To be fair, nobody runs Ash Blossom for "waifu" appeal. (Well, I'm sure some people do, but we don't talk about them) She's a strong card and young girl spirits are pretty common in Japanese folklore.

Summon spam can seem intimidating, but it really has no correlation to deck strength. I will forever point to Flower Cardians, which can summon their whole deck and extra deck, and do absolutely nothing worthwhile (No, really, their whole deck. Cardian's biggest win condition is hoping you activate Maxx C so they can deck you out lmao). Meanwhile Eldlich sits on their single boss monster and fucks you over with trap cards.

If you wanted to play modern Yugioh there are plenty of stun/control decks that will grind the game down to a much slower pace, and don't require many special summons.

Umi/Kairyushin Control forces your opponent to only being able to use one non-water monster. Sky Strikers generally sits on one form-changing monster who acts as a resource engine, and disrupts your opponents with spells. Runick uses spell cards to banish your opponent's entire deck and only needs to summon once per turn. Labrynth is another trap-based deck that typically only needs to summon its boss monster, but instead of relying on floodgates it relies on a variety of removal options. Then there's "fun" stuff like Inspector Boarder/Fossil Dyna which effectively make it so your opponent can't play the game at all, lmao

There are combo decks in every format, but a lot of decks don't even summon that much anymore. Despia summons like 4? SwoSo summons 6, Runicks literally summon 1, if even, Labyrinth summons 1~3. Those are like the meta right now, and yeah none of them reach too big of a number cuz cards like Nibiru exist.

HEROs are not meta nor have they been for the last decade or so. Their problem literally is that they summon a lot, which opens them up to be Nibiru'd and they just lose, and that they don't do a whole lot with a lot of summoning.

Right now, Adamancipators probably summon as much as HEROs and are considered high to top tier, but they mostly take long because of their excavations more than anything

Technically you can also gear SwoSos to be super long combo but that's not necessary to build a strong field.

Sykkuno in general gravitates towards long combo heavy decks like Synchrons and HEROs. But it's just a single deck type, and you're not gonna find too many long combo decks right now, so seems a bit disingenuous. If anything, people taking too long to think is the worst thing about low-mid rank Master Duel.

Just sort of logging in to do dailies for now, phoning it in with Odd Eyes/Mages since they can clear most of the missions turn 1 lol.

Gonna look into some other Rank 3/4/5 options for Wind-Ups. Disgusting negate-spam combos are fun to set up but I want to make a variant that's a bit more interactive, even if it doesn't end up being as competitive.

...and apparently I have a playset of Cicada King?! No idea when that happened, but now I'm kind of regretting not pulling for Beetroopers.

Man fuck Bystials. I lost against my best matchup at locals tonight because I opened 2 Magnamhut, 2 Druistwurm, and a gozen match BOTH FUCKING GAMES. So I'm about to toss them out of the deck entirely.

I do like decks that blow themselves up. And it doesn't look like it's very UR intensive so long as I avoid trying to build a Grass pile. (Though given how much zombie stuff I have Grass maybe wouldn't be a bad investment >_>)

Might try pulling for another archetype that has a bunch of URs and then use the surplus SR dust to do either Rokkets or Dragon Link.

Frankly, unlike Dragon Link, Rokkets are considered bad, lol.

Linkage literally came out like last month in TCG. It's not gonna be here for at least 2 months later or so

Most of the decks Im interested in are either outdated or bad. Like, Im legitimately considering Fortune Ladies. >_> (Though they only have the one synchro monster and spell so they're probably cheap too lol)

There is a Fortune Lady Exodia deck out there. It's crap but it's also usable. It's reliant on drawing Monster Reborn of all things, but there has to be a modern build that works. I can't find it but it was in one of Farfa's Table 500 series videos. Thought it was pretty funny.

Basically you constantly de-synchro a monster you used 2 Fortune Lady Water to build, and you draw 4 every time, which will eventually get you to your magical stone excavations etc to do the things. Yes, the things

Pure Fortune Ladies are kinda crap ngl. They had a legitimate chance to do something interesting with the smaller fairies. And they ended up being the biggest fucking stinkers the Ladies have seen. Every is good but that's about it for this deck now.

So what Therions are used in Striker? Just Regulus and the field spell?

Getting kinda burnt out on this game

Based on the deck recipes I saw in my quick Google search, yes. The idea is that Regulus provides an extra negate (and it tributes itself out of the main monster zone to use that negate so it turns the Sky Striker backrow cards back on) plus its 2800 ATK is enough so that it plus Accesscode is enough to OTK an opponent at full LP. It's basically in a similar support role that DPE would be. The field spell searches Regulus (either upon activation or through its two on-field effects) and can also dump another copy of itself to get more spells in the GY to fuel the Sky Striker spells.

Regulus' summoning condition involving equipping a Machine monster (likely a Sky Striker link) from the GY to it also has the added benefit of providing another card to use as a cost for Forbidden Droplet, and it would count as a monster for the "your opponent cannot activate cards, or the effects of cards, with the same original type as the cards sent to the GY to activate this card" part of the effect despite being an equip spell on the field.

If the field spell is SR I'll probably just craft 2 Regulus and build Therion Strikers. If the spell is UR I'll pass. >_>

Though Therion Strikers fall off massively hard once Bystials and Ishizu stuff drop and they start destroying most 1-2 card in GY reliant decks. By destroy, I pretty much mean like they're just gonna be unplayable, like near 0% win rate against most decks running the 2 archetypes.

Strikers really freaking want Raye in grave, and in the coming future, it's gonna be nearly impossible to keep her in grave, which basically makes Strikers at best an ok engine that relies on getting Engage draws. It's basically impossible in TCG due to all the limits and bans, but with Kagari/Engage at 2, it's gonna be an ok engine. Runicks will sadly probably be a bit better, but even they're hit massively hard by Ishizu stuff. Also field spell hate will be pretty strong during the Tear era, which makes Runicks less powerful

I swear, if Bystials come to the game and make Sky Strikers unplayable before Linkage comes to the game, I'm uninstalling.

Bystials are unfair. They kill a lot of decks like Sky Strikers/Eldlich. They are like the perfect handtraps. If they dont ban and limit the bystials then I am done with this game for a while.

They're basically 1 set apart from each other and Bystials come first. So the chance of that is incredibly low sadly. They needed to straight up give Sky Strikers an anti-banish continuous effect for them to stand a barely even chance against most meta decks. Unfortunately, they have not, and Sky Striker isn't even really rogue anymore. Losing Mystic Mine in the long running list of things they've lost to stay relevant certainly doesn't help

Also doesn't help that the manga Sky Strikers cards are... mostly horse shit? I mean pure Sky Strikers were really focused on a certain plan, and none of the new cards really add to it, nor do they really present a plan of their own

Just had the best duel ever. Dude was playing evil twins. Had the board set up with a WINTER CHERRIES with moon mirror shield, and lose 1 turn out which destroys that archetype.

Me: Negate with Dark Bribe
Opponent: Lightning Storm
Me: Negate with Solemn Judgment
Opponent: ANOTHER Lightning Storm
Me: ANOTHER Negate with Solemn Judgment

Unreal that he had that many cards. He went through a raigeki and 3 lightning storms during the duel, got out sunny snitch, and still couldnt pull out the win. That was amazing.

Not exactly dark/light hate (they themselves are dark/light), but they can banish /your/ dark/light monster to cough themselves to the board.

One of them, Magnamhut, is like D. D. Crow, but with the stat of Lv 7 monster and also searches another Bystial.
