Yeah if you ever see that combo just save yourself 10 minutes and retreat before they play whatever card they're going to play. Gambit would have also destroyed my cards 256 times so that's another finisher instead of Ironheart.

Just started playing, pretty fun but not deep yet. Still just playing my cards and not reacting much to opponent.

Found a combo that i thought was fun though. I played my JJ on turn 5 as 3rd in a lane, with Antman. Then on turn 6 I moved my NC in there, which got Antman's buff and still let JJ get a buff.

unlocking Iceman, Shang-Chi and Leech is really making my "fuck you" deck come into its own

results in low-total matches because most of my cards aren't very strong but are all specifically chosen to fuck over my opponent's plans

I feeling I can't make decks like that because my rng is awful in this game.

Like I Iceman would hit a card they weren't going to play anyway.

Got my first 3 tier 3 cards today

Rhino - Seems potentially useful but not very exciting. Basically pure terrain control. I'd probably rather just gamble with Scarlet Witch if I'm gonna use him though. If he cost 2 like Scarlet Witch or had 4 power he'd seem better.

Morbius - Apocalypse discard wants to come back it seems. I did want this back then. I may run it back. Seems good in a deck for him.

Leader - He's neat. I've played him before with random cards. Not really sure how to build a deck for him. He basically lets you hold a lead if you leave slots open but yeah.

I've run Leader in some Sandman decks. He's pretty good in any deck where you have the option of winning a lane early with Storm or Prof X. As long as you've got the board space and you're down by 3 or less on a lane he's pretty much a guaranteed win.

There's a few cards that can still screw you over like Devil Dino and Mysterio but Leader is good because his played winrate is probably like 95%. You're either going to play him and win or retreat on turn 6.

That makes more sense that I've seen so many Morbius. I thought the cutoff was 450.

But yeah I guess I could run Leader when I've locked a lane. Then he just wins. Usually. Unless they play an on reveal that helps me a lot less than them. Feel like he might be good with a deck that uses Vision turn 5 who can support your lane where your opponent is weakest (which would have synergy with storm too) to give you +11 (vision + leader) to the opponent's weaker lane.

Anyone know what pool taskmaster is? Just got her from an agent 13 draw and that is a good card.

I've been running him a lot + Venom lately because of the featured location. Venom eats the whole location, then doubles. Taskmaster copies the doubled Venom. Easily get a 50 Venom and 50 Taskmaster.

Yea I had a Heimdal and vulture combo with something else and my task master on turn 6(had the location that reduces 6 cost) and ended up dropping taskmaster for 32.

I think Shang Chi is my least favorite card in the game. The amount of games I've lost to a random Shang Chi in a deck that makes no sense is higher than any other card. Or someone just snaps on turn 6 and I have to respect Shang Chi whether they have it or not. Maybe I should start running Armor just to counter that.

I love Shang specifically for that reason lol

FINALLY

Ok so now let's talk about the next 3 actual tier 3 cards I got

Crystal - I played her a few times and even when her ability is useful I lose. Not seeing a lot of value to her. Not sure why she can't just reshuffle your hand regardless of which lane she's in-- dropping a 4 power turn 4 is enough of a drawback isn't it?

Mystique - She's really cool. Not sure what I'll use her on but I'm sure I can think of something that doesn't involve duplicating Onslaught.

Moon Knight - Actual hard to come by Apocalypse deck tech, not fake hard to come by like Morbius. Haven't had a lot of success since he's been added to the deck but it's probably because I need to work on the base that doesn't involve discarding-- he's disruptive no doubt.

So I've been playing my booster deck(the deck I made specifically for boosting whatever cards are currently lowest in my collection) and I have Storm and Prof X and man have they caused some early retreats from the opponents who snapped early lol

Okay I FINALLY got some good Pool 3 cards

Mysterio and The Hood, who both work in a destroy archetype

Should I be running bad decks with random low-rarity cards just to upgrade them? It seems like by running my more synergistic decks Im losing out on upgrading cards because the ones in those decks have already been upgraded a couple times

Yeah, at least you should try to upgrade all your unupgradsd cards to Frame Breaks, because its more credit efficient to make that upgrade.

I do it once I've acquired enough credits to upgrade a bunch of low level cards and usually retreat on 6 if I don't feel strongly about a possible win. Most of the time I still squeeze out a win running decks that make no sense.

I have a deck that has 9 coherent cards and then a revolving door of cards to frame break upgrade for the last 3 slots. Works well enough.

So far I was going to run:

1: Elektra, Iceman, Korg
2: Scorpion, Scarlet Witch
3: Storm, Cosmo, Killmonger
4: Shang Chi, Enchantress
5: Hobgoblin, Leech

Other contenders are Professor X, Sandman, Armor, or Spider-Woman. Any thoughts/ideas/etc?

That's pretty similar to what I have going now

2: Scorpion, Scarlet Witch
3: Morph, Storm
4: Shang Chi
5: Spider-Man, Hobgoblin, Leech
6: Odin

My favorite thing to do right now is Hobgoblin into Shuri's lab. Bonus points if they snapped early.

Other disrupt cards you can look forward to getting in pool 3: Viper, Black Widow, Green Goblin, Daredevil (kinda).

so the "make things miserable for my opponent" deck that I mostly made as a joke has unintentionally become probably my most successful deck

I was actually going to post that my disruptor deck is absolutely doing a great job so far and has been more reliable than my destroy deck. Lol

Just being able to drop Storm somewhere causes them to immediately panic and load up that spot with a valuable card or two while I mostly just put a low level card or focus on another area.

The biggest problem with disruptor decks is just how slow they climb I think. You rarely 8 cube wins in my experience.

I've noticed that. The best decks I have are a grind and only get 1-2 cubes a match. My more swingy ones can win me 8 but I often lose 4 too. I'm not sure which is better.

Woah you can double snap. I won a couple double snaps pretty easily, not sure what those players were thinking. But I also had a bunch of players retreating on turn 5 when there's no snap.

I totally get it now, the game is pot limit texas hold em. You have "value" snaps where you have to convince the opponent to stay, then punish them. I imagine as you go against better players, there's bluff snapping as well.

Also Nexus is insane. I had an iron man hulk combo on mine so it was ok.

dont know what your rank is but there are definitely bots early on so some of the more confusing plays/snaps are likely from that

I don't know if there's depth in the poker element actually. In poker it's profitable to go all in when you have over 50% chance of winning, but here you can be well over 50% at the beginning of the game just by having decent deck synergy (whereas in poker there is 0 skill involved in your card selection). Add in any non-zero chance of opponent retreat and it becomes easy to snap in any situation. Unless you're completely losing due to a terrible draw or something.

I would love a mode where they have prefab decks that you are given randomly at the start of the match, and you have to play those. They would test the decks our rigorously to make sure they are relatively even in power, so it's only the player's strategy that matters. Players would learn the meta of the decks over the course of the season and there would be much deeper poker mechanics. But then you'd lose the whole monetization of the game. And I'm guessing people like the deck building aspect much more than the poker aspect.

Deck building has always been a bit of a barrier to trading card games - Where Snap shines is by having really small decks, so casual players are able to build their own decks and understand the synergy without having to worry about 30+ cards.

yeah my current deck isnt amazing (more wins than losses but still not great) but Im ranking up very easily because my snapping strategy is so simple. My game plan revolves around drawing Jubilee by turn 4, if I dont get her I retreat and lose at most two cubes (usually just one though) and if I do get her I snap and almost always win, getting 4 or possibly 8 cubes each time.

The timing of the snap is important to bait your opponent into either idling a turn to double the cube reward or playing the game out to double the cube reward again.

It's not really a strict bluffing technique in a poker sense but there is strategy.

I've considered trying to take out Leech for something smaller but Leech has pulled through really well for me at times so idk

Leech is really good to just ruin the last turn plans they're clearly setting up.
