It's a pretty generational thing. Almost no one under 30 even cares baseball exists to begin with.

Breaking the AL record is pretty neat.

It's more than just that. I'd say there's a decent split among baseball people in general.

But in 30 years when most of the super hardcore people are gone and most of what baseball has left is passive casuals, we'll see Bonds and his entire generation get some committee putting them into the HoF, which will retrospectively knock this achievement from the pedestal it's being put on at the moment.

And frankly it's all the old fogies that have been killing baseball for decades but I think they're slowly running out of them.

I don't think juicing is nearly as useful for a pitcher. Besides that, pitchers throw harder now than ever before, so he's doing it against tougher competition.

Homers may be fun but they were ill gotten, I have no issue with anyone who counts judge's as the legitimate all-time record, regardless of what MLB itself recognizes. If people cheating saved baseball then baseball deserved to die instead.

Everyone was cheating and nobody else hit 73 (Bonds could've hit 100 that year if everyone wasn't terrified to pitch to him)

you can come up with all sorts of reasons to discredit most baseball records but that version of Bonds was the best player I've ever seen

Yeah Super Bonds was a God. He had a OBP of .600 Absolutely insane.

Not counting cheaters, that puts Judge first overall with amount of home runs hit in a season.

The six in front of him all happened from 98-00 and from three very juiced guys.

The reason there aren't roided up games anymore is the health risks. Only nerds care about purity of the sport or whatever.

It's a shame that it feels like his walk rate like tripling once he got to 60 causing him to get a lot less opportunities causing the pressure to mount as we ran out of games may have caused him to lose the Triple Crown.

idk maybe he'd go on a hitting slump naturally but it definitely seemed like he was getting increasingly anxious and aggressive swinging at pitches the last few games.

Bonds was the greatest baseball player of all time and he spent the entire time being harangued for it because he wasnt a soft spoken dude.

I don't think Bonds is a particularly likable dude, but he also doesn't care if you like him, so I respect that.

Pujols should have gotten to 800. Sucks when injuries derail a career. Obviously hes still a first ballot HOFer but he could have had all the records.

Lebron did the decision. Also, he is in a rare group of super stars that has openly said they think they are the greatest before being crowned as such.

I have never liked Lebron for reasons pointed out in the above post and I don't even watch basketball.

Bonds was kinda just a jackass who knew he was and just didn't give a damn. A lot of people just didn't like his personality.

Honestly would like to see baseball return to the deadball era when people swung the bat downward, and everything was tactical, instead of just swinging for the fences.

the pitch clock and eliminating the shift are two things that will make baseball immensely more watchable next season

They didn't give everyone drugs they just didn't care for the first like decade because it was making the game more popular

Eliminating the shift is lame.

the shift was a terrible idea when only a handful of teams were doing it for a handful of players

it's intolerable now that every team does it for every player
