They sometimes appear in the bidding area and as low single digit percent chance prizes in the school tournaments. A single item prize per though so barring a good single mon and turbo controller to grind overnight, you won't likely see one anytime soon.

I think I'll just wait for one day finding a friendly injector who'll edit the pokeball into a heavy one rather than play RNG with the bidder area and especially not the school tournament, I don't hate it but it runs long and running that long for that small a chance would suck, especially even more because after that not only would I need the luck to encounter another shiny iron valiant but also the luck to be able to catch it in a Iron Ball which would be ineffective on it since it's not a very heavy pokemon at all, it's only 77.2 lbs.35.0 kg the bare minimum for a heavy ball to be effective is 440.9 lbs. (200.0 kg) 661.2 lbs. (299.9 kg)

But it's alright, Ultra Ball works well,too. Makes it special among the rest of my team

30-40 seems fine. At 3 per 5 star plus random drops that's only about 10 raids which isn't too bad. But like... today I had one fire raid (4*) and one water raid (3*) and the rest are almost entirely one of these 3 types: rock, poison, flying. Followed by 2 fairy, 2 normal, and 2 steel. Wanna guess what types of shards I have the most of? Those 6, out of 18 types.

I really hope the DLC when it comes does things like being able to pick up herbs and larger quantities of shards off the ground. I don't know if it' my connection or the game's issues but I always struggle to get into raids it wasn't like this back in sword/shield for dynamax raids

Herbs are cheap and plentiful from raids but without them I'd be lacking. And it's not just you, they're nowhere near as optimized as last gen.

I've been soloing 5 star raids for like 3-4 days now and haven't gotten a single herb. >.<

Someone posted a video before of how to do it solo. Basically get a Gholdengo with metal beam, recover, metal sound, and nasty plot. Just jetal sound 3 times, and nasty plot 3 times then beam it to death. Works pretty well. Sometimes they'll simply straight up faint after just the metal sounds and 1 beam.
Though I still struggle occasionally, so 6 stars might be a bit tough for me when I get them unlocked.

Look at the list of what ones have the best odds of dropping them, like a dozen have a chance of dropping any of them so the drop rates with them goes up a lot.

Also Maushold built to optimize Population Bomb can melt high level raids apparently

twice now my raids have frozen on me this is horrible

The Gholdengo method works super well most of the time but may struggle against specific Pokemon...

Fought an Armarouge yesterday who's Armor Cannon just kept one-shotting him so I couldn't set up anything...

So far I just maxed out the second Miraidon's EVs for raid battles. I'm still working on getting all 999 coins for Gholdengo.

Also for some reason I found Iron Valiant before Iron Thorns.

When the next Pokemon Generations thing rolls around and it's Gen 9's turn what do you think they'll focus on for their 3 episodes?

There are some good Pokemon that can solo 5-6 star raids pretty easily. Generally, a Pokemon that can solo those raids will have a strong STAB attack (preferably with its Tera type matching that attack), a way to boost its damage output (by raising its own attacking stat or/and lowering the defensive stat of the raid Pokemon), and a way to heal itself. Some examples include:

* Gholdengo with Nasty Plot (or/and Metal Sound), Recover, and a STAB move (the video I posted last topic for it uses Steel Beam, but you can also use Make It Rain, Shadow Ball, and sometimes Hex if you feel like the recoil damage is too much)

* Iron Hands with Drain Punch and Belly Drum (stronger STAB moves like Close Combat and Wild Charge could work too but are a bit riskier)

* Koraidon with Collision Course, Drain Punch, and Swords Dance (and/or Screech)

* Miraidon with Electro Drift, Parabolic Charge, and Metal Sound

* Skeledirge with Torch Song and Slack Off

For all of them, max out their HP and their main attacking stat, because the speed stat doesn't matter at all in raid battles. I've been using Gholdengo, and I'm going to set up Iron Hands and Miraidon next. There are others that can work for this too, but those five are really good ones I know off the top of my head.

The only way it could have gone better is if the Iron Hands had a Fighting Tera type (or if I got a second one with that Tera type on the way out of the cave, but I wanted to try for Iron Valiant with the remaining time I had left on the sandwich boosts) and I might make another sandwich and go for a second one that does have that Tera type.

Catching Spiritomb is a goddamn meme. Fucking Memento. >_> Had to get a pokemon with taunt just to make sure it didn't kill itself. Idk if it's really rare or a fixed spawn but I've only seen it in the ruins on the south side of the ice mountain.

Also saw a bunch of Gastly and Haunter dancing in a circle. That was cute

I've had two wild tera pokemon with ghost tera types kill themselves with Curse. It bypasses the tera break buffer. ._.

Okay you know what? Fuck this game. I finally run around getting 399 pokemon and all that's left is fucking goodra. It's one of those three stage dragons so I figure "Okay level it up to 60 or whatever and it'll evolve." I'm up over 65 and I see one of the teachers with one at lv 65 so I finally look it up and it evolves at 50, but only in the rain. "Oh cool, it knows Rain Dance, that makes sense." I feed it candies until it almost levels up. Get into a fight, Rain Dance, level up, nothing fucking happens. Look it up in more detail, oh, artificial rain doesn't count. Jeez, I'm sorry Rain Dance isn't good enough for you, you special snowflake idiot dragon. Now I set off to find some natural rain for this shithead. I do a lap around the whole fucking continent and there is no rain and no goodra raids. All there is to be found is Jack and Shit.

Why would they make this so fucking tedious? Not only is the method of evolution super specific and annoying as hell, but it isn't even hinted in the game. Bring back the professor calls where you can just ask how to evolve these motherfuckers. Who's gonna independently discover how to evolve bisharp? Or finizen? Nobody.

I had to get it from a 5* raid, but at least if you see rain you can access your box anywhere. You'll have enough exp items from raids by now, etc.

Eh I got a friend who already offered me his if I actually give up, but thanks for the offer. I do indeed have more exp items than I need, so once I stop seething about evolution and raids and game crashes, I'll get back to it lol.

GameFreak really needs to fix these stupid raids.

Went ahead and set up an adamant belly drum Azumarill for the Charizard raid thats coming. If it turns out to be a bad pick for whatever reason, Ive got enough money and experience candy leftover to train another one for it. >_>

If it runs sunny day or anything like it then it'll be a bad choice. I'm assuming the best bet will just be finding a group of 3 others to all do something like the current Purrserker strategy. If everyone launches an attack at once then the boss can't respond, etc.

Just have someone with rain dance. I have a friend whos going to have an azumarill in the charizard raid party. And somebody in the group know rain dance, which should help. Or some move. They apparently have prepared for most things, I think

I was all ready to start catching a bunch of Tansemaus when I complete the Pokedex to get the Three Family Maushold from one of them. Then I get one via a Raid. I love it when stuff like that happens.

I'll still have to do it with Dundunsparce, but that's for later.

Tandemaus has a 4% chance of evolving into the three family form.

Used a fire encounter buff to try and find numel in the desert. Found a shiny Larvesta instead. Noice.

...never found Numel. Looked it up and turns out Serebii lied when they said they were in the adado desert, ended up finding them somewhere else lol
