I wanted to get back into Master Duel now that Konami's actually adding content finally, but I kinda rage-quit my original account way back in the day for an assortment of reasons.

In short, it has no SR or UR cards and no mats to craft any. So essentially the account's now unplayable, Konami won't let you start over, and spending hundreds of dollars to fix that mess wouldn't really be a viable solution.

So the only way I could play again would be to... make an entirely new Steam account for just Master Duel, which just sounds obnoxious having to switch accounts around just to play other games...

Oh.. good to know. If it's any consolation, you can get an assload of gems during the fusion event soon. One of the loaner decks looked decent.

Yeah, you're going to have to start a new account. Either start an entirely new Steam account and play Master Duel there or download Master Duel on a console (it's on all three major consoles) or your phone (it's on both IOS and Android) and start over there.

Something else I hadn't thought about when I went and made an alt: All the game launch bonuses have expired, so the amount of gems you start with has decreased significantly. You used to have several thousand gems left over after buying the three special bundles, but now you only have enough to buy the bundles with barely any left over.

What this means is you have fewer resources to start a deck with before you have to chip away at solo mode, and solo mode... kinda really sucks and is a slog to play. Especially with a mostly-unmodified starter deck.

Just make True Dracos at the start until you save up more gems. You basically only need a single non-free UR for the entire deck to function (Terraforming to fetch Dragonic Diagram) and the rest of the deck is lower rarity stuff. Plus you'll be able to use it in the Fusion event with only a few changes.

Sky Strikers is also cheap obviously. But any new deck should just try to max out one single deck. Preferably choose something with a pretty consistently played engine.

I officially hate Cyberdark.

Granted I only played against it once and opened zero hand traps going second.

But I hate it.

I think it is best to open a secret pack that lets you make a deck with just most of the cards in said pack to save gems.

Speaking of secret pack, I kinda want to pull the Inevitability of Chaos pack (the one that has Black Luster in it) for Chaos Spaces and a chance in Chaotic Magical Dragon.

Is it worth it to pull for just them? And are the rest of the deck usable? I know the Black Luster Solider link (the UR one) is pretty good boss monster.

As well, I want to make a Buster Blader centered deck, too.

Just managed a win with the absolute worst hand imaginable.

2 ash blossoms, fusion destiny, D-hero Dasher, and D-hero celestial going 1st against Tri-brigade.

He ends up going Maxx C vs my fusion destiny, I try to negate with Ash and he Gammas. Then I summon DPE and pass with 1 ash in hand, DPE on field.

Long story short Ecclesia is a very good card.

Man, I am really getting tired of falling down the ranked staircase. Going from one away from ranking up (to Plat 3) to crashing back into the basement due to a string of bad luck on my opening hands (either no hand traps or not enough hand traps) for the fourth time this month is really not fun.

And something tells me the Fusion festival will not help much with that (although the bigger issue there is finding some stuff to slot into my IDS deck, although a Loaner deck might be the option there).

3k gems but only one Chaos Space.

Now, are the Gaias any good? It surprisingly have so many cards associated with the monster (and Curse of Dragon).

No, they're bizarrely outdated in a lot of their effects despite being released not all that long ago. I think they got like 1 decent card and like 1 ok continuous spell? They come across as some Duel Links fodder or genwunning

Buster Blader is good but it's stupidly heavily reliant on DNA transformation or whatsis that can make everything a dragon. It's basically like an auto win floodgate in that deck.

Just defeated a Sky Striker player in mirror match without using Engage a single time while they used it once... DPE is broken and of course Roze is the ultimate Raye killer

I see, so basically Buster Dragon synchro is the cornerstone since it changes all opponent monster into dragon type.

Yeah, the True Draco decks last time ran Dreiath (Drieath?) over Dinomight and Majesty Maiden, and I assume they'll do the same this time. Personally, I'm not gonna resort to that right away, since I do have an Invoked Shaddoll deck I can play.

Not worth it. Skill Drain is at 1 on the event banlist (unlike back in the Synchro event) and Monarchs Erupt (which is still at 3 and is basically 3 more copies of Skill Drain if your deck can use it) requires having a completely empty extra deck. True Dracos would much rather have 4 Skill Drains instead of 1 Skill Drain and maybe a fluke-y DPE now and then.

Most players switched the missing copies of Dinomight and Majesty Maiden for Dreiath. Some might use a copy of Metaltron as well for a potential 3k beatstick that's unaffected by stuff.

I can provide a budget-friendly True Draco decklist for anyone who doesn't have a deck ready for this event and doesn't want to use the loaner decks.

Prolly gonna try Red-Eyes in the event despite its sucky fusion, or just plain Dragonmaid. If all else fails I'll pick the best loaner deck.

But I can't say no to budget Truedraco.

-3 Dreiath III, the True Dracocavalry General
-2 Soul Exchange
-1 Disciples of the True Dracophoenix
-1 True King's Return

+1 Majesty Maiden, the True Dracocaster
+2 Dinomight Knight, the True Dracofighter
+1 Harpie's Feather Duster
+2 The Monarchs Stormforth
+2 Skill Drain

That adds 6 more SR's and 1 more UR to the total cost, but 15 SR's and 2 non-free UR's is still extremely cheap compared to a lot of other decks you'll see online. It's also a great first deck to build on a new alt account while you save up gems to build your first real deck and craft staples.

Currently 8-1 for the Fusion Festival. Only loss was against a burn deck since my deck doesn't deal with backrow too well.

Are the loner decks any good?

I made a Red-Eyes deck for the fusion fes but then I realized that it is my usual Red-Eyes deck before I went Dragonlink, minus the Xyz and Link.

Okay, hit the halfway point (aka the end of the gems) with my Invoked Shaddoll deck. Won a few too many games due to the opponent disconnecting, but fuck it, I'll take it. Only saw two TD decks and a pair of Timelords, everyone else was running Despia (mostly with Shaddolls or Darklords) or Destiny HEROs.

Definitely the best moment was that souped up 3500 ATK Eldlich attacking House, but then I quick effect'd Kitchen's dragon form that gives 2k ATK leading to the Eldlich killing itself lmao.

Imagine the opponent negates your DPE summon but then also manages to summon DPE of their own. How much pissed would you feel?

I just went through that but I managed to win anyway. Shark Cannoning DPE feels great. I believe Ghost Belle and Shark Cannons are very more useful now

Terrible first day of the event for me. I went 4-10 in event duels, then I went back to ranked to complete my dailies (I was playing before the daily reset) and I lost 5 duels in a row before finally getting a win to complete my dailies. I had so many duels where my opponent summoned DPE and I didn't summon him or draw a counter for him, and even the times I did summon him myself, my opponent always had their counter ready.

Oh well, hopefully things turn around for me. I still need to do dailies on my second account after lunch.

Yep, 10k is the limit for free gems you can carry in your wallet at any time, and anything else goes to your gift box where it can expire. I agree, it's dumb. Just keep saving, and if the gems in your box are about to expire, then spend a bit and claim the ones that are about to expire.

You can go over 10k with paid gems, but why would you ever go and spend money on this game when it's so F2P-friendly?

So apparently the game wants me to play Swordsouls! I opened 2 Mo Ye plus the 2 synchros. I have enough to get protos and another Mo Ye plus have a floating UR. Was probably going to make Baronne.

Would that be enough for the deck to work in Platinum?

Yes. You would need to invest more into the surrounding cards than Gaia is worth. Put it to what you actually want to play. Not what you may make sometime down the road.

Good news: Ritual Beasts are still fun to play. Added an Invoked package RB is unsalvageably jank and I may as well just embrace that. At the very least, if I "brick" I can always just normal summon Aleister. >_>

Went 0-6 on my side account trying to complete daily challenges before I just gave up and redeemed 3 different ones. So in total, across both of my accounts, I went 5-21 today. Absolutely awful.
