Depends on the spells. Golden vow and flame grant me strength do stack from my testing. But ive seen one persona stack like 7 different buffs to one shot the hardest boss in the game

@MJOLNRVII On my str/fai I mostly raised faith. Blasphemous was just too good and built around it.

I beat Malenia late last night. I was stuck on her for three days, I wouldn't be surprised if she killed me 100 times total. I was level 160 going in, INT/DEX build, running dual katanas (maxed out Moon and Meteor), with a +10 Mimic. I crushed every boss with little to no trouble with this build but man did I hit a wall with her. I got way too reliant on bailing myself out with Transient Moonlight. I realize now that it was a crutch, and I got lazy with my technique as a result.

I spent my first session trying to brute force my way through, came close, but couldn't dodge Waterfowl Dance with any sort of reliability. Spent the following two sessions respec'ing into different builds, upgrading different weapons, maxed out Black Blade Tiche, tracked down useful talismans and weapon arts that I could use against her. I even leveled up 12 times after cashing in all of my golden runes in one go. Came close to beating her but wasn't able to finish her off until I went with a pure blood build. I've never been so relieved to beat an enemy, but boy do a feel like a total hack at this game now lol.

Confused about incantations. What makes them do more damage?

Raising faith?
The seal?
The seal's strength / faith scaling?
The seal's incant scaling?

All of those things?

Whatever the Incantation Scaling number or whatever it's called says on the Seal itself. Some of them scale with Faith or different/more stats, and some Seals have specific buffs to the schools of their spells. The Dragon Communion Seal will boost Dragon Communion(not to be confused with Dragon Cult) spells by 15% for example. There's also some weird stuff like how the Clawmark Seal's Strength scaling stops working on weapon buff spells. What's the build you're using and the spells you plan to use?

Does the attribute scaling matter on the seal at all? Or only incantation scaling? What does the former do?

Oh Alexander

I was gonna do Alexander's quest this run, but it's glitched since they rebuffed Radahn. I'm heated!

I'm slowly working my way through Miquella's Haligtree. RL130. Playtime 180 hours. I'm ready for something else now, but I want to complete at least one of the endings before I do so.

I beat radahn prebuff but completed alexander's quest today.

For me alexander's sequence went like this:

Cave in caelid

Radahn battlefield

Standing in lava near mount gelmir (a little bit past fort laiedd and at the battle site where the giant lava breathing lizard spawns)

Then finally farum.

He never showed up at the spot near jarburg for me btw for some reason. I was surprised to see him later though lol.

The attribute scaling on Seals directly affects their Incantation scaling, but only with their Faith scaling for most of them(Finger Seal for example has Strength scaling, but this literally affects just the R2's punch and not spells). The only two with Strength scaling on spells are the Frenzied Flame and Clawmark Seals, so probably pick the one with a higher Incant scaling unless your Fth is noticeably higher than Str.

I'm not sure if someone's already done a guide for best seals depending on your build so maybe look that up too.

Since they rebuffed Radahn he doesn't leave Radahn's boss arena anymore after you beat Radahn which sucks, cuz that screws me out of some good loot and another NPC quest as well.

I think I've reached a plateau... ever since I reached Altus, Leyndell and I got some good armor and the bubble horn, most of the bosses have been trivial to me so far. Alongside the +9 mimic tear.

I remember how tough things were at the start, and now it's almost too easy. I might stop levelling for the time being, they're giving me runes like candy now. I want the blasphemous blade but hear that is a super strong weapon too.

Blew my mind that the capital basically has an entire other dungeon underneath it. finished that area tonight

whats the consensus on the God Devouring Serpent/Rykard? That boss felt extremely unfun. They give you the weapon you need to used which does a decent amount of damage, but it ultimately felt like it was just a matter of shredding him before the RNG decided it was going to do one of his multiple massive area attacks that were basically OHKOs, or that obnoxious exploding skull spam where I couldnt see wtf was going on. Glad thats done with

Just started, first time playing a Dark souls game. Handling the minions okay but getting rekt by every boss lol

Ahh maliketh. took me a lot of tries to beat him. Spent like 30 mins dying amd reattempting. That dude moves fast af and makes me dizzy. I like how you can jump attack right as he's about to do some lunge attack and he totally misses you. Felt like i got real lucky my last attempt because he kept doing that attack xd

as much as i love the game, this game has some of the most annoying footsies i've ever played. the jumping away thing. or you want to get to a safe distance for a heal but they'll stay perfectly on your ass, waiting to input read anything you do.

That sounds fun as heck although I'd personally probably try to limit myself to fewer afflictions that you can proc faster. But still yours is probably more fun.

Just to make sure, is there some mechanic where it wouldn't just build multiple status effects at the same time? Or is it just that having two different weapons with different status effects is slower?

No, there's no such mechanic. It's just, if you focus on one affliction, you can make it go up faster. Like, the bleed scales with ARC right? And I think frost scales with INT. Rot idk. But what people often do is they use an ash of war on a normal weapon and give it ARC scaling.

those annoying fucking assholes who come with either a shield/sword or a halberd

they're very heavily armored yet somehow still quick as hell they're hard to stagger and they string together a very fast and effective/difficult to break combo constantly

they're not minibosses, they're just regular field enemies and they're annoying as fuck

There are some Knights in a much later optional area that should really tickle your fancy then

Not to be confused with Crucible Knights, who are similar yet more terrible but less annoying since they're few and far between

I did it! Struggled with Radagon/Elden Beast all day but I finally got the job done! I was so frustrated I told myself I was done with this game. Now I'm ready to run it back with ng+ lol

I still cant believe the extent to which this game just keeps fucking going

have access to all the underground areas now and so I focused on those tonight, just tons of huge totally optional content that if the game wasnt so compelling people would just blow right past

I got all the achievements now. Been playing only 2 to 3 days a week the past month, so progress has really slowed down for me.. Im gonna farm later today to buy a bunch of boiled crabs and smithing stones before new game.

Ran into a new dilemma lol. Just got an idea for a Vergil build as well as came up with a Zasalamel (from Soul Calibur) build, but I'm already in Liurnia on a DEX/ARC build. Now I'm conflicted on whether I should start all over again with one of the 2 new ones or just keep going with my current run.
