It's impossible to de-rank from Gold back down to Silver except for the reset at the end of the month, so the person who made this meme has no idea how the system even works. Plus, if someone really wants to de-rank (or at least avoid ranking up from Gold 1 into Platinum 5 to the point where they can't go back down) it's much safer to do so by disconnecting during the coin flip rather than using the surrender button or a self-destruct deck. Tbh I start de-ranking as soon as I get to Gold 1, lol. Though at this point I just go out of my way to play shit decks with 20% win ratios. Get to de-rank while still playing YuGiOh >_> Plus it's always fun when you steal a win with some bullshit silliness.

I don't risk it at all. As soon as I hit Gold 1 for the season, I'll sit there and start disconnecting from duels over and over until I fall all the way back down to like Gold 4, then I don't even let myself get back into Gold 1 for the rest of the month. I hover in Gold 2-4 for the rest of the season at that point.

The gems in my box have an expiry date of 19th this month.

Wonder if we're going to have some packs by that point.

Of course the game goes down for maintenance right as I finish milling a 60-card reptile deck...

Pretty sure we get the next pack before then. They usually happen right around the end of the 2nd week/beginning of the third week of the month, don't they?

So tonight is the night where people are finally saying "either we get anniversary gifts tonight or we give up and Konami really isn't giving us anything for the 1 year anniversary", right? Because the game has been out for a little over a year now, and people on Reddit have been huffing massive amounts of copium as to why Konami haven't given us any anniversary gifts or even said a word about Master Duel's 1 year anniversary.

This is the last reasonable date to expect any announcements afaik, but who even knows with these jokers. They specifically referenced the upcoming anniversary with the Theme Chronicle pack, so I assume they must have something planned, even if it's only a few legacy tickets and "thank you for playing" lol

If something happens tonight; awesome! I look forward to whatever nonsense they come out with, even if it's incredibly disappointing.

If nothing comes from tonight except maybe announcing the next event... I get to say "Ko(na)mi Can't Communicate" and feel really smug for thinking of it, even if others beat me to the joke.

In case you guys didn't know, TCG just hit every single main deck Ishizu Tear cards to 1. Every single one of them, like none except ones that basically just released were left unhit. Honestly, this still doesn't fully hit their viability. Like Japan, people will revert back to Shaddoll centric control builds and will tech in 3 Swamps for the random hits as well as insane Guardian Chimera plays by using it to search a singleton Polymerization. But I think people will actually use more of the Shaddoll stuff to make up for the extra things they lost over OCG.

I guess they didn't fully hit Reinoheart. Ngl that actually makes this deck less sacky compared to how JP has to play it.

Still seems like a lame "anniversary" if this is really it, especially with no free gems or pulls like just about every other gacha game in existence gives out. Plus, not allowing players to craft the alternate artworks and forcing players to waste gems pulling from secret packs for decks they already completed just to get them (so they don't have those gems to pull for new cards and feel more of a need to spend money) feels shady. Making them limited-time only to mess with people's FOMO and doing it specifically around the time that two strong meta decks come to the game makes it feel even worse.

Between the lackluster anniversary (if this is really is) and the lack of communication, it feels like Konami doesn't care that much about Master Duel. Hell, they've given us more direct communication inside MD about Duel Links's anniversary than they have about MD's own anniversary.

The fact that Tearlaments just got massacred by the biggest assault of banlist hits since Dragon Rulers and people are still considering them viable is honestly just insane. This deck is basically Senator Armstrong using a bunch of other support cards as nanomachines to protect it from falling out of the meta, and it won't completely die until either every single card in the archetype is banned or it finally gets power-crept.

Well they also revealed a bunch of wacky dinosaurs with big attacks and levels and unga bunga protection. Can't tell if it would be meta, but depends on how easy it is to disrupt dinosaurs when baby dino is Earth and all the Ishizu stuff went to 1.

Basically as long as they release a stronger deck, then it's truly the end of Tears. But the last several decks have had like pretty un-wild level of power. It's possible they don't wanna go too crazy again right after calming down a t0 meta

All I know is there are a ton of buzzing about Crystal Beasts bh the scenes. They scoff at Bystials since Carbuncle doesn't spend much time in the gy at all. They can also still make Abyss Dweller or Bagooska on top of like Apollo USA, IP, Overdragon field wipe, Conclave/Rainbow Bridge bounce, and there isn't really a deck that can deal with most of that shit anymore nor reliably disrupt it. Ishizu stuff was essentially its last reliable obstacle. It's pretty hard to hand trap the deck too aside from like Ghost Ogre the Bridge. Ashing one of its 9 searchers ain't gonna do much

Tbh Sprights may also still be pretty strong. Elf needed to die since it's basically just Halq that hasn't killed a bunch of other cards around it yet. TCG still has Toadally so I don't see much reason to be afraid of their viability

But I'm just gonna make a hot take and say TCG is gonna learn from OCG and still have about 25% Tear top rep

The one bright side of today is that it felt so refreshing to play Eldlich again after so long thanks to the new banlist update. I hadn't used any of my Eldlich decks at all in the past couple of months, but getting Conquistador back at 2 and Eldland to 3 (but I'll only run 3 Eldland in my pure Eldlich deck, in my other variants I'll probably just stick with 2) is definitely nice. I played 2 games with my pure Eldlich deck, 1 with Branded Eldlich, and 1 with Zombie World Eldlich, won all of them, and had fun doing it.

Silver Demon Mommy may have taken over as my new trap deck recently, but I never forgot the fun times I had with Gold Zombie Daddy.

I've already got Yuya Pile ready. Can't wait for a proper announcement to know exactly what will be allowed.

Some people are speculating a Dark Magician structure deck, but that feels like hopium. I think it's more likely that it's a Magician-themed selection pack. But if it is a structure, I might bite the bullet and give them a go too.

Man I sure do love when I get matched up against grave-reliant decks while playing Exosisters. Can't wait for Martha to get here so the deck doesn't rely on two-card combos to get started.

Magnifica too, for that nice double banish, though I'm unfamiliar with how the deck plays with the new support and can't think of how I'd make her consistently.

Going first, this combo from 1-2 Exorsister cards in-hand results in 4 banishes on your opponent's turn as well as a beefy hard-to-kill 2800 ATK monster!

How are Exosisters? Ive never seen them played and dont quite get them as an Archtype. Would you mind giving me the gist of them?

Looking for a new deck and 4 banishes sounds spicy!

Exosisters are an reactive, anti-meta deck. Their main gimmick is that the main deck monsters can 1-card Xyz into any of the extra deck monsters (except Magnifica, who "must" be properly summoned) when your opponent moves anything out of the graveyard.

Without the rest of their support, their current gameplan is to get Vadis set on the field (summons two sisters from the deck), activate it when you know your opponent is about to move something out of the grave (revive, add to hand, banish, certain fusion spells, etc.) and then toolbox into whichever Xyz nuns are going to help you that turn. (Mikalis has a targeting banish, Gibrine has a targeted negate, Kapistel locks gy revivals for the turn, and Asophiel prevents gy effect activations)

The new cards are going to include Martha (summons another sister for a 1-card combo into Xyz plays), Magnifica (non-targeting banish, can tag out into one of the Xyzs used as material to make her) and Returnia (one targeting banish, then choose 1 between xyz summon on your opponent's turn, or non-targeting banish if you already Xyz summoned)

Yeah I'm pretty comfortable with the combo lines and everything so it'll be pretty easy to climb the ladder with them. Plus I'm really gonna miss elf

Sky Striker lost the plot and summoned Knightmare Phoenix with no cards in hand. I had Vadis set anyway so even if they summoned Kagari, Raye was gonna get banished that turn. >____>

Meanwhile I went ahead and crafted two Necrovalleys. And one of my first duels I activated it while going first, my opponent ended up playing Gravekeepers. Hope they got a good laugh outta that, because I did <____<

So I got my first mill victory with Invoked Runicks today, which was nice. I almost got a second one against Marincess (literally drained their deck), but... yeah, that Link-3 that gains 600 attack per banished monster that turn got a bit out of control, and I only had one monster on the field.
