To be fair, I know exactly how powerful Toad is many times over but its not exactly the easiest thing to make outside of Prank Kids.

From what I understand, a new tier 0 archetype/deck in the OCG called Splights is to blame for the situation.

Yeah, the upcoming metas in Master Duel don't look promising at all. We're already dealing with DPE everywhere, then it's going to be Adventure engine everywhere, then eventually Splights are going to hit... and that's on top of the inability to side deck and already broken shit that's banned in both IRL formats inexplicably being left alive in Master Duel like Rhongo, True King, and Imperial Order.

At this rate, Master Duel is going to be the card game equivalent of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 with the "leave the broken shit in and pray it all just cancels each other out" approach that Konami seems to be taking with this game. It's going to be an absolute dumpster fire at this rate.

95/100 for the battle pass.

I'm in plat so matches are something else now. I should be able to hit 100 before the pass ends in 3 days.

Continuing on my bafflement towards YGO mechanics, apparently fusion summoning Buster Blader Dragon Destroyer through banishing Destruction Sword Memories trap card doesn't count as 'properly special summoned' even though the trap card mention 'fusion summon'.

Buster Blader Dragon Destroyer says "Must be fusion summoned" so if you are trying to special summon it from the gy after fusion summoning, it would never work.

Buster Blader, the Dragon Destroyer Swordsman says "Must be Fusion Summoned." in its card effect. That means that fusion summoning it is the only way that it can be summoned. At all. Period.

Splights are already dead. Probably the shortest tier 0 ever, even shorter than PePe. At least they're like a tier 1 or 1.5 now, with Tearlaments and Ishizu being t0.5 now but less than Splights in terms of dominance

Because fusion summoning is its own type of summoning. Most cards that state cannot be special summon by other means are cards you special summon.

If you can recycle the card back into your extra deck you can summon it again. Idk much about the archetype to know if they have cards to do that.

There is Fusion Substitute that fuse (but only materials on the field) then you can banish it to return a fusion monster to the deck and draw a card, but that's a generic card.

I just think it means I can't be too trigger happy with summoning BB Dragon Destroyer, especially since I only have one copy. It feels more like it is a last resort.

This. Even though I can recycle like a champion with Thunder Dragons, its still better to have multiple copies of key cards. Its why Tri-Brigrad runs 2 Shurags

I think it's become customary for people to bitch about every loaner deck lul. But the wind charmer/Neph one is honestly not that bad. You don't lose in 1 turn most of the time cuz the CPU clogs his own board with too many Impcantations. So if you go first (can do this going 2nd but riskier), set up a destruction on that one chick to search for a ritual spell, while you're at it, get the orange ritual girl to hand

Summon her, summon the blue one, summon anybody else. If you're lucky enough, do one more ritual, link them all off for the Nephthys Link-3. If you check your opponent's deck, you might find that they literally have 0 outs to this lmao. Even just a 2 ritual infused Neph Link-3 will do. You, on the other hand, do have outs if the CPU manages to summon him somehow, by bouncing it with one of the familiars or running over it for menial damage using the charmer continuous spell.

Oh no, I can't believe people are being asked to think or examine the opponent and their decks beforehand, even though the option is plainly available from the start

I will also admit that I tend to go blind for the first attempt. If that fails horribly or I have no idea what the win con is, I'll take a peek at both and find there's usually an intended path there.

I beat the Charmer deck without too much trouble. It's shit but the matchup isnt hilariously one-sided like Danger!Kuriboh or some of those SP duels.

The Majespecter deck was also shit, lol. It's like they go out of their ways to give you the worst, most gimped versions of these things as possible. Only one of each removal spell, plus clogging your hand with two of those absolutely worthless continuous traps. No copies of the attack boost card. I still won but it took forever >_>

Majespecter deck was pretty decent I thought lul. Mostly cuz they don't do anything vs. a single Majespecter that searches for a counter, then you just swarm for the win next turn using Neph stuff

Danger!Kuriboh was def the 2nd worst one (the worst one is actually Joey vs. Bandit Keith where they literally give you an inconsistent unga bunga vs. Desperado despacito)

But Dangers themselves are really good, and Bigfoot gives you a reaction play or a 3k beater. It doesn't always have to go into a grind game like people think it does.

If there's one thing you can count on Konami for, it's over-balancing already underpowered archetypes for absolutely no fucking reason. >_>

Oh I don't mind Dangers at all. I just have no idea wtf they were thinking by pairing the engine up with Kuribohs, and then giving the CPU a hard-counter to half of your deck. >_>

Dark Magicians are one of my favorite off-meta decks to play against since they're always popping off some weird bullshit I gotta work around. Blue Eyes is just...did they summon Chaos MAX? No? I win. Yes? Do I have non-targeting/non-destruction removal? Yes? I win. No? I win in two more turns.

Halqi banned in OCG? Now there is one less way of making Accesscode for Sky Strikers but then again we have Raye + Linkage for potential OTK after clearing the boards. And glad to see Toadally Awesome banned. That card is disgusting and so are Splights. Its time for Tearalaments to shine

Funnily my Red-Eyes deck currently has quite the amount of one-off apart from Limit 1 by default. I will be sad by the lost of Black Metal Dragon, though.

Ironically, almost all of these cards should be banned in the regular Master Duel banlist as well.

This is what I have so far. Tested it a bit in solo and it seems consistent enough. When I have more time I'll test it in the duel rooms.

Fundamentally it's just a standard Pendmage/Odd-eyes deck but with all the duplicates replaced by generic cards. Looking at it now will probably ditch Maxx C, idk what I'll replace it with yet lol.

Had more time than I thought I did. >_> I don't know why I'm surprised, but Eldlich, Counter Fairies, and Swordsoul are all still things, and just as frustrating to play against.

I managed to beat Floodgate Eldlich and Counter Fairies. Turns out Vortex Dragon is p fucking strong, and getting him out isn't too hard, since the deck has a pretty decent number of ways to get there. I'm upset I couldn't figure out how to save Duel Room replays though, because the eldlich match was realy grindy and tense, I enjoyed it. I'm spectating a duel between SwordSoul/Tenyi and...SkullSevrvant Eldlich fuch yeah boney bois!

Made a Limit 1 Dragon Link deck with only cards that I have.

Featuring a random Red-Eyes Fusion (for Slash Dragon) alongside BMD-REDMD, Galactic Spiral Dragon (for 3 GalaXyz Cipher), Dragonmaids for House/Sheou, and Jet Synchron for the heck of it.

Now what to cut for BLS - Soldier of Chaos.

Not Master Duel but I played in locals Thursday. My last round was against an Eldlich player who was visiting from Japan. This dude legit spoke 0 english and had a friend translating when needed. At one point he flipped mystic mine on me and we were both just drawing and ending our turns until one of us drew an out.

He looks up at me with the biggest smile and was like "oh ho ho exodia ho ho" all 3 of us busted out laughing.

I ended up making Sinister Sovreign which basically shut down his whole deck.

Yeah, I can see 5-6 on there that could probably be banned full time. And the difference is really just not wanting to muck up my partner's TK Swordsoul deck.

Union carriet. Verte, VFD, IO, & Vanity's could stay and I wouldn't bat an eye.

A Plat 5, 51 card, Blues Eye deck using Golden Sarc. I just can't even.

Verte is not that game breaker, Ive used a couple of time and its been destroyed/ negated about 7/10 times

Eldlich is actually pretty decent, since even at 1 copy each it has a bunch of ways to search him out.

I'll reiterate that from what Ive seen in the duel rooms, floodgate eldlich and zombie goodstuff eldlich are both surprisingly strong. The latter also used Burial From the Different Dimension to recycle banished zombies. You can also use Zombie Necronize or Zombie Power Struggle to recycle gold daddy if you need to. >_>

Which one? I've beaten that one but I don't quite remember. In general I feel like the duels were kinda just summon the Shiranui beatsticks faster
