You are now challenged to play (and beat if possible) at least one game in either of the two series that are represented by your two numbers below at some point during 2023, regardless of whether you have ever played a game from that series or have already played all the games in that series.

You can choose between either series based on the numbers you chose and are not challenged to do both (though you can should you wish). If you only thought of 1 number (or picked the same number twice), then you're stuck with that one series.

Example

• You picked Numbers 11 and 60
• You check to see which two gaming series are listed next to those numbers in the list below.
• You can choose which of the two series you would like to try playing an installment from at some point within the next year.

In some cases, I have split up several of the bigger series into sub-series (for example, the Mario franchise has been split up into several subseries for the purposes of this list).

Obviously, availability can be a problem if certain titles are no longer (or not currently) available to play/purchase in your region for whatever reason (or any possible methods to still play a title in said series are overpriced), so in the event you are unable to play a game from said series (or find a way you feel comfortable playing it), you are free to watch some sort of playthrough of it online (either through a Let's Play, someone streaming, or just a playthrough with no commentary) if you can find one.

You are also not required to play/watch the entire game if you obviously cannot get into it after a certain amoutn of time. If you're not feeling it after roughly an hour of gameplay you can quit.

There is no reward/prize in you actually doing this. It's just a fun challenge for the new year, and one that could perhaps introduce people to a series that they have never played before or have only played one or two games in the seies.

Actually not a bad selection with regard to my familiarity since I have never touched Call of Duty and played Tomb Raider 2 (I'm wanting to say) for like 30 minutes when I was 14.

heck it sure i should get around to more tekkens i guess, not really a fighting game i actively wanted to dive into singleplayer for but why not. don't really feel like replaying mother games maybe i'll play some clone of some sort, got a few on my backlog

Spyro and Xenosaga. I've already beaten the OG trilogy of both of these so unless I replay Spyro 1 I'm just gonna pass. Whoops!

Five Night's At Freddy's and Persona.

I was probably going to replay Persona 3 Portable at some point next year, regardless. Freddy's.... Maybe if it were free. I've seen most of the games played.

Some of the games have things that can be considered "beatable" goals. GCN Animal Crossing gives you something for paying off your loan. New Horizons has the whole thing about getting K.K. Slider to your island, that leads into the credits.
