potatoes in a burrito are not unique to Cali, in fact there is prob more authentic mexican food in CA then most places, but there is so much, that you do get things like fries/potatoes etc at some places.

They have that here in WA, they had em in Texas, they have em in Oregon and i'm pretty sure they have em in NY as well.

Even Taco Bell had potatoes in their burritos and that is like everywhere.

Not a huge fan myself (also don't like rice in my burrito) but yeah, it's literally everywhere. Heck it's in most airports as well (the burrito chain they have in there has potatoes as an option.

I am not big on the "putting fries in your burger" thing, but I would be willing to try it.

I don't think I've ever been to a place that serves burritos of any kind that puts potatoes in them.
But the places I'd visit are largely limited to Dominican and Puerto Rican establishments.

But you are also an admitted shut-in. Get out of your house more and go explore. Look up restaurants you haven't been to and try them out. Myself and others on the board have mentioned this in the past when you bring up how sad and lonely you are and it seems to fall on deaf ears. You can't just say "Well, in my narrow experience I've never encountered this so it must not be a thing" get out of your house and go experience it dude. It's out there. I live in Eastern Massachusetts and there's a shit load of Mexican restaurants within a 30 minute drive from either my house or my work

I've never seen fries in burritos before but I've seen other kinds of potato, have all you people really had actual fries in them before?

Havent tried a burrito with fries before but it sure sounds tasty.

I feel like the fries are just filler and they are ripping off the consumer with the price.

It's like hash browns when you get a breakfast plate, they are there to fill you up.

It's specifically called a California burrito if you're ordering it (i.e.: not every burrito in California is a California burrito). It replaces the rice with fries and adds a crispy texture to the burrito.

I last had one about two weeks ago. I ordered two, so I could have another one the next day.

There was a California burrito restaurant next to my university that I went to every now and then. Probably the best burrito place ever (especially for less than 10 bucks). Every meal I would be fucking stuffed and would need to skip out on dinner because the burrito was so huge. So good tbh, brings back memories
