I often have to actively remind myself that Aggron, Flygon, and Haxorus are not pseudos.

On the flip side, I tend to forget Heatran is a legendary.

I also forget heatran is a legendary. He doesn't seem all that distinct from other lava pokemon

I agree with Haxorus and Heatran.

I would also add random monkey Zarude.

Not anymore I think, but I used to assume Haxorus was gen 5's pseudo as I never played those games. Maybe Goodra for the other way around?

I still get mixed up between some mythicals and legendaries.

For anyone confused (MZero?), Aggron, Flygon and Haxorus aren't pseudolegendary because their base stat totals are 530, 520, 540 respectively. All pseudolegendaries have a total of 600. In fact, the japanese name for the group is literally 600, "600 club".

yeah, Zarude is such an odd mythical. Its got a cool design, but it doesnt seem special?

Arcanine is canonically a legendary

Volcarona is one.

In Heatran's case, it doesn't help that its first couple appearances in the anime treat it as just another Pokemon. The villain of one of the movies has a Heatran, but nobody comments on it being a legendary Pokemon, and his ace is Bronzong. Later in the Sinnoh League, a background trainer in a crowd scene has a Heatran.

Yeah it is, it's a mythical.

Yeah, but mythicals and legendaries are considered two different things nowadays I thought.

Technically yeah, but I don't think I've ever seen anyone who wouldn't still consider mythicals to be legendaries.

Technically, you are right about that. The Pokemon Company considers it to be in a class of Pokemon known as "Mythical Pokemon".

For many years, the fanbase treated Pokemon like Volcanion to be legendaries, and it took the fanbase longer to get around to accepting the "Mythical" classification that is used by The Pokemon Company.
