I started the event with shadoll/invoked but I actually got the best pulls I've ever had on the new packs today. Now I've got a ton despia cards and a lot of the swordsouls too. I got a prismatic fallen of albaz so I changed my fusions festival deck entirely.

Fusion festival is slightly better than synchro, but still flawed.

Also feels like the loaner decks are overall worse this time.

I like to think that he got bored which considering the type of deck he's running is a win.

Windwitch RB is still my favorite, but it's been ages since I saw RBs. In the context of fusion only, yeah Invoked could be good, but pure RB is generally the best if you're locked to fusions. It's kinda rough cuz your combos get like 2-3 times longer without the RB Winda link

I'm realizing I just really like fusion decks in general. Despia is fun summoned masquerade and my opponent kept burning himself until they just quit. To be fair this is the first event I wasn't in platinum for and it so much more fun its practically a different game!

Not me bawling my eyes looking at Buster Blader support cards' art while trying to assemble a deck.

Holy crap, I think Ranked might be the most boring and repetitive bullshit possible right now. Played ten games, and seven of them were Swordsoul Tenyi (the other three were Eldlich, Invoked DPE, and Tri-Brigade who... turbo'd DPE out turn one).

I didn't think I'd actually miss Drytrons or Rhongo Bongo, and yet here I am.

Even in Gold IV - V (where I am), there is a Swordsoul Tenyi. With DPE.

This game really needed unranked matchmaking

What does it mean by 'Save Replay'?
Does it mean it saves as a file in our computer, or something we can pull up no matter the time in game (since the replay gets replaced/deleted after a while)?

So I went ahead and bit the bullet on one gem bundle, thinking surely it would let me build Swordsoul.

Two out of the 3 ten pulls had no URs fuck this game -______-

I did manage to dismantle enough URs (thanks fusion festival) and now have the core deck, and can focus on the toolbox cards to supplement it.

Tenyi swordsoul. I bricked SUPER bad game 3 with 2 effecr veiler, 2 triple talents, and Fallen of Albaz in my opening hand going 1st.

I also nerfed myself because I forgot to add in my other 2 infinite impermanences so I was running only 1...

Haven't had time to but I'm going to climb through silver and gold over the weekend. Feels like I'm bullying most players with how good my deck is but all thebmore reason the rise up the ranks.

But before that I'm probably going to either try and pull DPE or just buy him outright to splash into my deck for at least one fusion monster to utilize. And fill out space in my current deck to fill space.

I have stubbornly made a skull servant shaddoll Fusion deck for the Festival

My first duel after joining the dark side that is DPE and I forgot to activate his effect that lets him return in the next turn lmao.
Oh, that duel also had me kinda brick my hand.

From what I saw it was 4 swordsoul 2 tri brigade including myself, 6 despia, 1 prank kids, 1 eldlich. I didn't see what the lower tables were playing though.

Almost a year later and I realize that that is a giant hand, not a 5-headed eldrich rock monster

I regularly beat Swordsoul with my good stuff danger paleo kitchen sink deck, but the going first is incredibly high value sadly.

6-5 in event duels today, my U.A. deck (and my luck) was going much better than yesterday. I'm now halfway through the event points on my main account, and I'll wait to finish the event until they add a second batch of missions halfway into the event like they usually do.

Now time to work on the event on my side account.

I'm not doing ranked so I'm in Silver lobby, but yeah most ppl don't seem to know how to play their deck, and I only lost twice going into all the gem rewards from points. Playing Despia since I tried to build them and they sucked, but a lot of the fusion decks run light and dark mons, which automatically make them so much stronger than they should be.

I'm in Gold 3 on both of my accounts and have been facing some... mixed competition. I'm definitely finding more good players than bad ones, but I've run into a few who were using a loaner deck and didn't really know what to do with it. I've also only run into 3 anti-meta True Draco players, 2 of whom beat me pretty badly while the other scooped after I wiped his backrow with Lightning Storm.

Maxx C can only be used once per turn

However, it DOES stack with Shared Ride ;)

I haven't touched the fusion fes again, waiting for the next set of mission, perhaps.

Currently at 3550, so 7450 pts more to get all the gems which is quite a tall order.

For my actual deck, I keep thinking about whether to keep RE Slash Dragon (targeted-effect omni-negate only if it is equipped + gets PK Fog Blade off the deck) or replacing it with Meteor Black Comet Dragon (more raw power + immediate direct damage).

Playing Ritual Beasts in the fusion festival. Sucks not having access to Ulti-Kimunfalcos or most of the synchros that I normally run, but I can deal with it. Also working on a Shaddoll-Subterror deck in the mean time.

So I crafted Auroradan because apparently there's some cheeky combo you can do with it in Sword Soul.

But after 10 practice duels, I opened either Deskbot or O-Lion every single time.

This may be God's way of telling me not to play cancer.

At this point I might as well remove every aspect of Red-Eyes, leaving 2 BMD, REDMD, and an RE Spirit for Dragonlink and just relies on DPE for fusion.

Making it is a (good) mistake.

Is ending the board with just Borreload Savage for negation normal for Dragonlink? I saw a comment on YT that 'such board for Dragonlink is incredibly weak'.

Just Borreload Savage won't really stop the opponent from breaking your board and building their own. It only has one omni negate per turn. So unless your opponent has only one card in hand that he can negate, its very easy to play around him

Brushing off my Toon deck, went against Traptrix. Comic Handing Rafflesia. Feels so good mang.

Meanwhile in ranked Im beginning to wonder how Im supposed to be playing the Tenyi part of tenyi swordsoul. The majority of the time they just act as extra targets for Mo Ye and Long. Occasionally I use the dark tenyi's bounce effect. But like the majority of the time, its like...Swordsoul synchro, Baronne, and the swordsoul trap doing the majority of the work.

And if the game goes longer, I never need to go into Tenyi over just bringing out like, one of the Yang Zing synchros. >_>

But my deck isn't full dragonlink since I lack the cards*, so I'm at mercy of opening hand.

*Missing 2x Wyverburster, 2x Chaos Space, 1x Absorouter, and 3x Seyfert. Also lack one more Quick Launch.

Just beat a Dragon Maid player by summoning Purgatorio, banishing Phoenix from their grave. Next turn they used Dasher's gy effect which screwed them out of actually using their dragon maid card to make a recovery. (Purgatorio is a "one monster effect per turn" floodgate lol)

Caliga's the monster effect floodgate, Purgatrio's the one that attacks all your opponent's monsters for piercing damage.

I've had the idea for this unholy abomination of a deck sitting in the back of my mind for a while, but seeing the Fusion festival in action and the addition of DPE to the game made me finally pull the trigger on making it.

Did some combo practice in Solo mode. Think Im finally getting the hang of the Tenyi cards.

Ending on a monster negate, an omni negate, a banish, and an icarus attack feels like cheating somehow.

Did take out auroradan for the time being because the wombo combo is garnet as hell and I cant un-garnet it without ruining the main strategy's consistency

I misplayed madam verre a lot today. Her quick effect got in my way of activating her second one.

Also I just found out that if u decrease madam verre atk after she used her second effect. She will keep whatever atk/def she had. No reset of atk will occur after end phase.

I know atk/def modification is a really wacky corner of the rules that result in some really unintiuitive results. >_>
