Ben also had no right to be Town, I was practically screaming to lynch him over MZero who I thought was very obviously Town despite some dodgy reads. Overall a solid game from Scum though, I think they identified their wincon as soon as MZero claimed and executed it perfectly. Ctes in particular I didn't call as scum, and I think they would have won with a Plum lynch sooner or later even if this day didn't sort it.

I came in to tell you guys he was modkilled. I saw two of you saying you did not want him modkilled and wanted the day to continue. Letting him live actually worked against you guys, but since the consensus was to allow him to keep playing, I stayed my hammer. It turned out to be the wrong thing to do, since he got modkilled anyway two days later. Oops!

To be fair, killing him would also remove him as a threat.
But in the end we figured killing MI would work better (and also I reasoned it could make town get a false sense of security because we were setting up kills for more nights instead of going all in on mislynching Ben)

for the record I had it at 50/50 odds. Corrik said if we were rolling to adjust them more in favor of him living, and result from the roll would have been to kill BCT if we went with the original parameters

It's why I played up how wild it was people were relying on RNG in the gane itself lol

Also no I have no idea why Corrik thought MI was on his list, or why he faked being prostituted.

while I dont think this is all that bad on its own, I am unsure how to feel about it given that scare relied on the bct post to sow confusion.

I mean I don't think that's why town lost but yeah. Town was playing from behind for sure. Honestly if you make the gladiator slot town and the scum gladiator slot vanilla it's closer.

Scum actually thought they were underpowered, particularly in the early game when I was getting a lot of complaints.

Town had a strong scanner + two masons (balancing in as two cop scans). They also had the only protection against arsonist (two vs zero for scum). It didn't help arsonist got popped immediately.

A 4 +1 here is patently unfair for scum. Town had a daykill and with arsonist, scum could be wiped by night 2. I could've done a 4 + 1, I suppose, but it involved some major reworking of the scum team. Balance is always 25-33% anti-town, and a scum team of 4 in 18 is just really rough unless I make them bonkers powered, in which case it becomes swingy. Which, I mean, can be fun but it can also be a headache.

Also I was trying to play intentionally bad and scum shot me.

Scum played very well. Good job to everyone, and thank you Suprak for hosting! I hope this is not the end of the yearly series, but a final game sounds hype too

We didn't have any defenses against the arsonist tho, and almost none against Changmas.
We just lucked out with RBs and our own scans. I targeted Mzero night1 and realized what he was.

in theory the game was probably pretty balanced, but the way that it actually played out didn't feel that way (3p killing role and town vig dead after n1 is a gigantic swing towards scum)

This game was originally set up with Trump as a cult leader, not an arsonist, but I just couldn't get it to balance right. The flavor fit was too perfect and I really wanted to use it (I was initially his first cult member, not a wonky double vote), but it was just too hard to get it to a state that wasn't going to lead to a lot of complaining. I mean, people always complain about set up so in a sense that can't be avoided, but cult games have a tendency to be a mess.

The mindgame of scum gladiator and scum dayvig is really strong. Town will generally consider at least one confirmed.

It was probably also unfair to put Mzero and Ben o the same side.

Though I agree that Gladiator and Dayvig dont fill the same slots.

Yeah, they got lucky killing 3p night 1. This is the second game I've hosted where scum unintentionally popped the 3p role immediately, and it can lead to snowballs like this. Honestly, though, I was almost positive town was going to win during that day 2/day 3 period. You guys can complain about balance, but you also lynched 2 of your power roles back to back. In fact, all three mislynches were on power. Not a single vanilla was mislynched this game, which is bizarre in a town loss.

The only change that was possible for me to make was to swap BCT's role from double voter to a thief. He was initially That Guy Who Wore A Viking Costume To A Coup, TOWN Idiot Thief. Flavor was him stealing Pelosi's laptop. He got items from power roles but any vanilla would return a no result. He wasn't told he would get no result from vanilla though, and the items he got were poorly described. I liked the flavor fit, but I liked the balance more with a double voter that could hide their second vote and count for parity.

I mean, that role is solid in the right hands. You can hide the fact you're a double voter and town gets an extra number towards parity. It just wasn't used right.

Town had two protection roles against scum and two against arsonist. You guys didn't have any, but I gave you tools to find and kill/drive a lynch on him. I didn't want a scum arsonist protection role as that is tough on the arsonist.

I've been back home since Saturday.

Very unlikely scenario, and I was also ok with red being forced to drive a final mislynch on one of them. Those two aren't necessarily confirmed to each other.

He's an arsonist, not a SK, too. So even if they were not fireproof, he might've needed an extra day to douse regardless.

Just shouldn't leave a vote down, regardless of what you think set up is. Just in case, if there's a chance its at mylo you probably want to wait. That's the only thing I'd suggest. Otherwise you were doing a good job digging around and changing your own mind, which is very hard.

I do find it amusing that town had zero scans so the only scum who died basically outted themselves

It was not a great game played by anyone who died

I didn't follow super closely, just skimmed when i was around. Kind of glad plum replaced in, because i was pretty convinced that bct and Ben were scum.

I had death and ctes both on my d1 lists but removed them on d2 when i couldn't remember why i thought they were scummy.

Yeah, could have just not said anything. Putting it out there revealed Isquen and Ben outed himself, and that ended up putting suspicion on him all game. I would say creating chaos post shot did much more for us than the kill itself

it was not a great game played by many of us who were alive (me)

I had no idea why Scare did anything that he did, haha. He claimed something kind of off the safe list, but in a way that was phrased that went against the flavor of the game. Like, it didn't fit with the flavor set up I said it would be. Also, I love day vig roles so just openly claiming one seemed bonkers crazy.

But...it kind of worked? Like he said it caused MI/Lea to doubt Han, caused half the TOWN to doubt Ben, and he got Isquen lynched. I know he got lynched day 2, but he kinda did a good job with it, honestly.

I thought it was a crazy play, but what do I know, I guess haha.
