Last topic was very active! In a close match, DK triumphed over Bowser, 14-10, through the power of Jungle Beat feats and protagonist status. Today we have a very meme-ish match, in which DK must confront the impossible-to-defeat Air Man. Can he use the Time Barrage glitch to win against Mega Man 2's deadliest robot?

If Air Mans tornados can block Mega Buster shots, they can certainly block the Coconut Gun. DK wont shoot him, and its not gonna hurt

Is there anyway for DK to take advantage of Air Mans weakness to leaves?

Can DK do more damage than Mega Man? Otherwise, I'm thinking he runs out of steam before he can finish him off.

Given airman's pattern, I'm pretty sure I can say yes, dk would have that chance. In Airman's boss chamber, he blows three rounds of tornadoes before jumping to the other corner, where MegaMan would be due to the air. Airman would certainly be vulnerable to a good punch if Donkey Kong can position himself where Airman would land, and given his AI includes jumping towards his target, I don't give Airman much of a chance here.

Since most of these robots are built for projectile fighting, I kind of feel like they would be more vulnerable to physical attacks. He's built to withstand Mega Man's attacks, but a strong up-close punch would be more damaging.

I also don't see why DK couldn't do the same dodging pattern that Mega Man can do, and attack during the vulnerable parts since Air Man always moves in predictable ways.

Donkey Kong can roll off a ledge and jump in mid-air, so AIr Man's stage is cake, but Air Man's arena has no pits so it's pretty useless in the fight. Definitely Air Man's win

Doesn't need to because Mega didn't have the charged shot in MM2 and DK's punch is definitely stronger than lemons.

Otherwise, based on his match against K Rool in DK64's boxing ring, Donkey Kong weighs 800 pounds. How much blow does Air Man have compared to that? Because if he can just blow DK away the whole time... yeah DK doesn't have anything to stop that other than trying to run out of the jet stream.

I imagine Mega Man is pretty heavy too

DK hasn't encountered and defeated Wood Man, so he can't win this one.

Diddy and Dixie encounter wind in a few stages in DKC2, and they're affected by it but can maneuver. Not sure how Air Man stacks up to wind like that.

Throwing banana peels isn't really a DK thing outside of Mario Kart.

Looking it up, Mega Man is 230 pounds.

DK's been shown to use bananas like boomerangs to avoid obstacles pretty effectively (Mario + Rabbids, Mario Power Tennis).

That plus being more than three times heavier than Mega Man has me leaning DK. Air Man's only real answer is beating DK before he gets close, and DK can likely slow that and deal with the tornado spam better than Mega Man, in both how much he gets blown around and general athleticism.

DK could probably also beat Heat Man's stage by rolling and jumping in the air, thus making him less desperate to get Item-2.

DK's like 4x as massive as Mega Man so he has more trouble navigating the tornado openings than Mega Man does. He eats tons of damage trying to get in.

And I'm not sure he can tank damage as well as a robot.

This was, TBH, my biggest concern.

DK is 7'10'', 6'1'' on his knuckles. Mega Man is 4'4''. Not even twice as big (and, while likely wider, not by a horrible amount).

Durability is a fair concern (off the top of my head, his best showings are surviving partial orbital re-entry in Returns, getting beat up and shot three times by K Rool n DKC2 before breaking free and uppercutting him, and the Tusks' laser fire from Jungle Beat), but Air Man running into you does twice as much damage as a mini 'nado, and I dunno what to make of that.

Depends on location, if it's in Air Man's room, Air Man hard stomps. If it's out in jungle open field (aka z axis) it's much closer.

I've seen DK die to tornados so many times in Smash Bros.

Air Man wins.

I'm just going on Smash sizes where DK looks to be closer to 4 Mega Mans. That's the scientific method.

I'm convinced. Air Man takes this one.

I love Mega Man and some of the characters have ludicrous stats, but I don't think Air Man has any canon feats or specific values to judge how powerful he's meant to be.

Heat Man's flames burn at over 21,000 degrees which would be twice as hot as the surface of the sun & he can briefly transform into pure energy that seems to be immune to everything. This should make him an absurdly powerful character, but in gameplay, he's pretty lame and none of that comes across.

Flash Man can freeze time and (other than Quick Man) all the RMs have chips that make them immune to time manipulation. It's not relevant to anything, I just think Wily doesn't get enough credit for his genius; simultaneously inventing a way to control time & render your creations immune to it is more impressive than anything Thomas ever did #truegenius

But Air Man has nothing. You can *try* arguing his power level based on other characters'--"He can tank multiple fully charged shots from Heat Man's weapon, so he must be durable; his tornadoes deal as much damage as Heat Man's flames, so he must be strong"--but there's literally no canon evidence to support this or disprove it.

Even his weakness is a point of contention. The Leaf Shield is not made of actual leaves; they are leaf shaped blades made of Ceratanium/Ceramic Titanium. Yes, Air Man is weak to it--you are literally lodging several blades of a fantasy super metal into his body. Most people are vulnerable to being ripped apart from inside by giant blades.

-But- it's actually canon that he hates falling leaves in general. So he may actually be weak to regular leaves after all?? This character is a mess. (If you consider the Power Battles series canon then he's also weak to large blocks being thrown into his propeller, so any large debris can defeat him.)

The only thing I can find for a feat for Air Man is that he can create typhoon class winds. Could Donkey Kong survive a typhoon? Probably. I'd be shocked if he didn't fight through a typhoon or other comparable weather disaster in at least one of his games. There are certainly RMs I'd take over DK, but this feels like a stomp in DK's favor.

Do the tornadoes actually damage DK though? We're comparing a robot to a carbon-based lifeform, so DK may just experience some pushback. Those tornadoes are small.

Are you implying the tornadoes are specifically harmful for electronics?
