Haven't been reading the thread but did they patch out the duplication glitch?

they patched out the ability to duplicate the legendary pokemon. If you already have duplicates of the legendary you can keep doing the dupe glitch however it locks you out of online activity until you delete the cloned legendary out of your party so you have to do all your duping in one session if you want to do any online activity. You can get one session for every duped legendary.

Duplicating the cover legendary was the method behind item duping. You make them hold the item you want to dupe.

Does anyone know if we can trade eggs? I got a charmander of my own and want to make bunch of eggs with it to pass them out to others. It's in a Moon ball so some folks may not be into that

the item duplication glitch works by duping the item held by the duped legendary so if you don't have one you can't do the other.

If you want to dupe, your only option is to basically delete the game, and start over with your switch in airplane mode the whole time.

Yes, you can trade eggs.

I don't know if charmander eggs are tradeable.

I think Charmanders that are bred are tradable. I just got one from Surprise Trade.

I find it amusing that both BDSP and SV had duplication exploits enabled by the fact that the devs dont know how to code basic menus >_>

Yes and no.

The odds of a pokemon being shiny are the same as they always have been (as of gen 5), 1/4096

However, since you're seeing multiple pokemon spawn at once, and constantly spawn in new pokemon, you'll roll the dice more frequently. This doesn't boost your odds, mathematically speaking, but it does make the process of finding a shiny faster.

Yea I think most people will run into 1-2 shinies in a casual run of the story.

Later on you can start shiny hunting with outbreaks and meal powers from picnics.

How did everyone and their mother find a shiny lechonk and yet I, professional Pig type trainer, never have? I'm furious. My friend found one in the first two days the game was out so he's dead to me. But also I love my regular oinkologne and will never replace him or take him off my team anyway.

Pawmot is slept on. Iron Fist with it's movepool makes it a strong little fucker. I still haven't found a shiny one tho! I don't understand what I'm doing wrong

I have violet and got a pawmi while shiny hunting electric types in the post game area. Got my shiny iron thorns and pawmi showed up. No iron hands yet.

Iron thorns? So i should hunt for it in area zero. Maybe I'll go do it in that cave

Scale it down to fit whatever point in the game my gym is. As far as I'm aware, those are all of the pig families. Also I'd have an alolan meowth wearing a pig hat, but he doesn't fight. He's just my other favorite so he hangs out with me. :|

My birds only playthrough is going well so far. After swapping out Flamigo and Quaxwell for Hawlucha and Espathra, this is my team:

I've beaten 4 gym leaders, 3 titans, and 3 star bases so far. I actually skipped Iono to take on Kofu and Larry first, and now that my team is 15 levels above hers, I finally came back to face her and her scary Electric-types. Also, the game gave me another random shiny for some godforsaken reason:

I can't trade online right now because I didn't update my game (I still want to use the duplication glitch a bit more first) but if you still haven't found a shiny piggy by the time I eventually update and can trade again, I'll trade you my shiny Lechonk.

Eh no worries lol. If I decide I really need one, I'll just threaten my friend or something. I actually worry about having to pick which oinkologne to keep in my party if I do get a shiny. I figure I'll let fate decide when it is that I need to make that choice.

I noticed all the Japanese players were using Sylveon w/ calm mind, draining kiss, and moonblast against 'zard. I kept dying with Azumarill and I figure the Japanese players know what they're doing.

So I decided to make a Sylveon of my own. Luckily there's a fairy tera-type you can encounter by the lighthouse to the north for an easy setup. Plus it already has 3 IVs, so I only needed a modest mint and hyper train sp. atk.

I just slap on a covert cloak for that lol. Draining kiss heals just fine then. No need to even cheer. Just use a calm mind and kiss until you can terrastalize. Didn't faint in two raids now, when with Azu I had to use an ability shield to stop zard from cancelling huge power and kept getting burned or confused.

Corviknight has hard counter typing against Tinkaton so it would be impressive if you won.

If you havent named your Tinkaton after Hilda from Fire Emblem then youre doing it wrong.

It's made of steel. It should do double damage against types weak to steel.

I mean pokedex entries don't always equate to gameplay stuff. Like how hitmonchan punches faster than a bullet train but a jump kick from hitmonlee outdamaged anything the former could do until like... Gen 5?

My biggest takeaway from my birds only playthrough so far might be my new appreciation for Oricorio. This thing has been so fun to use.

It has 4 different forms with different primary types, and the nectars used to change its form are available (after you have 3 badges) in the Chansey Supply shops for dirt cheap. Its signature move Revelation Dance changes its type to match its primary type, whether it's the primary type given to it by its form or its Tera type after Terastallizing. I caught mine in its Electric/Flying form and it has an Electric Tera type, so even if I have it in one of its other forms, it can Terastallize to Electric and Revelation Dance will change type along with it. Then on top of that, it can learn Quiver Dance, one of the best boosting moves in the game, and it can Baton Pass those boosts to one of my other special attackers. So even if Oricorio isn't the one wrecking my opponents, it'll make sure that Kilowattrel, Pelipper, or Espathra get the job done. It's easily been the star of my team in this run. Plus...

I mentioned that I caught mine in its Electric form (second pic) but I like the Ghost form (last pic) the most and that's the form I've mostly been using it in throughout the game. The Fire and Psychic forms have been useful here and there too. Between its cuteness and how much fun I've had with it in this playthrough, it jumped really high up my list of favorite Pokemon.

The Electric and Ghost forms are really close for me. I would probably be using Oricorio's Electric form more often if Kilowattrel didn't exist, but Kilowattrel does exist and is just too good to pass up thanks to its stats and Volt Absorb.

What was your bird team? I wonder how much overlap we have. Mine is Oricorio, Kilowattrel, Pelipper, Espathra, Corviknight, and Hawlucha. I might swap out Pelipper for Iron Bundle once I get down to Area Zero for the final story, not sure yet.

In the process of creating a perfect battle ready version of every bird in the game. Right now I only have one, a shiny Braviary. I love your team, but with Quaquavel, wouldnt make sense to use Hawlucha. Also Coviknight I love but I used him last gen. Tried to switch it up. Have only used Altaria and Taloneflame before but has been many years since I used them in single player. Only bird I cant stand in Espathra. Man that thing is weird lookin.

I was using Quaxly/Quaxwell early on in the game, but he wasn't pulling his weight so I ditched him when I caught Espathra. Plus, Quaquaval's types overlap with Pelipper and Hawlucha, who I like better, and I needed Hawlucha because he's the only bird who can learn False Swipe.

Nice team. Talonflame and Bombirdier are two that I also considered using (Fletchling/Fletchinder was even on my team for a little bit early on) but I admit that Altaria and Eiscue totally slipped my mind when I was thinking about other options.

I like it. I think it looks weird too, but the fun kind of weird. It's like Cleopatra and Lady Gaga tried to do a fusion dance, but an ostrich walked in the middle at the last second and fucked everything up.

I spent like 4 days clearing 5 and 6 star raids on my own(only a couple 6 got cleared though) and only managed 2 herbs that whole time. Did 3 last night and got 3. So, I've got enough for 2 samiches finally. Just gotta decide what I want to hunt. No outbreak I'm interested in today.
