who's ready to see Thor's uncensored butt

I didn't know if I should mention this here, but one of the complaints about Thor Love and Thunder that seems to be going around involve the notion of Thor suffering from "male fragility." i was really surprised by these so-called critics taking umbrage with strong female characters "upstaging" men but maybe I shouldn't be considering that these people said the same thing about Poe in the Last Jedi.

It really seems like fandoms across the board are viewing every moment of weakness by male characters as wokeness.

To which I respond... everything except episode 5 basically. I don't think anything really worked in Moon Knight, which is a shame, because I really like the Warren Ellis run and was glad to see "Mr.Knight" incorporated. I found it incredibly cheesy, but even worse, incredibly boring. Ethan Hawke was awful. Episode 5 is good, but only because it tonally and stylistically feels completely different from the other episodes. Oscar Isaac's acting is good but the character itself is like a less interesting Venom

No but TBH I don't think those "fandoms" actually care about the franchises in question so much as advancing their political agendas. They're literally regurgitating right-wing talking points regarding mocking Disney over Lightyear's failure due to a lesbian couple prominently being featured in the movie (which was only known ahead of time due to Pixar employees stating that they had to cut LGBT content on multiple occasions earlier in response to Bob Chapek saying he preferred if Disney inspired political change through its content rather than taking direct action or something, and not shown in any advertising), so their right-wing agenda is becoming increasingly blatant if it wasn't already.

For something more topical, it's pretty rich people apparently seem to be complaining about Thor being subject to "female gaze" as if male characters in the MCU haven't been subjected to plenty of shirtless scenes (not that I mind in any case) while the ladies mostly make do with skintight costumes at best. More proof of my point above that I don't think these "fans" actually care about the MCU at the very least if not with entertainment in general. Which makes their claims that SJWs don't actually consume media come off as pure self-projection.

i dont really get what was going on with the magic stuff there... why did that veil open, why was it skeletonizing people, how did the one lady send powers to Kamran... she didnt even have powers. she like.... absorbed the veil and magically sent it and knew how to do that somehow? how would she know that was a possibility even?

apparently Aishas actress is extremely famous in Pakistan, so maybe this was just a nice little treat for the Pakistani audiencr

I really don't understand how this Ms. Marvel script got greenlit and wasn't streamlined in some way. I cannot understand how the entirety of the plot in Pakistan wasn't resolved in one episode. This needed a much tighter script, and a lot of the dialogue in the show needed sprucing up too (the fight between Kamala and Red Dagger as a for instance).

I wish this was so much better, but it's just not. I mentioned my girlfriend is Indian, and she's absolutely loving the show and is a bit surprised I just don't like it very much. It's clear that the cultural aspect is the best part, but nothing else really seems to match up with that and I find myself questioning why something is happening more than I am just enjoying the show.

In particular, my girlfriend has really been interested in the Partition stuff since it's such a big deal to India/Pakistan culture and she talked to me a lot more about it. But I just don't think it's been integrated into this show well at all. I haven't seen the newest episode so that may change, but it seems like such an unnecessary diversion to simply include something so significant to their culture. But I just got left on the cliffhanger of the last episode where she's in the middle of it and I'm just like... why are we here and why is this the end of the episode and why aren't we back with all of the characters we got to know in the first three episodes?

Like we wasted a few minutes sitting by a campfire and eating in that episode with nothing of any significance happening. How was this not cut from the episode?

yeah this was killing me, I just had no reason at all to care for it... Aisha met someone and started a family... I mean yeah? We know that by the fact of Kamala's family existing, what of it? Then the plot of Najma finding her, Aisha going into hiding, winding up killing her... it's all just so cliched and predictable, or just plain derivable from what we already knew. There's literally nothing interesting about this story and just didn't gain anything from it.

and that's the half of the ep I've actually seen praise for, and then there's the other half that just throws away everything the show has been doing. Like this could've been the finale, a shitty one sure, but it feels like the story just ended here. Now we have to just jump back to NJ and quickly scavenge up a new plot to close off on. I get comments I see saying Clandestines sucked anyways, but just abruptly cutting off their story like this is insanity and it's not like a quick final episode swap back to DoDC is any good at all, the show's failed to build them up into anything good either.

I've been loving the show to start with but it's just gone completely downhill and now this episode in particular is such a massive drop, just before the finale now which I can't imagine being any good because there's just nothing that's built up to it. Like at best I can get excited for Kamala being in top-form and suited up with her final outfit but even that's insane because what the hell time does she have to casually put all the different pieces of it together with the vest/scarf/necklace before flying back to the mess waiting for her in NJ?

Seems pretty on point for people in general.

But this episode totally cemented that Kamala actually is Inhuman, right? Like those were totally Terrigen cocoons. Also I'm kinda glad the Clandestines are done with, they were lame, and hopefully there will be something more interesting in the last episode. I'll agree that if it's just DoDC than it'll probably also be lame, but it hasn't happened yet so I'll stay somewhat optimistic. I also liked the family stuff in the present, with her mom being more accepting of her now.

it cemented that we're at least adapting Inhumans in some manner... how much so / how familiar still remains to be seen but that was 100% definitely at the very least *inspired* by terrigenesis/inhumans. Unfortunately I can't really expect the finale to clear this up any further though what with the Clandestines/Noor part of the plot just dying today.

One theory I actually liked from New Rockstars (an absolute rarity from their usual theories, from MT no less) was the light wave stuff possibly being adapted as the "source" for terrigen mist kinda technology. Playing off a bit with how the MCU kinda combines magic and technology, so the Kree could've discovered this Noor light, experimented with it, and created all sorts of tech around it including the bangles and possible even terrigen crystals sourced from this extra-dimensional light.

they should have reduced the DODC stuff to a background thing, fleshed out the Pakistan plot more, and just ended the series with the conclusion of that plot?

Just focusing on either one of those plots would've helped a lot but I think Pakistan/Clandestines would've been better suited for a season two to explore. First season could've just been about becoming a low-level teenage superhero in New Jersey then ended with a tease of her deeper background to explore next time.

it's kinda annoying to start with a global destruction plot for a teen supe, contrast that with Homecoming that was about a father's black market alien weapon sales to provide for his family

I guess it would be hard though to setup a season 2 Clandestines plot since this is already supposed to be going directly into The Marvels

Cox & D'Onofrio returning together in Echo

saw love and thunder last night, i enjoyed it. Bale was probably my favorite part. Movie felt a tad rushed at parts, I wonder if covid is a reason why the past 2 marvel films were a bit shorter. Thought the dynamic between Thor and Jane was great as well.

that scene from Hawkeye of him getting shot is right out of the comics and he survived there but was blinded for a while

so hell probably have some eye situation now too, but I felt pretty confident he wasnt dead.

For the spoiler part: the thing that worried me most about Bullseye possibly not returning is the actor (Wilson Bethel) being committed to some other project. Looks like he's not filming anything right now, but he's main cast in the tv show "All Rise" which was cancelled after two seasons and picked up for a 3rd by the Oprah network, 3rd season airing right now, TBD if it gets cancelled again or even if picked up for a 4th, he could leave the show or schedule around things... I guess there's also a possibility Bullseye isn't a full-season villain but just pops in for a few eps and at the end, like a Season 2 Kingpin, so could provide more scheduling room.

Remember after episode 3 I said if the quality kept up this could be my favorite MCU show?

The quality has not kept up.

Listen if they get another actor who plays Bullseye that rocks, I'm on board. I have just wanted a straight Bullseye in live action that's great for a while. He's always been my favorite comic book villain and the Daredevil TV show was so close to everything I wanted.

watched the new Ms. Marvel

at this point I'm just watching for completionist sake because this show just kinda gets progressively worse. The important parts are super rushed, and the parts we get feel irrelevant. Like choose a thing to focus on and focus on it. The Clandestine story started abruptly, ended abruptly, had basically nothing happen beyond creating and then destroying a weird magic portal that was never accurately explained.

MoogleKupo basically already went into it but this shit made no sense and made no effort to clarify things. Why did the woman stabbing the bracelet create the veil. Why did she want the veil? Why does Kamala think the veil will destroy everything? Why did the immortal evil woman suddenly self-sacrifice, just because Kamala says she has a son? Her motivations were already based on like nothing, and then they're broken for nothing. Why did her self-sacrifice destroy the veil? She didn't really do anything, just sorta walked into it, same as the other one had done. It's all just absurd at this point, like things are just happening to happen.

I had high hopes going in (and I'm someone who still really enjoyed Captain Marvel) but man this really is the worst MCU show

Yeah, Ms. Marvel is just a terrible show. Even my girlfriend turned the corner on it and she was pretty into it until Kamala ends up being the one to save her grandmother. And then she was gone when the Clandestine leader just abruptly changed her mind and sacrificed herself to stop the poorly described McGuffin.

I don't get how they screwed this one up so much. I'm basically just holding out hope that Captain Marvel is portrayed well in this to not call it a total wash.

it's hilarious plotting out the Clandestines story keeping in mind they span 3 episodes: introduces as friends, start a wedding massacre, get arrested, break out, attack Kamala in a secret Pakistan hideout, die

I was absolutely thrilled with the first two eps but by the end I gotta say this is easily the worst D+ MCU. I still like Kamala though so I'm just hoping the finale can at least give me a mindless good time watching her out in full force and suited up.

My favorite part was when they said "Hey please help us go home. You're so great, we love you!" And then the son goes "Hey, she says she is worried it's dangerous and wants to think things over." "WELL THEN LET'S JUST FUCKING KILL HER. WE'RE DONE WAITING!"

Why were you deceptive for like no time at all only to drop it suddenly? She doesn't even tell you NO. She dead ass tells you she wants to do this safely and to hold up. These people went aggro over a TEXT MESSAGE. If you're going to just decide to kill her on a whim, why didn't you just do it then?

How did nobody give a once over on this script and see the issues here?
