Is there a single duelist that doesn't use an annoying or "broken" card? A lot of YGO detractors definitely don't quite understand the meaning of powerful cards vs broken cards tbh.

See, it might be crazy to hear, but a single card that takes 3 other cards to deal with is actually ok, cuz in YGO, you're probably using that card by cutting down on a lot of other things or putting bricks in the deck.

But a broken card is when it takes infinite cards to deal with 1 card. By infinite here, it means there's no reasonable out, like a lot of decks can't run Kaijus or like xyz detach situational bs. I'd also consider a Herald of Perfection with Beatrice/Eva support a close to infinite resource for 1 type of card. Again, Kaiju counters this but a lot of decks can't run Kaijus.

All unsearchable spells and traps are actually balanced, believe it or not. There are so many cards that out it one for one, and that alone does actually make it balanced. It's frustrating when it seemingly solo wins games, and I think 3 Mystic Mines is a bit harsh, but triple MM is also still in a bo3 format, and side decking helps deal with it quite a bit.

I think designing things to always be like 1 for 1 in value actually makes for a not very dynamic gameplay evolution. YGO feels pretty different all the time because of how wonky the valuation of cards are, and occasionally they'll let it out of fucking control like with SPYRALs or Drag Rulers or now Splights. But it doesn't happen as often as ppl like to think.

Pure Eldlich is 100% worthless without floodgates, especially with the banlist hit to Conquistador. It's not even worth attempting to make it work.

However, you can combine Eldlich with another archetype and maybe make that combined deck work without floodgates. I made Eldlich+Invoked and it works pretty well, and I've heard good things about Eldlich being mixed with Shiranui, Live Twins, Dragonmaids, and others. Zombie World Eldlich variants are also pretty popular, but some would argue that Zombie World itself is technically a floodgate because it can stop decks that rely on monsters being certain types, like Tri-Brigades.

1 Predaplant Verte Anaconda

Put the first four in your deck and the latter two in your extra deck. Destroyer Phoenix Enforcer (simply called DPE) is a really good fusion monster that has a really strong non-targeting destruction effect and is really hard to get rid of. Fusion Destiny is a really good fusion Spell card that can fusion summon DPE using materials (usually Dasher and Celestial) from the deck. And finally, Predaplant Verte Anaconda is a generic Link 2 monster whose effect can mimic a fusion Spell card in your deck. So essentially, you can turn literally any two effect monsters into Verte, which then uses its effect to summon DPE by sending Fusion Destiny, Dasher, and Celestial to the graveyard. The engine is so good and so compact that you can throw it in pretty much any deck and instantly make the deck better.

If you haven't yet, buy the bundle in the shop that gets you 10 master packs (at a discount) and a copy of Ash Blossom & Joyous Spring. Ash Blossom is one of the best hand traps in the game and is nearly essential to have in the current metagame. Maxx C is the other nearly essential hand trap, so try to craft 3 of each of those as soon as possible. There are other useful hand traps, like Ghost Belle & Haunted Mansion, Effect Veiler, Infinite Impermenance, Artifact Lancea, and Psy-Frame Gamma, but Ash Blossom and Maxx C are the two best ones that will be useful in the most situations.

Pure Tri takes a hit, but Lyrilusc and Zoo variants shouldn't be too worried about it. Personally I don't have a problem with Zombie World because its primary function is to enable plays, rather than being entirely focused on restricting them. Imo there's a reason the DNA traps don't see a lot of play, and it's because simply fucking around with Attributes/Types isn't nearly as crippling as most other floodgates. (Though I guess that would be meta dependent. meh >_>)

Oh gosh, I just lost because someone kaiju'd my Slash Dragon and took their kaiju back with Owner's Seal.

How could their hands just had such a perfect combination to screw things like that.

I really wanted to build a deck like this, but the fact that Remove Brainwashing is an UR from legacy packs pisses me off enough to not want to anymore. I just know if I waste UR material crafting 3 of them for the deck, then the legacy packs will decide to spit one out afterwards and the material will go to waste. Maybe if the legacy packs give me one copy, then I'll craft the other two and build the deck.

But no. Their deck was a Despia deck. This happened after a DPE, a couple Fallen of Albaz, and a Super Poly.

I made a mistake of putting down my one and only card in hand to bluff while I had a Paleo Dinomischus set due to Mana Dragon Zirnitron's effect.

In a span of about 20 minutes, I went from not knowing that Cupid Pitch existed to her possibly being my new favorite card in the entire game.

She's super adorable, she has several qualities or I suppose fetishes might be a better word for it that I really like in cute anime girls, she was just added to the game in the brand new selection pack, she's only an R rarity so she can be crafted easily, and I learned in my limited research of what she's capable of that she absolutely breaks the everliving fuck out of decks that use the Halqifibrax+Auroradon setup combo. So I'm probably going to spend the next couple of hours and my entire gem stash on one of my accounts building a deck around her.

Oh, the only high rarity new Rokket/Borrel cards on that new pack is Borrelcode (UR). Everything else is Rare or Common.

Rokket Caliber seems nice.

edit: I'm pretty sure Resonator synchro deck uses Cupid Pitch, at least in one video I watched.

This charmer nephthys deck is so trash.

The AI manages to ritual summon all their monsters and I can barely get anything out because there is absolutely no synergy between these archetypes.

Yeah Cupid Pitch being an R is kinda ridiculous. It's probably one of the best synchros in the game atm. I dunno about its longevity, but its combo potential is really really wide

What do you guys think is the simplest pendulum deck?
Everytime I see Endymion it just makes me go ptsd on reading.

Went ahead and built Exosisters against my better judgment. I really like the art and flavor of the archetype, but the deck kinda feels weird to play. >_>

Idk about "simple" but if you're looking for one to play I'd recommend either Odd-Eyes or Pendmages. Both are really fun and the combos really aren't that complicated.

So I am not the only one who saw the cupid pitch cards and decided to build a deck of it along with exosisters. Sky Strikers, Exosisters and Cupid Pitch sounds fun to play with while climbing

Pendulum festival is inevitable.

Beside, it is the only SS method deck I don't have yet (Link I have Rokket/Borrel).

So my Exosister deck's maiden voyage intro ranked was a surprising success. Went against a Tri-Brigade player.

Now, it absolutely does help that I Ashed Fraktal and was able to hard cast Fusion Destiny. In fact...DPE singlehandedly carried the game, because my Pax got Ashed, so I couldn't even do any Exosister plays. >_>

BUT

The Exosister trap card is a beast if you time it right. Activated in response to Revolt to summon two sisters, so Sophia, Ellis, and Stella all were about to proc their 1-card xyz effects. Which would have been cool if they didn't immediately scoop.

But again, they only scooped because DPE forced Revolt to activate early, and due to the timing, I was able to blow up Shuraig.

All this to say, I definitely like the idea of Exosisters and they've got some fun gimmicks. But they're definitely underpowered. I understand there's going to be support in the far flung future. In the mean time, they're a fun casual thing. <_<

I just had a duel where we both spent 15+ turns staring at each other.

I bricked so hard, but not sure about the other person (I negated some of their cards).

e: and one against Invoked-Shaddoll-Despia. They banished my Red-Eyes (and Zirnitron) so my MBCD couldn't float back to it, then when I got the chance to retaliate I forgot Fairy Tail - Snow was still in their GY.

What a shame. And they only had 800 LP left too.

So can someone help me out?

I really want to make this Penguin deck as viable as possible but I definitely need some extra deck monsters besides the Penguin synchro. What are the best options for water based cards? Are there any really strong ones I should consider? My problem is I always build the main deck but I get lazy with the extra deck

I haven't played since the last event, and now I started again to get that Mokey Mokey mate.

I gotta say, it's not been so bad. One bot, and I think Komoney finally did something to prevent them from delaying in the draw phase.

I also lost a basically won game vs. Code Talkers because the guy had the best hand in the fucking world, and I didn't have the foresight to simply just send back my Baronne for a 2nd turn of Scythe.

But I didn't think he would literally have every best card in his deck in his hand, so that was a big RIP. Won the other duels, a timelord burn player could've beat me cuz I misplayed again and should've kept his dumb kaiju on my field so he can't kill my outs. But I won that one

Well, from what little I know of Penguin decks, you're gonna want Toadally Awesome at the very least. Probably also Bahamut Shark, depending on how many level 4 monsters you have. Beyond that... no idea. Maybe Stealth Kraken, though it has the same issue as Bahamut Shark.

Jokes aside. There is tons for a rank 4 XYZ toolbox. Abyss Dweller, Bamboozling shadow (number 43?) for Niberu protection. And those are just the usual suspects that werent already mentioned.

Water has a lot of great synergy in the Archtype as well. You can potentially look at other water decks to get ideas for Penguins. The overlap of a search card just saying Water monster instead of something more specific is kinda high actually. Same goes for protection. Water is a well supported attribute in that sense.

WTF how come Buster Blader Dragon Destroyer and Buster Dragon are not categorized as 'Destruction Sword' cards.

They lose to a single Raigeki I can't-

Was trying to make use of Prologue trap GY to banish effect so they cannot be destroyed by battle/effect....only to find out the hard way as said above.

What's with this half-hearted treatment to an archetype. Or am I using them wrong?
