PrivateBiscuit1 05/08/23 6:01:40 PM #358:	She-Hulk has some good stuff in it and I love Tatiana Maslany, but overall it's just filled with some of the worst directing in the MCU with embarrassingly bad action sequences and terrible editing, and the overarching plot kinda sucks. It felt like there was very little quality control in it. Sometimes it felt like they nailed it, sometimes they felt like they missed the mark entirely with the tone of the show and what She-Hulk is, and I still don't have a sense they got to where they needed to for the character either. And man, did the show just drag with the plot lines of her personal life and trying to find a boyfriend for what seemed like it went entirely too long. I just could not care about her struggles with her love life since they went on and on. And the fact there was no real villain or anything hurts too, and then it just turns into that disaster in the last episode where they felt like they were a lot more clever than they actually were. As a whole the show just doesn't feel good, and it feels like a real misstep where if they had more quality control it could have been a lot better than it was. --- I stream sometimes. All the Disney plus shows seem to be playing around with different genres (sitcom / hard sci-fi/ animation / young adult / parody). In the legendarily bad Spider-Man run right now, they randomly killed Ms. Marvel who was barely involved in the book at all. Just the most minor character. It's looking like she'll be revived by the X-Men and they'll do some voodoo to make her a mutant instead of an Inhuman. Her powers will probably end up more like the MCU because that's how comics do. --- I stream sometimes. lordjers 05/17/23 10:17:17 PM #395:	colliding posted... yeah this is completely wrong. first one is great, second one is good for what they were aiming for (basically a cheesy action romcom). This one was straight garbo that took previously interesting characters and made them boring. The point about this not having an arc is dead on. Things just happen in this movie because they remind us of things that happened in other movies. Like I could not have given less of a ** about any of the quantum realm people. First two Ant-Mans were pretty middle of the road no excitement whatsoever films, and the 2nd one was specially bad. I can see how someone that liked those wasn't too much into the 3rd one cause it was so different, including a ninja retcon of the quantum realm. Quantumania also dialed down a lot of the humor, but what little was there actually landed, as opposed to the heist team humor of the others. The villains? First one had a boring hero but evil motif with the twist that he was kind of a loser, and Ghost I just wish they had stayed with the source material. Kang has been his most interesting villain yet, but I do reckon that ~~MODOK~~ was all sorts of terrible. --- Last finished: Xevious (ARC+7800 (Intermediate)) , Super Xevious: GAMP no Nazo (ARC+NES), Threshold (2600), Sub Scan (2600), Stargunner (2600). <cite>lordjers posted [p:973541157] in MCU Genera...
