Beat Rykard. Volcano manor was a great dungeon and the quest lines and story there are very interesting.

The boss fight itself was just yhorm all over again, but I wish it was grand in the way radahn was grand.

I cant remember how it was in demons souls (havent played the other souls games) but it feels like immunity is worth Jack shit. Maybe you can take a little more buildup but the bar drains so damn slow that its just like, fuck it take the scarlet rot and keep chugging health flasks

Finally played enough of this game to no longer be maidenless. Hopefully I'll be able to start playing more consistently soon.

I can't believe all this time I didn't do Gelmir hero Catacombs (Lava chariot level) and Cave of Forlorn. Just did them.

I'm looking at my Steam achievements and it looks like I'm missing the Commander Naill achievement. How is that possible when I've beaten him already? I wonder if it's because back then I had someone help me kill him.

It's prolly a glitch. I'm talking about the one in Castle Sol and this wouldn't matter as I killed both of them already.

Man Leyndell is pretty incredible. So much shit here and so many ways to get to the same places. So many layers...

I'm lvl 94 which may be slightly overlveled but I also refuse to put on heavy armor because I dig the snow witch aesthetic too much. So if I get hit by a physical attack...oof.

I finished filling in my map today. There were 6 sites of grace and 6 caves/catacombs that I had to visit/clear out. I also collected 3 larva tears I missed. During the session I collected 916k runes in the process. I'm going to buy some bolstering materials, level up with the remainder, and start ng+.

Morgott is down, he was easy.

Between the bubble horn and mimic tear I'm really not having any challenge at all. I switched to a different weapon but it's really not that much different.

Hopefully these mountains will be different.

Nah but certain things tune up the big damage

FYI, getting weapons from others can land you the armament achievement.

Valley of Defilement is the most brutal of all the poison swamps. So it's all downhill from there.

My main goals for my current 2nd playthrough are progressing quest lines I missed, and beating the post capital bosses without the crutch of bleed.

Yeah man, just keep hacking at it until it's health is gone. Make sure you don't die before that though.

My b, I was under the impression you just couldn't run past it. Which is what I was trying to do when I first got there.

Keep in mind that side side quest there requires beating the capitol to finish but if you beat the manor you can't complete that quest.

I'm pretty sure that even if she has left the manor the rewards for the assassinations will be on the table.

got to the mountaintops a few days ago and decided to do some cleaning up before continuing

so today I used a map and cleared out all the bosses I had missed on most of the other areas. I think the only things I havent done are an extremely hard evergaol and the northern peninsula of caelid

at level 120 most of it was easy, the things that caused me the most trouble were that fucking dual crucible knight fight and the baleful shadow you have to fight as part of Rannis questline.

at this point even the dragons were relatively easy, and a lot of the field bosses I had missed were a cakewalk. Except death rite birds, fuck those guys

Defeated that gargoyle near the beast clergyman and cleared gelmir hero grave. Got so many runes I leveled up 5 times.

I just beat the dual Crucible Knights fight solo on my current run. It was the only fight I used a spirit ash on my first run, so I'm glad that's done.

...I hate any boss that inflicts Scarlet Rot.

That's one of the worst fights in the game. I did that for the first time a couple days ago.

the first time I fought these guys (not the Scarlet Rot giving ones) is the reason why I use a hammer weapon, tbh.

I have over 200 hours in this game. I just unlocked the Ashen Capital . I spent the majority of my time the last couple of days helping Maidenless assholes with Malenia. It's a fun fight once you know what to look for. I also melted the fuck out of Maliketh. Dude went down in 5 hits.

I just had to spam Moonveil L2 while my Mimic Tear kept the other ones busy. I think I was overleveled too as they went down quick after their poise was broken. Can't imagine how frustrating it would be if it was still tough after that.

ok, i'm burnt out from this game. i'm finally at crumbling farum azula, but the enemies hit so hard. i beat the godskin duo, which means i'm about halfway done with this area, but idk if i can go on.. i'm only level 98, so i know i'm underlevelled, but i also don't want to farm the cliffside birdie for another 3 hours to get my level up..

thIs morning i got up to malenia in ng+. tried her for about an hour before heading to bed (I just woke up like an hour or two ago).
I tried beating her without boiled crab this time (my previous run boiled crab let me trade blows with her frequently; it even tanks the waterfowl dance pretty well [I am also wearing veteran armour set and the dragoncrest greatshield talisman]). it's pretty tough. I'm powerstancing greatswords this time around instead of the giant crusher. the extra range really does help as I frequently missed her with giant crushers tbh.

closest I got so far is like 1/3 remaining healthbar in her phase 2 but then died to a flower bomb FFS xD. I just lost focus by that point.

I hate how even if I bait her to do certain attacks so I can jump attack there is still a chance that she doesn't get staggered and instead immediately goes for some other attack (like waterfowl dance). makes me sad

I'll try to beat her again soon but have to do homework first =/

Yeah, you should have no problems getting the runes you need to level up if you explore naturally. I've lost _so_ many runes in my hours (accidentally spent 600k on level 2 smithing stones lol), but still managed to level up to 130 before even touching the Haligtree and Crumbling Farum Azula.

Im at level 120 just having started the mountaintops with no grinding; just seeking out bosses and dungeons and fully exploring them

Yeah the biggest way to get runes are by far the bosses. The more you do in each area the quicker you level.

Level 90 is around 50k a level IIRC. Although I thought the bird grinding method gave hundreds of thousands of runes very quickly.

I was about 150 by the time I beat the game and didn't grind at all. Just made sure to level up each time I was close enough to.

This sounds like the Curved Sword thing where they get specific moves by dodging during a charged R2. It's the same animation as their "kick" from Dark Souls 3 iirc.
