaker. Kozmos are also very usable with only a few UR's, which would be 1-2 copies of Farmgirl and maybe 1 copy of One For One to summon Tincan. For both decks, the extra deck is just Extravagance/Prosperity fodder.

Someone check if Red-Eyes stuff are banned, I can't touch my PC rn.

Yeah, I'm just playing Crusadia for this event. Only had to remove one card from my deck, and that was Bagooska.

Oof, tried Paleos, but Toadally is banned, so it's definitely not as good. Holy shit they really did this deck dirty in the Link era and then proceeded to never support this deck til kingdom come.

So I think I'm gonna shoot for Shiranui as my main, and I do have a Crusadia deck which I can break out if I want to unga bunga.

My main worry is Orcust. They're one of the few legitimate rogue threats featured in solo. I do need to get the rank 8 guy anyway, so if I cant beat him, I'll just join em >_>

It's meant to shine a spotlight on the solo mode and the archetypes that have been featured in it, so any remotely good archetype that isn't featured in the solo modes is hit to various degrees. It can range from a single hit to a good card, like Chaos Max being the only Blue-Eyes card banned, to being completely slaughtered to unplayability, like Sky Strikers losing Raye herself or every single Floowandereeze bird being banned. Plus, they also banned a lot of cards that are part of archetypes but are used generically outside of their archetypes too often. That's why cards like Accesscode, Baronne, and Borreload Savage are banned but Zeus and Apollousa (which aren't part of an archetype) are allowed.

So Red-Eyes, Suship, and Gaia are untouched.
Dragonmaid lost Sheou, Hospitality, Tidying, and Chamber.
Buster Blader lost the DDS and Buster Dragon on top of Dragon Buster.

Rokkets don't seem to be hit, but maybe I missed Quick Launch or Boot Sector when I skimmed the list. But the Borrels lost their usual bosses and leaving only Furious, Riot, OG, Guard, and eXcharge.

Wyverburster/Collapserpent are untouched, but Chaos Space gets the boot.

Hmmm, so many choices.

All the stuff for my shark deck finally came in! I had also forgotten that I bought water oversleeves a while ago so I finally put them to use for my extra Deck, tho they're a lot bigger than I expected lol

Also Owners Seal works with Nibiru.

Ran into a pendulum player doing pendulum things, just taking all day with his turn, waited until he dumped all of his resourced into a fat pendulum summon, Nibiru everything, he passes.

My turn, Owners seal, take that 10k beatstick token, hes got nothing on his field, have a nice day gg.

Always great when some people are out here using 20 cards or more in a single turn. Im out here winning duels with just playing two cards, just a nib and a owners seal lol.
