Way, waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back in the day when your signature was included in the text box you write your messages in changing your signature wouldn't change old posts because they were technically part of the post itself. But yeah, these days it applies retroactively.

...Presumably if you go far enough back to that old posting system you'd still see older signatures but we're probably talking like posts from 2004.

Yup. And this allowed you to manually edit or delete your sig for any given post, and people had a lot of fun with that.

You can make it look like you can see the future by predicting the winners of the SuperBowl in "10 years time"

... anyways this is coming to mind because some of the old posts of mine I see do still use old sigs... and my current sig is appended after it because it doesn't recognize my old sig as an actual sig, even though it's delimited by "---"

I was going to bring this up, I changed mine to dollar signs and one day got like 100 moderations for disruptive posting

Man, I miss changing sigs. Or there was that time/choice where you had a cycle of different sigs it would post with.

I went back and looked at old posts (always a pleasure reading stuff you wrote in your early teens with English as your second language). It seems a bit inconsistent to me. Some of them have my current signature, but others have whatever I had at the time.

I'm fine with changing mine after some failed website attempts I put in my mid 2000s era sig

I changed my signature around once I dropped the bragging of an ORG I won in 2014, because that was a few eons ago now so it was no longer relevant. I then changed it again when I noticed a typo that I lol'd at myself for. Still think there's a little too much in there, but whatever, it's not like people read them anymore.

Old sigs are still on the Lost Old Games Site though.

I used to get B8 to spell out my sig one post at a time but it's hard to care about doing anything like that again

my current sig is from someone suggesting it and i just go sure why not and 6 years later it's still here

It's funny to see people that still old guru winners in their sigs from several contests ago.
