I play with GTX970 1080p on low setting and this is the first time the card has really failed me.

People say it's an optimization issue but my real complaint are the crashes I'm getting.

I know right? 970 is still a real beast for 1080p.

Kind of hard to afford a new card even after the crypto scene tbh. Only time I see myself upgrading is when it goes out on me.

I have a 970 so I can relate. Still the game ran fine for the most part. Not buttery smooth 60 fps but what can you expect from a many years old card.

it's not your GPU it's your mobo and RAM most likely, I played lots of games on a 970, the next step up is a 1660 ti, same graphics but better memory speed

a 1060 3gb is pretty comparable to a 970 4gb:

The 970 is basically defective, it's not the game's fault.

My brother was playing it on a 750 ti before an update broke compatibility for that old card.

Hmm, you mean the vram issue? Not sure if the recc specs is telling me if it uses 3 or 4.

I get like 40fps standing outside but it's not at all stable and has stutters.

I really would like to play it all day but it crashes like after a hour of play and that spoils the mood.

I am not going to blame the developers when they say "This is what we think you will need to play our game" and you try to play it with something that isn't supported. I will gladly say a game is shit if you are playing on something at or above what the developer thinks you need and the game still plays like crap.

It would be like someone complaining that Netflix doesn't stream properly in IE6.

At first it was crashing alongside my logitech setpoint. I asked the steam forums if there was a conflict with easy anti-cheat but no one could tell me anything.

No way this is a REAL post. You can't be a real person who thinks a 970 is gonna work. My 1080 works just fine but you are ANCIENT. Upgrade your computer. They aren't meant to last forever. Try running it on an Atari Jaguar next time.

And yet the difference is startling. It's almost as if the PS2 is only "Slightly Older" than the PS3. Or a thousand other scenario's. Think before you speak.

PC games have Min Specs for a reason. A 970 is extremely dated. The 1080 still works. (Drops mic)

Yet when the 1080 came out it was one of the best GPU's on the market when the 970 came out it was not. If you buy near top of the line it will last a bit longer that is how the PC market works.

Hmm, yeah. I bet the CPU is too old too. It's an overclocked i7 that was released before. This is literally the first game I can't play on any settings if that's the case. Unfortuanely, I can't upgrade that because I would need a new motherboard (+ram). I think changing the motherboard might invalidate my OEM license because it's considered a new computer.

The only other thing I can think of was that I didn't do a clean install when upgrading Windows or it's a driver problem. When I first launched ER, it was stuck in 800x450 resolution and a few other games that worked previously wouldn't do borderless fullscreen. Someone was kind enough to help me out on the forums and I discovered changing the hz to 59 and back to 60 fixed that problem.

It probably will, but my understanding is that by contacting Microsoft directly you can usually get the license transferred over. It's just a couple extra hoops to jump through.

While I certainly won't sit here and deny that developers have been shafting PC versions of multi-ports for a decade and change now, this is still likely due to individual PC comps. I never had such issues, and my rig definitely isn't on the cutting edge.

My PC is a beast, and never had issues, so its not a full on PC issue. Old hardware definitely is a factor here, some people say there were issues with newer then his, but doesnt mean all had issues

CPU: AMD 5950X
GPU: RTX 3090
RAM: 64gb
